Miss You Card

Hello! A quick late night post to share my latest card. I combined two challenges to create this Miss You Card. The Paper Players sketch challenge and a color challenge from Just Us Girls. The photo inspiration provided at Just Us Girls made it easy to choose the flower as my side element for the sketch at The Paper Players. To add the circle detail from the sketch, I did some paper piercing. All cardstock and patterned papers are by Stampin' Up! The blue paper is from the retired Print Poetry paper stack and the tan is from the Color Me Autumn dsp. Using the Simple Stems stamp set, I stamped the flower using Blushing Bride ink and used the coordinating framelit to cut out the shape. For the leaves I used the retired Sizzix leaf die with some light gray cardstock. The TPC Studios Miss You sentiment was stamped using Midnight Muse ink. That's it! I hope you're staying warm wherever you are and thanks for stopping by!

Yellow Flower Birthday Card

Good evening! I have a quick post to share a card I made tonight using the photo inspiration at The Pink Elephant Challenge. I love black and white cards with a pop of color and the yellow is definitely a nice contrast. The flower is die cut with three colors of yellow: Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and So Saffron. The die cut is by Sizzix, Flower layers #7 and I used a decorative brad to secure the layers together. I added a bling flourish coming down off the flower but in the photo it blends into the patterned paper. The top two corners were punched using a Fiskars decorative corner punch and the sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up! set. Well, that's about it. I'm also entering this card in the Crafting From The Heart Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Is it nap time??? The last couple of days I have been really tired and it has zapped my creative energy. Here in the US we turned the clocks forward one hour over the weekend and it's staying daylight an hour longer. Which is great, it means Spring is almost here. We have a few more days until Spring officially arrives, but here in Oklahoma we are having 76 degree weather. It feels like Spring, so let's go ahead and say Hello to Spring with this Hello Card.  I LOVE the colors in the patterned papers by October Afternoon. It's a simple card but it's full of color. Well, enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for stopping by!

International Bazaar Card

Today is Monday.  That means it's time for another great challenge from MOJO Monday.  This week features a great sketch designed by Mary Fish.  I was excited to open my new designer series paper and Lacy & Lovely stamp set from Stampin' Up! for this challenge.  The International Bazaar collection features beautiful rich colours and great design elements.  I debated on using a sentiment or leaving it blank, but I decided a Hello sentiment works great because you can turn it into whatever occasion you need.  I really love how the International Bazaar card turned out.

International Bazaar Card Supplies:
  • Paper: White cardstock, rich razzleberry, lucky limeade cardstock and International Bazaar designer series paper by Stampin' Up!
  • Texture: Fancy fan embossing folder and rich razzleberry 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon by Stampin' Up! and Sizzix Texture Boutique.
  • Stamps: Lacy & Lovely stamp set by Stampin' Up!
  • Inks: Classic stampin' pads in lucky limeade, rich razzleberry, and early espresso.
  • Bling: Rainbow gemstone assortment by The Paper Studio (item #317693).

Zinnia Flower Happy Birthday Card

Inspiration for a great card design is all around us.  Today's inspiration came from the many flowers starting to fill the yards with color.  The Zinnia is a wonderful summer flower and the Zinnia Flower Happy Birthday card is bright and cheerful.  I like to have several birthday cards on hand to give to family and friends.  This card makes a great addition to my stash.

Supplies used: White cardstock, pink cardstock, lime green cardstock, Sizzix Texture Boutique, Sizzix embossing folder (Flower Vine & Twizzle Set, 656799), Fiskars edge punch (Upper Crest), flower stickers by Martha Stewart Crafts (Dimensional Zinnia Stickers, M355004), Hero Arts clear stamp (Classic Messages, CL414), and Stampin' Up! classic stampin' pad in Lucky Limeade (122935).

Zinnia Flower Happy Birthday Card Directions:
  1. Make card from white cardstock or used ready made card.  Finished size: 4" x 5.5".
  2. Trim pink cardstock and adhere.
  3. Trim white cardstock, emboss using the Sizzix Texture Boutique machine, and adhere to card.
  4. Edge punch green cardstock strip, start with a strip 2.75" wide.  Layer with white cardstock and adhere.
  5. Adhere flower stickers, stamp sentiment, layer, and adhere.
This design would also work great for other sentiments, thank you, thinking of you, hello, and best wishes.  If you don't like Zinnia's pick another flower.  If you don't want to use stickers, stamp a flower image.  Making a few changes can change the look of the card.  Have fun!
