Easter Card with Ducks

Hello! It's almost Easter and time to get the cards in the mail. This Easter Card with Ducks was made for my parents. I usually make them a card with a bunny, so I thought I would do something different. The image is from Unity Stamps and it's called Lucky Little Ducks. The Happy Easter sentiment is from the bunny- keep you forever sentiment kit by Unity Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image. I found a plaid paper by Recollections that coordinated perfectly and added some floral patterned paper by Doodlebug Designs. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Get Wellie Soon Card

Good day! It's getting late, but I wanted to post this Get Wellie Soon Card just in case my tomorrow doesn't go as planned. 😊 The colors were selected to play along with the Inky Paws challenge to use: Pistachio Green, Golden Yellow, Navy Blue and White. It was fun trying to figure out what images to use with these colors. I finally decided on Newton's Rain Boots and used Copic markers to color. Once the images were colored the coordinating dies were used to cut them out. The yellow striped paper is from the new Springtime paper pad by Newton's Nook and the Pistachio Pudding polka dot is retired by Stampin' Up!. Some die cut grass was added and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Newton's Rain Boots Card

Hello! This week is going by really fast and I realized I still needed to make my card for the Inky Paws sketch challenge. So, this morning I colored this Newton's Rain Boots image and made this card. The papers are from one of my favorite Doodlebug Designs paper pads called Hello Sunshine (2014). I loved it so much I bought three of them. To color the image I used Copic markers in colors to coordinate with the paper. For the sentiment I decided to use a Thinking of You stamp from the Woodland Spring stamp set by Newton's Nook. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it.

The As You Like It Challenge this week is: Animals or People - which is your favourite and why? My answer is animals, because they make me smile. Most my cards have cute critters and I rarely use images with people on my cards. My stash is full of cute critter images and I always notice cards created by others with cute critters. So, animals win! 🐼😺🐰

Little Ducks Easter Card

Hello and happy Friday! Easter is a month away and I love making Easter cards. I usually mail about a dozen handmade Easter cards to family and friends. Easter is the perfect occasion to remind your loved ones that you're thinking about them and a handmade card is the perfect way to send the message.

This Little Ducks Easter Card is the first one I've made this year. The duck image is from Unity Stamps and it's called Lucky Little Ducks. After picking out the patterned paper from the Spring Fling paper pad by Echo Park, I colored the image with Copic markers. The Happy Easter sentiment is from the Bunny- Keep You Forever sentiment kit from Unity Stamps. A simple layout was used and everything is adhered flat to make shipping easy. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Rainy Day Card

It's been really cold and rainy the last few days which always makes me want to stay home. So, today I played in my craft room and made this Rainy Day Card using the Newton's Rainy Day stamp set by Newton's Nook. The Monday challenge at Simon Says is Whatever The Weather, so I thought this image was perfect. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut using the coordinating die. The layout is from the current Inky Paws sketch challenge and I used plaid paper by Doodlebug Designs to play along at Cupcake Inspirations. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Under the Weather Card

With Spring comes seasonal allergies and that came make you feel Under the Weather. This afternoon I spent some time making this Under the Weather Card using the Spring Showers stamp set by Newton's Nook. Now I'm prepared with a cute card in my stash. The design idea was inspired by a card made by Jennifer Jackson. I like how she arranged the patterned paper above the image. The clouds and striped paper on this card are by Echo Park and the paper pieced umbrella are scraps from Crate Paper. I did go a little crazy with the rain drops but they needed to splash into the puddles. The image was colored with Copic markers and I added three clear sequins on the clouds for some sparkle. That's it!

Spring Duck Hi Card

Hello and thank goodness for Saturday! I hope you get to enjoy the day and do something crafty. You're welcome to play along in the new challenge starting today at Catch The Bug, the theme is Birds, Bees or Butterflies. The design team have made some wonderful inspiration to share with you! Click here for all the challenge details and design team creations. I hope you can join the fun!

The Spring Duck image is one of my favorites! It was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched square by Lil' Inkers. I combined papers from several different companies. First is a layer of Daffodil Delight cardstock by Stampin' Up!, second is red gingham by Pebbles (America the Beautiful Collection), third is Field of Flowers by Photo Play (Happy Glamper Collection) and last is Grass Paper by Creating Keepsakes (date on the paper is 2002, so it's been around for awhile). The Hi (that's all) sentiment is from the retired Sale-A-Bration Party Pants stamp set by Stampin' Up!. Some twine and three green sequins are the finishing accents and that's it.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Card

Hello! There are only a few days left until Christmas and I'm not done shopping for gifts. My biggest problem has been the fact that I don't like shopping and that leads to procrastination. At this point the crowds and traffic are more than I want to contend with, so I'm not sure what I will do.

This afternoon (instead of shopping) I made this Ho! Ho! Ho! Card using a cute digital image by Deedee's Digis called Santa Daniel. In case you haven't heard, Deedee's Digis is permanently closing on December 31, 2015 and right now all items are 75% off.

The layout for this card is from this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge. All patterned papers are from the 25th and Pine paper pad by Basic Grey. Since the digital image came pre-colored there are minimal supplies used on this card. I used a stitched rectangle die by Lil'Inkers, three snowflake sequins, Modern Label punch and Word Window punch by Stampin' Up! and the sentiment is from the retired Good Greeting stamp set by Stampin' Up!. That's it! Well, I better go shopping!

Masculine Mallards Card

Hello and happy Tuesday! This week at Cardz 4 Guyz I have the pleasure of being the hostess and I chose the theme Birds for our challenge. I love feeding our backyard birds and recently we woke up to a pair of Mallards in our yard. We have received a lot of rain and our yard backs up to a creek but we were surprised to see them right up by the house. This Masculine Mallards Card was inspired by my backyard encounter. I can't wait to see what bird inspires your creation!

To create my card I used a digital image I recently won from Pattie's Creations Challenge called Mallards. Pattie Gomez is the artist and she has an Etsy shop where she sells her images. I colored the image with my Copic markers and quickly decided that this beauty needed to be a framed piece of art. I used a piece of hardwood patterned paper to make the frame and then adhered over the image with dimensionals. The rest is pretty simple and the finished card size is 5.25" square.

Click here to see the wonderful inspiration from the design team. We hope you will play along this week!

Here is another picture of Mr. Tazzy helping me craft. It never fails, I start to take pictures and he wants to help. The second picture is Mr. Dickens and he likes to nap by the window while I make cards. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Little Duck Baby Card

Hello and happy Monday! Are you looking for a fun card challenge to participate in? The theme challenge this week at Created With Love Challenges is Baby Shower Cards. Our sponsor is Meljen's Designs and my Little Duck Baby Card was created using the Little Pull Duck image. I kept the card gender neutral because I never know which one I'll need. The design for my card comes from the Deconstructed Sketch no. 86 by Jen Shults. I coloured the image with my Copic markers and added Stickles to the duck for a little sparkle. The pacifier paper is by The Paper Studio and the Sweet Baby stamp is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set by Stampin' Up! I hope you will play along with us this week and link up your baby shower card creation. Thanks for stopping by!
