Spooktacular Halloween Card

Hello! The month of Halloween has arrived and I enjoy making Halloween cards for family and friends. This Spooktacular Halloween Card was inspired by a couple of challenge. The photo at Inspiration Station has a girl trick-or-treating with a green pumpkin pail and there are bats on the house. The photo at Two Old Bats inspired me to use the spider web oval stamp by Newton's Nook. Most of the supplies used on this card are by Newton's Nook. The image is called Halloween Pile and it was colored with Copic markers. The Oval Frame Dies were used and the patterned paper is from the Halloween Meows paper pad. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day! 🎃

Halloween Pals Card

Hello! Are you counting down the days until Halloween? We started decorating our yard. In our neighborhood our Halloween decorations are always a big hit. It's fun to make the kids smile with decorations and of course candy. 🎃

Awhile back I colored these cute images from the Halloween Pals stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh. So, I decided to make an inky background using distress oxide inks and put them on a card. A black fence was die cut using a Lawn Fawn die called Little Picket Fence. The sentiment was heat embossed with silver embossing powder and two punched bats added to the sky. That's it. I've almost finished all my Halloween cards for this year. I plan to make a couple more and I'll be done. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day! 🦇

Batty Boo Card

Happy World Cardmaking Day! My only make for the day is this Batty Boo Card. I was inspired by the photo inspiration at Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge. The BOO die cut is from Impression Obsession (DIE325-V) and the bat image is from the Gone Batty stamp set by Taylored Expressions. Two pieces of patterned paper were selected the black and white is from the Bootiful Nights paper pad by American Crafts (2016) and the stripe is from the Pumpkin Party paper pad by Doodlebug Design (2018). Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day! 🦇

Glowing Spooky Card

Good day! I think Halloween cards that glow in the dark are extra fun. So, I cut out the Spooky word die with glow in the dark paper. This Glowing Spooky Card is a mini slimline design which is 3.5" x 6". The owl and the ghost images are from the retired stamp set by Newton's Nook called Boo Hoo. Using the flying bats stencil by Newton's Nook with black distress ink and gray cardstock for the background. A tombstone from the Halloween Party stamp set by Hello Bluebird was added along with some black die cut grass and that's it. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. This was a pretty easy card, so I plan on making multiples for family and friends. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!🦇

Spooky Card

Okay... it's not that spooky, but it's about as spooky as my cards get. Hope you're having a great day! The Inky Paws challenge is a Halloween theme and the Monday challenge at Simon Says Stamp is to use stencils and my stencils get neglected. So, I decided to use the bats stencil by Newton's Nook to make this mini slimline Spooky Card (3.5" x 6"). The ghost image is also by Newton's Nook from the Boo Hoo stamp set (retired) and the headstone is from a Hello Bluebird set called Halloween Party. Some black die cut grass and a spooky word die from Simon Says Stamp and that's it. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!🦇

Spooky Halloween Card

Happy Halloween! Well... it's almost over, but I usually make a Halloween card while waiting for trick-or-treaters. This Spooky Halloween Card was this evenings creation. I made a inky background using distress oxide inks. The stamped images are by Hello Bluebird from the Halloween Party and Little Haunters stamp sets. Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut with the coordinating dies. The spooky tree was a freebie I received with a recent Simon Says Stamp order and that's it. The tree definitely added the spooky vibe to the card. I hope you had a fantastic Halloween and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Hoppy Halloween!!!

Happy Hoppy Halloween!!! The trick-or-treating has begun and a sugar rush is sure to follow. We always decorate our yard and try to make it fun for the kids. Unfortunately, it is raining and that may keep some of the ghouls and goblins away. That could mean leftover candy... which I'm sure my hubby will have no problem polishing off.

After I mailed my Halloween cards to family and friends, I decided to make one more card using some of the scraps. Everything was laying around my craft desk and the image was already colored. All I had to do was trim a few pieces, die cut the bats, stamp the sentiment and adhere everything together. The orange polka dot paper really soaked up the Memento black ink I used with the sentiment. It started out much darker, but it's much lighter now. Well, that's it! I hope you have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Halloween Cards are Mailed!

After all the cards have been carefully made it's always a big relief to get them mailed! This year I ended up making fourteen cards. I made a few extras because there are a couple I didn't want to give away. Here is the last card I made using the Halloween Trio stamp set by Newton's Nook:

It's one I'm keeping or I'll give it to my hubby. The background was made with distress oxide inks and the patterned paper is from the Trick or Treat paper pad by Pebbles (2016). Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Halloween Trio Card

Good day crafty friends! It's getting closer to Halloween and I'm behind on making my cards. I got a really bad sinus cold a couple of weeks ago and I'm just now starting to feel better. It's been years since I got a cold that bad and I didn't want to contaminate my crafting supplies. So that means I'll start making multiples of the cards I create instead of many different designs. I made three of this Halloween Trio Card. The design is all the same but the patterned papers change and the colors used on the image vary some. Distress oxide inks were used to create the background and then it was die cut with a deckle die by Tim Holtz. The image is by Newton's Nook and it's called Halloween Trio. A coordinating die was used the cut out the image and the little bats are from the same set. The yellow moon was added and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Halloween Shaker Card

It's time to shake things up and make a shaker card to play along with the challenge at Simply Create Too. The design team has created some fantastic inspiration, click HERE for all the challenge details. We hope to see your shaker card in the gallery! You have until October 26th, 2018 to link your creation.

This Halloween Shaker Card is actually my first shaker card. I watched a couple of videos and it really isn't as hard as I expected. The scalloped frame die and stamps are from Newton's Nook. Copic markers were used to color the image and the coordinating dies were used to cut out the image. The bat paper is from the Trick or Treat paper pad by Pebbles (2016) and the grass paper was a scrap from my stash. A selection of sequins were added for the shaker element and everything was assembled. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cute Hoppy Halloween Card

Hello! It's another Monday and I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was pretty uneventful, but that's okay. We ran errands and did a few things around the house and that was it.

For this Cute Hoppy Halloween Card I decided to get a little inky with the background. Using mixed media paper and distress inks in: Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw, Abandoned Coral, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves. Once the ink colors were blended I used a distress sprayer with water to lift some color, blotting with a paper towel. Then I used the heat gun to speed the drying process. The images are from Newton's Nook Hoppy Halloween stamp set, which I absolutely LOVE. Copic markers were used to color the images and then coordinating dies were used. The patterned paper is from the Boos & Brews paper pad by Doodlebug Designs, Inc. To accent the focal area a piece of green patterned paper was die cut with a retired edgelit die by Stampin' Up!. Then I decided to add two black bats using the Newton's Boo-tiful Night die set by Newton's Nook. Everything was adhered to a piece of Grape Delight cardstock by Bazzill and then adhered to the white card base. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Penguin Halloween Card

Hooray for Friday! Halloween is a little over six weeks away which gives me plenty of time to make my Halloween cards. If I make two a week that will give me the right amount to send to family and friends. Most of them are one of a kind designs, but sometimes I'll make two if I get rushed. Here is my first Penguin Halloween Card. Isn't this the cutest Halloween stamp? It's called Penguin Spook Nite by Whimsy Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was fussy cut. The background panel was made with distress inks and watered down white acrylic paint for the splatter. A piece of chevron paper from the Not Too Spooky paper pad by Pink & Main was used to help pull the colors together. Two punched bats were added for detail and that's it. So glad you stopped by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Skinny Halloween Card

This week I was looking through all my scraps of cardstock and decided to make a Skinny Halloween Card. If you're like me and have a couple of bins full of scraps... then this size of card may help you use some of those scraps. The finished size is 3.5" x 6" and it fits perfectly into a standard # 6 3/4 envelope. The bat and sentiment are from the retired Cheer All Year stamp set by Stampin' Up!. After stamping and fussy cutting the bats I decided to add black Wink of Stella to make them sparkle. There is nothing fancy about this card, which is one of the reasons I like it. The striped patterned paper is from the Trick or Treat paper pad by Pebbles and that's it! A simple and easy Halloween card.

Newton Meow-oween Card

My crafty mojo has been on the fritz lately! I've had a really hard time getting motivated to make anything... cards or sewing. With Halloween getting closer I need to make a few more cards for my family and friends, so this afternoon I sat down and got inky. The current Inky Paws Challenge #56 at Newton's Nook is a color challenge to use: Purple, Orange, Black and White. My mind was on a spooky sky using these colors. Using a piece of watercolor paper, Aqua Painters along with Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango inks by Stampin' Up! the background panel was started. Once dry I decided to get more inky. First I punched a circle and die cut a strip of clouds using the Sky Borders Die Set by Newton's Nook then sponged on Wilted Violet distress ink. To brighten the cloud area I sponged on white kraft ink by Stampin' Up! this did brighten the area but it also made the clouds have a pink hue... which I like. Some black grass was punched using a Fiskars grass punch and the sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. The sentiment and images are from the Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set by Newton's Nook. Memento black ink was used to stamp the images and they were colored with Copic markers. Then I did some fussy-cutting. To finish the sky three black bats were stamp around the moon and that's it.

The sky on my card was inspired by this photo I took back in January 2015. When I left work one evening this was the view over Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Happy Haunting Card with Bats

Happy Halloween crafty friends! I have a quick post to share my latest card. This Happy Haunting Card with Bats was started last year and then set aside until I finally remembered it today and finished it. I've always liked repeated images in threes, the trickiest part is getting the spacing right. All stamps and paper for this card are retired by Stampin' Up!. Some clear Wink of Stella was added to the bats for sparkle and that's it.

Well, we have our front yard decorated and we're ready for trick-or-treating kiddos any minute. Wishing you a Hauntingly Fun Halloween night!

The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. All patterned paper is from The Spooky Time Stack by DCWV. For detail I used a spider-web border punch by Fiskars  and bat die cut by Sugar Pea Designs. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Count Purrcula Halloween Card

Halloween is my favorite holiday to make handmade cards. I think it's the colors because I don't really like "scary" things. However, I do love to hand out candy and see all the fun Halloween costumes of the little trick-or-treating children.

This Count Purrcula Halloween Card is my latest creation. The image is by Jessica Lynn Original and it was colored with Copic markers. To make the spooky sky a brayer with ink pads was used, it was then die cut with a pierced oval by Avery Elle and then die cut spooky clouds from Taylored Expressions was adhered. Some silver texture paste was added to the patterned paper using the Dot Fade stencil by Tim Holtz and the finishing touch was three sequins for sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cute Bat Trick or Treat Card

This weekend I searched Etsy for Halloween digital stamps and found some wonderful new to me artists. There were several I would love to add to my collection but I picked this Cute Bat image by MarinaNeira (click here to view). I think he is darling dressed up like a little devil and holding a Trick or Treat bag. He's definitely too cute to spook!

To create this Cute Bat Trick or Treat Card the image was colored with Copic markers and I chose warm gray to color the bat. I used a Lil' Inkers stitched rectangle to cut out the image and for the layout I used the sketch at Sketch Saturday. The patterned papers are by DCVW from the Eek-a-Boo stack. The sentiment and little frog are both retired stamps by Stampin' Up! That's it!

Haunt Ya Later Witch Card

Good day! Halloween is quickly approaching and I still need a few cards, so I made this Haunt Ya Later Witch Card. I've used one of my favorite layouts and patterned papers from The Spooky Time Stack by DCWV. The stamped image from the Haunt Ya Later stamp set by Stampin' Up! was colored with a mix of Copic markers and a blender pen with ink pads. For a little sparkle some clear Wink of Stella was added to the bat, witch's dress and hat band. To finish it off I added three silver sequins for detail. That's it!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Halloween Flying Cat Card

Cats can fly on broomsticks, right? Well... maybe not, but the image sure makes a fun Halloween card for a cat lover. I had my hubby in mind when I made this card, so I tried not to add any girly embellishments. The layout is from this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I don't have a lot of decorative die cuts or framelits for the focal image, so I went with something more basic. The Flying Witches Cat image is from Sami Stamps and was colored using Copic markers. Both patterned papers are by DCWV from the Eek-a-Boo stack and I added some Frayed Burlap distress ink to the edges of the orange paper. The Trick or Treat sentiment by Stampin' Up! was stamped using Memento black ink. For the details three bats were die cut using a die by Sugar Pea Designs, the purple button came in a variety pack and the twine is from The Twinery. That's it!
