Butterfly Card with Washi Tape

Do you have supplies in your stash that rarely see the light of day? For me, it's washi tape! I really like the idea of it, but I'm just not that skilled at applying it to my project. In fact, I almost gave up on making this Butterfly Card with Washi Tape until I decided to wrap the tape around to the back of the white panel. This gave it a finished look I could live with. There are a couple of washi tape challenges right now and several with butterflies. I was prompted to make this card by another crafty friend, KT Fit Kitty, you can see her card HERE. Her card was made for the Butterfly Challenge from Mrs. A. to use a Butterfly along with Washi Tape. Sometimes it takes a challenge to push me to use my neglected supplies.

The list of challenges that inspired this card include:
Most of the supplies for this card are by Stampin' Up! with the exception of the corner punch by Fiskars and pink rhinestones by Recollections. The colors include: Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Island Indigo and Night of Navy. The stamp set used is called Butterfly Basics and the washi tape is at least a couple of years old. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Washi Tape Thank You Card

Hello! It's a beautiful Friday morning here in Oklahoma. The birds are singing and the sun is shining. I need to go outside and plant the a few things before they die in the pots I bought them in. But... before I do that, I want to share a sneak peek at this Washi Tape Thank You Card I made with the Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape by Stampin' Up! It's new in the upcoming catalog release. The pansy flower and the sentiment are from the new hostess stamp set called Morning Meadow.

My intentions earlier this week was to make a card using the new Washi Tape, but I never got around to it. Last night, I decided to look up the current Retro Sketches challenge and their sketch was perfect for the idea I wanted to create. This Thank You Card has a casual feel but it still has plenty of colour. The pansy was stamped in Melon Mambo and then fussy cut (the new catalog has a coordinating punch). Melon Mambo is such a pretty bright colour. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by and have a FABulous weekend!!!

Just a Note of Love

This morning when I read the theme challenge at CAS-ual Fridays was LOVE SONG, there were many songs that popped into my head. There was no way I could pick just one, so I settled on using sheet music. Growing up I took piano lessons and although I don't play often, I love sheet music. Especially vintage sheet music. So, think instrumental classical music, Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 or Chopin's Prelude in E-Minor. The notes are all that matter with no lyrics getting in the way. To start this creative process  I started digging through my stash and realized I needed to make a trip to the craft store, or at least that's the "excuse" I used. Anyway, I found some washi tape with sheet music by Recollections and it was perfect for the card I wanted to create. Now there is no song that feels left out, because they can all be represented with this Just a Note Love Card. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
