road trips, martinelli's on my pants, and belly touching

We had a lovely New Years Eve.
John, 4 of our friends, and I decided to take a spontaneous road trip to South Carolina to acquire some illegal fireworks.
You know...the dirty and exciting kind that leave the ground.
We drove squished in my moms car and listened to Ultimate Dance Party 1997, Ludacris, and old school Britney Spears.

When we got back we spent the rest of the evening having a jam sesh and a bon fire and shooting off enourmous amounts of roman candles, black cats, mighty thor's, mother gooses, and fireworks.
Several minutes after midnight I spilled my Martinelli's on a very ironic place on my pants.  It looked like my water just went and broke.
I didn't even move or care, towards the end of the night my bod felt like I had ridden a horse all the way to SC and back by my self to get the new years fireworks.
I'm starting to feel pretty uncomfortable now which I don't mind so much considering things have been beautifully easy thus far.  Hubs and I purchased a birthing ball yesterday (which really is just a big bouncy exercise ball but I feel cooler and more productive calling it a birthing ball.)  I spent at least 3 hours on it today stretching and moving.  It is the best my body has felt in months.  I'm hoping that that combined with my Webster adjustment from this weekend that my cousin Brian suggested will help EJ to turn.
THERE IS STILL HOPE!
The night ended with some serious belly rubbing and I didn't mind it at all.
Free rubs for anyone who'd like them...just consider me your lucky Buddha for 2012.

i laughed so hard, i gave myself a headache

Last night I had a "girls night out" with two lady friends and...my husband.
He amazes me at how comfortable he is and how well he can get along in a group full of women.  Maybe its a sign for things to come and we will be blessed with 7 baby girls and he will live a perfectly content life surrounded by countless ladies.
We went out to our favorite sushi place and put a killing on some raw fish, rice, miso soup, and edamame.

I've been pretty down lately so I really needed a carefree night just to laugh and forget about some of the things going on right now.  I am so grateful to my friends and my husband for reminding me that its A-okay to laugh and BE HAPPY during hard times.

I literally laughed so hard I gave my self a headache.
Now, that's some good laughin'.

Spring Jam

This past week we had a jam sesh to welcome spring back in to our lives.  Spring has arrived in all of her glory.  We missed her and she is beautiful.  She arrived flaunting warm breezes and copious amounts of pollen and new critters.  She asks us to open up our windows and let the air roll in to make our curtains dance and we oblige.

Our little apartment was donned with pink and white snap dragons and a plethora of instruments.  The apartment was vibrating with with an unmistakable energy.

We gathered nine lovely people around our very small heirloom dinning room table.  We all cuddled closely and conversed and laughed as we filled our bellies.  Then we each decorated our own cupcakes and became giddy from the sugar.

We poured our new energy in to thanking Spring for coming back once more.

We celebrated the new life of spring with improvisations and spontaneous eruptions of pleasant sounds.

Unplugged

This past weekend we went to my old house.
My old roomie Jenna had transformed the awful creepy basement in to a SWEET open mic stage.
It was the Ultimate Jam Sesh!
There had to have been 100+ people.
It was JAM packed!
We had to have been breaking some sort of fire code...

Hubs and I performed:

Blackbird
Remember to Breathe
I Wanna Grow Old with You

Then we did Fish or Cut Bait and Sleeping Giants with Jenna and Belen.
You can buy her album (here).  Seriously, check it out.  Now.

Check out this video montage that shows everybody from the night.

Thanks to Lights+Camera+Love and Taylor Giddens for documenting this for all of us.

Let's do it again!

Rap-ra

Have you heard the latest and greatest in musical advancements?
Oh, you haven't?
Well here is a breath of fresh air for you.
It's called RAP-RA.
Its a lovely blend of rap and opera.
You heard right...opera.  I do that stuff.

About a year ago 3 of my genius friends and I crafted this lovely ditty with the help of Garage Band, a Mac, and lots of whit and gangsta love.

Be warned...this song is about bootys.

We "primiered" it at a costume/surprise birthday party.  The party was for moi.  I have the best friends.
I really miss these times.
And people.

Mr. Murphy and I didn't even know each other at this point!

My dear friends and I dressed up as each other.  It was all very confusing.

I was Jamie
Jamie was Lisa
Lisa was Belen
Belen was me

Get it? Got it? Good.

Here is us pre-dress up...

(do I look like I have one leg?)

Here we are at the Booty Do premiere.

Get ready to be rocked by Booty Do...

Lisa is now in Finland serving a mission...I miss this lady.
4 more months and she is home sweet america home.

So, how did you like Booty Do?
Apparently its pretty catchy, its my nieces first song request every time we see them!

I hope it will be stuck in your head all day now.

Calm it down, calm it down, calm it down....
