Favorite Christmas Movies

Today I am going to be sharing 10 of my favorite Christmas movies! My friend Brooklyne is going to be sharing her favorites on her blog as well so be sure to check that out!

Today I’m going to mention some new favorites. Obviously A Dog Named Christmas, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, The Christmas Card, and many others are still some of my all time favorites, but I talk about them all the time. ;) So these are some movies that more recently became favorites.

A Christmas Secret
I absolutely loved this one! It was amazing! It was super sweet and heartwarming. This is definitely one I will be rewatching!

A Dickens of a Holiday
I thought this one looked great and I also really like both main characters so I really wanted to watch it. It was good! I enjoyed it so much! It had a cool storyline about a town putting on a play of A Christmas Carol. I actually watched it the day before I went and saw my town's own production of A Christmas Carol. ;)

Five Star Christmas
Five Star Christmas is so funny in an embarrassing sort of way! I really enjoy this one and it makes me laugh. All of the interactions between all of the characters are hilarious!

This the Season to be Merry
Oh my goodness! Tis the Season to be Merry is so good! It was really funny and honestly it was easy for me to relate to lots of things. I highly recommend this one. I really hope that this one eventually comes to DVD so I can add it to my movie collection!

A Christmas Promise
This Hallmark was different than most, but in a good way. It definitely had it's sad and unexpected moments, but it was really good and sweet as well.

A Timeless Christmas
I wasn't really expecting to enjoy A Timeless Christmas that much, but I ended up really liking it! It was great and very enjoyable.

Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas
I first watched this Hallmark a few years ago and it quickly became a favorite! It's super good and sweet and I love the interactions between the main characters.
I also enjoy the other movies in this series as well. The movies don't connect to each other, other than the same song plays a role in each of the movies.

The Santa Stakeout
Oh my goodness! I loved this movie. It had me laughing so much. I can see this one not being everyone's cup of tea, but I loved it and I would definitely watch it again!!

Open by Christmas
I honestly didn't have super high expectations for this, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed it a lot!

Christmas in Love
I watched this one a few years ago and enjoyed it and I just rewatched it this Christmas season and still enjoyed it. It has a nice mix of funny and sweet moments.

What are some of your favorite Christmas movies? Did you watch any this year that became a new favorite?

Christmas Movies

Today for the 12 Days of Christmas party I will be sharing about some of my favorite Christmas movies. 🎄

Holly and Ivy

Based off the trailer I knew I wanted to watch Holly and Ivy. It looked sweet, but sad too. While it did have some sad moments, it was super sweet and I really enjoyed it.

Christmas in Vienna

I loved that this movie was set in Vienna. I thought that was a cool aspect and the storyline was great. I liked that the main lady played the violin like me. ;)

Write Before Christmas

I watched this movie for the first time last year and loved it! It is so sweet. It has the perfect blend of sweet and funny. This is for sure one of my favorite movies!

Christmas Camp

This movie was fun and I loved the idea of a Christmas camp!

Road to Christmas

I actually didn't think this movie sounded all that fun. I was wrong. It was great and I really enjoyed it!

Christmas List

I saw this one for the first time a couple years ago and thought it was so fun and funny!

Too Close to Christmas

This is a really fun movie. I loved how the main characters didn't get along at first. It definitely had me laughing!

Head on over to Stories by Firefly, and don't forget to enter the giveaway going on over there. :)

Movie Recommendations

If you know me at all, you know I enjoy a good movie. Today I'm going to share a few movies that I've watched recently that I've enjoyed. :)

An Hour Behind
This is a fun romantic movie. It's Hallmark-like in someways, but not quite as predictable. It also pretty funny in parts.

Savannah Sunrise
This movie is a bit slower paced, but still really fun. It has a road trip in the story which was lots of fun. This one has some pretty hilarious parts in it!

The Morning Show Mysteries
These are Hallmark mysteries. I haven't seen all of them yet, but I've seen the first three movies so far.
These ones are quite good and I'm looking forward to watching the others.

Beyond the Blackboard
I've seen this one before, but I just rewatched it. I love it so much!!! It's so amazing!!

Over The Moon In Love
I wouldn't consider this Hallmark movie one of my top favorites, but it was a pretty good one.

What's one good movie you recently watched?

Favorite Christmas Movies

Christmas is in just a little less then a week!!! The time is flying!

In today's 12 Days of Christmas post I will be sharing about a few of my favorite Christmas movies. Make sure to head over to Faith's blog for more Christmas party fun!

Once Upon A Christmas Miracle is such a good movie! I watched it a few weeks ago for the first time and now it’s a new favorite of mine. It was so sweet.

Home for Christmas Day is another sweet one. I watched this one last year for the first time and re-watched it earlier this Christmas season.

Last year’s When Calls the Heart Christmas special The Greatest Christmas Wish was really good! Some new characters came to Hope Valley at Christmastime and while they didn’t stay long, they are the main characters in the spin-off show When Hope Calls.
I especially liked this one since Elizabeth had her and Jack’s baby!

Christmas Getaway is so great!! The storyline was lots of fun and I really liked the two main characters.

I just watched Christmas Scavenger Hunt last night with my parents. This movie came out just this year. I thought it was fun and it hardly had any conflict in it which I enjoyed. ;)

Merry and Bright was lots of fun and it also came out this year! I always enjoy movies where the main characters get off on the wrong foot with each other. ;)

Have you seen any of these? 🎄

Movie Recommendations

It's been awhile since I've done a movie recommendation post. These 6 movies are great. They
are all good and ones I've watched more then once, and I've seen all but two in the movie theatre.

God Bless the Broken Road
I really wasn't sure what to expect with this movie. I wanted to see it, but wasn't sure if I would really like it. It ended up being way better than I anticipated!
View the trailer here.

I Can Only Imagine
This movie is incredible! It inspired me more then I can say.
View the trailer here.

Indivisible
I saw a trailer for this movie while at the theatre seeing God Bless the Broken Road. I never know about movies that are war related, just because I'm a bit more sensitive to war and violence, but it's a really well made movie that I enjoyed a lot.
View the trailer here.

Run the Race
Run the Race is a good movie. As soon as I saw the trailer I couldn't wait to watch it.
View the trailer here.

Overcomer
I enjoy the Kendrick Brother's movies. While this wasn't my favorite one they've made it was still good! There was one thing I didn't agree with, but other then that it had a good storyline.
View the trailer here.

Woodlawn
Woodlawn is one of those movies that after I finish it I always want to go out and change the world. I was a bit hesitant to watch it at first since it dealt with segregation and I didn't want to watch something that would be racist, but it wasn't like that.

Movie Recommendations // Hallmark Movies

I'm back with more movie recommendations! Today I will be talking about some of my favorite Hallmark movies. I really enjoy Hallmark movies. :)

A young caterer’s life suddenly changes course when she inherits a country home and learns she must share it with a career-obsessed Wall Street trader. At first, these opposites do not attract, but feelings begin to change when they find themselves having to work side-by-side to restore their newly acquired home.

All of My Heart is one of my all time favorite Hallmark movies. It's a romantic comedy, but it also has those really sweet parts too. The main two people are just so fun and I really like their relationship. They don't exactly like each other in the beginning and that definitely makes it pretty funny. The sequel All of My Heart: Inn Love is a fun continuation.

Uptight French chef Sara Westbrook gets fired up when her upscale café, Chez Varenne, is suddenly overshadowed by a new restaurant moving in next door run by a group of rowdy firemen. Led by handsome former fire fighter Gill Callahan and his friend Danny, The Five Alarm Grill is soon a big success while Sara and Patsy, her pastry chef, struggle to bring in customers.
Sara suddenly softens when she meets Gill's ten-year-old daughter Hannah who she can't help but take under her wing when she learns Hannah is growing up without a mom. Ignoring the obvious tension between her dad and Sara, Hannah is soon playing matchmaker. As Gill and Sara slowly begin to stir up romance, their relationship is tested once again when a local food critic gets in the mix. Can the couple resist the temptation to compete with each other, or will the heat of competition drive them apart?

This movie has a great mix of funny and sweet parts in it. It's really great and one I've seen numerous times.

Fitness trainer/former marriage counselor Molly White runs Bridal Boot Camp classes combining fitness and yoga with pre-marital counseling exercises to brides and grooms before their big day. While struggling with marital issues from her past, Molly meets the handsome Nick Dyson, a talented photographer who seems to be having doubts about his upcoming marriage to Molly’s client, an overbearing perfectionist. While helping couples find their happiness and begin their new lives together, Molly discovers she, too, needs to learn how to forgive herself from her past so she can move forward with life – and love – in her future.

I think any When Calls the Heart fan will like this movie. The main couple in in The Perfect Bride is "Lee" and "Rosemary".  It's so fun seeing them in another movie and this is such a great one. The sequel, The Perfect Bride" Wedding Bells is also great and definitely something you should see if you watch this one.

Feeling disconnected from her teenage son, a protective mother decides to step outside of her comfort zone and take him camping. But as soon as she arrives, she begins butting heads with her handsome cabin neighbor, a single father and outdoorsman who is also in search of a connection with his teen daughter. Friction soon sparks a flame as these opposites attract.

Campfire Kiss is super funny! It had me dying of laughter at one point. The main two people also don't get along at first (I love movies like that. ;))

Potential Northwestern fellow Tess Harper lasers through her best friend’s wedding planning like the star doctor she hopes to soon become. In fact, Tess puzzles through any problem – provided it’s not her own. When she meets divorce lawyer and groom’s best friend, Michael, Tess maneuvers around him like a gurney in the emergency room until she discovers this best man has a few moves of his own.

My Favorite Wedding is another great romantic comedy. I watched this one last summer and it's definitely a favorite! Unfortunately this one is not on DVD but I really hope it will be sometime!

Romance novelist Liam Bradley has already found massive success with three books written under the pen name Gabriel August, but he's mysteriously unknown to his legions of readers. With his first book written as a way to heal after a broken relationship, Liam has slowly become disheartened with writing strictly for romantic fantasy, something evident to a sweet, but honest, journalist who reviews books, Sophie Atkinson, whom he meets by chance on a plane. The two begin a tentative relationship in Sophie’s home town of Portland, Maine, where Liam has come to find inspiration for his newest entry.
Liam’s agent puts him on the spot with a long-planned reveal of Gabriel August’s true identity, but Sophie doesn’t know of his public persona. The longer Liam avoids telling her the truth, the deeper a hole he digs for himself. Will their romance survive once his true identity comes to light?

It's been a little while since I watched this one, so I definitely need to re-watch it soon! A Novel Romance is just so fun and very sweet.

Have you seen any of these before? Do you have a favorite Hallmark movie?

Movie Recommendations // TV Shows

Besides a good movie, I also love a good TV series. One of the reason I like series so much is because you get to be more invested in the characters lives. I've seen numerous different TV shows, but these 4 are the ones I like the most.
So, here are my 4 favorite series.

When Calls the Heart tells the captivating story of Elizabeth Thatcher, a young teacher accustomed to her high society life, who receives her first classroom assignment in Coal Valley, a small coal-mining town where life is simple, but often fraught with challenges. You'll also meet Abigail Stanton, a wife and mother whose husband, the foreman of the mine, along with a dozen other miners, has just been killed in an explosion. The newly widowed women find their faith is tested when they must go to work in the mines to keep a roof over their heads. Elizabeth charms most everyone in Coal Valley, except Constable Jack Thornton who believes Thatcher’s wealthy father has doomed the lawman’s career by insisting he be assigned in town to protect the shipping magnate’s daughter. Living in a turn of the century coal town, Elizabeth will have to learn the ways of the frontier if she wishes to thrive in the rural west on her own.

When Calls the Heart has been a TV show that I’ve loved since I first started watching it back in 2014. This show is so good and I always look forward to each new season. Season 6 is coming next year!
When Calls the Heart is one of those shows that I have great pleasure in hooking someone on it. ;) The characters are so much fun, but I really can’t say much more about it because I can’t give spoilers away. :)

Take three little girls, their recently widowed father and two of dad’s best buddies, put them in the same household and stand back.
In Full House you’ll have fun and plenty of laughter as you get to know Danny Tanner, the girls’ doting dad, rock-’n’-roll Uncle Jesse, Joey, a wannabe comic whose best audience is right at home, and the three Tanner girls; DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle.

Full House is a show I just recently started watching. This is a really funny show. It never fails to make me laugh, but it also has some of those sweet heartwarming parts. I also really love the family dynamics.

The multi-generational family drama Chesapeake Shores follows Abby O’Brien, a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother to two daughters, as she adjusts to life back in her hometown of Chesapeake Shores. Abby now balances a budding relationship with her former high school sweetheart, Trace, working for a firm that does business with her uncompromising father Mick, and raising two young daughters. Returning to her hometown means engaging in the lives of her siblings: Jess, a free-spirit trying to succeed as a bed and breakfast owner; Bree, a playwright who buys a bookstore in Chesapeake Shores after moving back home from Chicago; Kevin, a soldier adjusting to civilian life and new romance; and Connor, a new lawyer establishing his professional career. Having returned to Chesapeake Shores shortly after Abby, the O’Brien’s once-estranged mother Megan strives to reestablish relationships with Abby and her siblings, though the O’Brien clan primarily looks to its wise grandmother Nell for guidance as they navigate life, love, career and romance.

Chesapeake Shores was one of those shows that I wasn’t as sure about at first. Well, I ended up really liking it. Both seasons 1 and 2 are great and I can’t wait for season 3 this summer. I really like family stories (even though this one is a bit dysfunctional) but it’s still fun to just get to know everyone.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered is a wonderful combination of romance, comedy and drama that follows the lives of four postal detectives who transform themselves into a team of detectives to track down intended recipients of undeliverable mail. Their missions take them out of the office and into an unpredictable world where redirected letters and packages can save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but somehow always on time. The team includes charming Oliver O’Toole, a genius postal detective and the group’s leader; new team member, Shane McInerney, a technophile who brings 21st century sensibility to the group; free-spirited, “girl next door” Rita Haywith, who has a photographic memory; and lovable Norman Dorman, a master in conventional research methods.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered is a fun show. It has a pretty diverse cast and I really wasn’t sure what exactly to think of it at first. It didn’t take me long at all though to really enjoy it!

The numerous other TV shows I've seen include, due to my family's dynamics: The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Gilligan's Island, Get Smart, The A-Team, and Sue Thomas: FBEye

Movie Recommendations // Christian Films

I've done several book recommendation posts before and I really love doing them, but today I decided to do something a bit different and do some movie recommendations. I've done movie recommendations before around Christmas time, but I thought it would be fun to do some other movies as well. I'm going to break it up into different categories like I do for the book recommendations. Today I'm recommending Christian movies.

So here's 6 of my favorites!

Henry Myers lives a hard life. Getting through life on the frontier however he can… even if it means robbing a bank. After his latest heist goes wrong and his partners betray him  and leave him for dead, Henry is surprised to find extraordinary kindness from a widow and her children. With the influence of this family, Henry begins to question the choices he’s made in his life. Just when things begin to make sense again, it’s all ripped away from him when his old partners show up. Will he seek the revenge he desires or finally find his redemption?

I heard about this movie quite a while before it actually came out. I thought it looked like a good movie and was waiting for the day it would come out. When it came out and my family and I watched it, it became a new favorite of mine! It's so good and I love the theme of redemption. This is a movie that I have watched several times.

Soul Surfer is the inspiring true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack and courageously overcame all odds to become a champion again, through her sheer determination and unwavering faith. In the wake of this life-changing event that took her arm and nearly her life, Bethany’s feisty determination and steadfast beliefs spur her toward an adventurous comeback that gives her the grit to turn her loss into a gift for others.

Soul Surfer is a great movie based on the true story of Bethany Hamilton. Since this is a surfing movie there is a lot of beach attire, but during surf competitions the girls do wear shirts instead of their usual bikinis, but because of the beach attire this movie may not be for everyone.

All Allyson and her friends want is a peaceful, grown-up evening of dinner and conversation…a long needed moms’ night out. But in order to enjoy high heels, adult conversation and food not served in a paper bag, they need their husbands to watch the kids for three hours—what could go wrong?

Mom's Night Out is such a fun movie! I watched the trailer for this one a couple months before it came out and I thought it looked great. I wasn't sure if it would be one of those movies where they put all the funny stuff in the trailer and then the movie ends up not being quite as good. Well, that wasn't the case. This movie was super fun and I was actually laughing out loud in the theatre while watching it, and that really never happens.

The city—and all of its negative influences—is all these kids have ever known…and they think of it as their friend. Now Rey, Korina, Marcus, and Anthony must face the toughest decision of their lives. Is the hope of redemption enough to lure them away from the streets?

Set Apart has been a movie that I've liked for several years. It might not be the best for younger viewers because of some of the gang related stuff, but it's a great movie.

The leading mercenary for the British East India Company, Will Reynolds, has just been double crossed and now is on the run in the American colonies. Working to redeem his name and win back the affections of Charlotte, with whom he’s never been fully truthful, Will now hides behind a new mask in hopes of thwarting his former employer. As his past life closes in on him, Will must somehow gain the trust and the help of his beloved Charlotte—as well as Ben Franklin—while he races against time to defuse a plot of historical proportions!

I went and saw this movie in the theatre with some of my family and some friends. I wasn't too sure if I'd like it or not, but I ended up really liking it.

The inspiring and unknown true story behind MercyMe's beloved, chart topping song that brings ultimate hope to so many is a gripping reminder of the power of true forgiveness.

This was another movie that I wasn't sure how much I would like it. I ended up loving it as well. I loved the themes of forgiveness and about chasing your dreams. This movie was really inspiring to me and it will be definitely one I'll buy once it comes out.

Have you seen any of these movies before? What's your favorite Christian film?
I plan to do more recommendations including favorite TV shows and Hallmark movies so be on the lookout. ;)
