Christmastime

I am here today with another 12 Days of Christmas post.

Today I’m sharing about some of my favorite things to do at Christmas time.

Christmas trivia! I really like trivia games, especially Christmas ones.

I love gathering with my family and watching movies. This year it’s mostly just been my parents and I that have been watching Christmas movies together but it’s still just as fun as always.
I think everyone knows how much I enjoy a good Hallmark Christmas movie. ;)

Driving around and looking at lights is lots of fun. We don’t do it too often, but it’s fun when we do. There’s this one house not too far from us and they have a big lights and music display. The lights and music are synchronized!

I love playing in the snow. It’s unfortunately only snowed once this Christmas season. (Well, technically twice but the first time it hardly lasted.)

Reading Christmas books, especially by the tree is so fun!

Can you believe that Christmas is only 3 days away?!🎄

Christmas Traditions/Memories

Christmas is in exactly one week!!! That's so crazy!!!

Today I am going Christmas shopping with my mom once I get off work. Hopefully I can get gifts for the rest of the special people on my list.

Today I will be sharing some of my favorite Christmas traditions/memories.

~On Christmas morning my younger sibling and I used to always be so excited to get up early. My parents said that we couldn't get them up until 7:00, but we could get up at 6:00 if we wanted to. So my sister and two younger brothers would get up at 6:00 and hang out in my and my sister's room. As we got older and my sister and I got separate rooms she stopped getting up early with us. Now it's just my brothers and I who get up at 6:00 and hang out in my room. Although I usually have to go wake them up. ;)
Once everyone is up we read the Christmas story. Then we open up stocking and have breakfast which is usually homemade cinnamon rolls. After breakfast we open presents.
For dinner we have an early dinner of prime rib. In the evening we'll hang out as a family and sometimes we'll play a game and/or watch a movie.

~My dad is self employed so each year we have a work company Christmas party. It's just us, but it's something I always look forward to. Having a family party is a blast. We tend to have pizza for dinner. My parents put together a basket with a movie, game, and snacks. We watch the movie with our pizza. Then we play the game and eat snacks and we have a gift exchange too.

~My younger brothers and I always love to sleep in the living room by the Christmas tree at least a few times during December.

~Christmas baking. We do Christmas baking more some years then others, but it's always fun,...and delicious!

Christmas Traditions

Christmas is in 3 days!!! I can't believe that it's so close! I'm so excited, but I'm also not quite ready yet. ;)
Today I will be sharing some family traditions that are special to me.

--Each year, sometime in December, we have a family Christmas party. It's so much fun. We have something special for dinner. My parents put together a basket that's for everyone. Inside there's a movie, a game, snacks. We watch the movie that evening and also play the game while we have the snacks. Most years we do a gift exchange. It's a super fun night and one I look forward to each year.

--On Christmas Eve we do a family Christmas Eve service. We read from the Bible and my siblings and I play Christmas songs on our instruments and sometimes some of us will sing.

--Christmas morning is so much fun! When all of us kids were younger we used to always want to get up super early, but our parents made us wait to get them up until 7:00, so us kids would meet in my sister's and my room at 6:00 and do some fun things together until 7:00. Well, now just my two younger brothers and I do this. They come up to my room and we have fun until it's time to head downstairs. Once everyone is up we gather together and read the Christmas story. After that we open up our stockings. Next we have breakfast which is usually scrambled eggs and cinnamon rolls. After breakfast we open presents. It's a really fun morning. :) After present we just have fun around the house doing stuff with our new gifts and all. Then later in the afternoon we have an early dinner of prime rib and for dessert we will sometimes do Christmas cookies.
So that's pretty much our Christmas Day.
