Achilleas Kallakis Former Owner Of India Building Convicted of Fraud

Send Him Down and throw away the keys this rat should rot in Prison.

The trouble this Achileas Heel caused is hard to imagine in terms of what it has cost all the individual people who he cost their jobs from the cleaners of his buildings to all the people who were affected by the massive confidence trick he pulled.
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2008/12/03/turmoil-reigns-at-india-buildings-100252-22394368/
The first serious decline of India Buildings started with this liar telling the banks the building was full to get more cash when in reality it was starting to empty at an alarming rate.
So one of Liverpools historic buildings was left up the creek without a paddle while this shyster spent most of his time playing poker and sailing around the world in his yacht. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2013/jan/16/bogus-mayfair-property-tycoon-achilleas-kallakis
This article appeared  in yesterdays Guardian it looks like the con man shyster is about to go to jail. We hope he hates the food and he gets a good old rattling from the inmates.

He was once dubbed the Walter Mitty of Mayfair but there are a few other names that we cant repeat here.

Then India Building, along with a load of other properties, was repossessed and passed on to Green Property and the problems continue with Green Property in trouble http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/green-property-group-vandalise.html causing even more damage.

Achilleas Kallakis, Ex Owner of Liverpools India Buildings On Trial For Fraud.

Achileas Heel, my opinion is, this man should be locked up.
He left India Buildings in Dire Straights with his corporate antics. Gambling with normal peoples lives, their businesses he played a silly game for his own enjoyment, Achileas Heel.
He did normal people out of redundancy payments. That is something the trial wont show......how his dealings affected ordinary folk. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2008/12/03/turmoil-reigns-at-india-buildings-100252-22394368/
A poker playing gambler. He played the same tactics in his every day life, I am aware of him employing horrid people to carry out his whims.
What a horrid little man my ex landlord at India Buildings was.
I lost track of the bullying tactics that he employed in India Buildings to secure his authority while all the time the shyster was allegedly robbing banks from his yacht in Monaco. pic thanks to Property Week

On trial along with Alexander Williams

Both have previously pleaded guilty to an offence of conspiracy to defraud. Under their previous names of Stefano Kollakis and Martin Lewis, the pair admitted in 1995 to selling fake titles and coats of arms to “unsuspecting Americans”, The trial is estimated to last three months and Robin Barclay and George Carter-Stephenson QC, barristers for the defendants, will begin arguments for their clients in the coming days.

I wrote a while ago http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/03/ss-manxman-owner-charged-with-fraud.html about the SS Manxman owner, when the dodgy geyser left us all high and dry without services at India Buildings

The SS Manxman lies rusting and is about to be cut up.

He ran his operations from Mayfair and Monaco.

Anyway, Send him down. Its the best place for him, before he scams someone else.

Neil Scales and Merseytravel Spend £67,000,000 Of Your Money-Who Sanctioned This?

N eel Scales is shown walking around talking about his new plaything, the vandalised U534 U-Boat and when asked "And How Does this fit into Mersey Ferries"? he declares
"It is a concious decision" he goes on.................
"Investing in all 3 vessels the Pier Head New Ferry Terminal and SpacePort all together cost £67,000,000".
He says "Spaceport half a day, Beatles museum 2 hours and this (U534, cut up ) with the resturaunt attached 2 hours so you have a full day............So the whole purpose of this is to increase patronage of Merseyferries"
A day out costs us £67,000,000 while care homes are closing on both Mersey sides, somehow it does not seem sensible.

Miserytravel............Out of Control why don't they just concentrate on getting the buses and trains to run on time.
£67,000,000 of your money spent on misaligned strategies that need to be questioned.
£4.2 million to cut up U534......did they own it.........or was it held in trust.
 http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2011/05/why-did-merseytravel-spend-42-million.html
All this wastage when the Manxman is being scuppered,
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/08/ss-manxman-do-you-care.html and will soon be scrapped, if it has not been done so already.
 http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/04/ss-manxman-its-over-its-scrap-and-its.html

The Whimbrel fund cant get the cash to bring an intact ship home, to the Battle of the Atlantic Port. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/12/hms-whimbral-what-ever-happened-to.html

£17,000 would have saved the MV Wincham being cut up by morons, who-ever was to blame they should have been scrapped http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/wincham-scrapped.html
Where is our sense of history http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/mv-wincham-and-museum-director-in.html How much more can we lose with badly thought through ideas from people who I would not let steer a pram never mind a heritage based organisation.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/lynch-em-over-whincham.html

The Daniel Adamson Trust would love some money so the hard working volunteers can restore it.
http://www.danieladamson.co.uk/

And down the road, at Ellsmere Boat Museum, the forgotton home of numerous decaying ships, where they cant even raise a whip round for a box of teabags.
Wouldn't it have been common sense to make them a donation of U534 with a million quid to train apprentices..................no thats common sense. Miserytravel and its Director or should I say U-Boat Disector, Out of Control.

SS. Manxman-Do You Really Care What Happens To It?

One last ditch appeal is happening now-with asbestos stripping well underway the new SOS Manxman Trust is attempting to galvanise a political appeal to Pallions for a stay of execution- to allow the new trust to organise the necessary funding scheme. Support has been given by the Remembrance Line Association of Folkestone who wish to hire the restored Manxman to operated a classic cross channel service during the summer months.
Cant be confident as to how serious all this hot air is. But lets hope something gets done in the nick of time before it is cut up for scrap.

This is a comment left on an old post http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/12/ss-manxman-lies-rusting-its-disgraceful.html
There was another comment left when I originally wrote it.

Is it over is it scrap? http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/04/ss-manxman-its-over-its-scrap-and-its.html
Does the Shyster still own it? http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/03/ss-manxman-owner-charged-with-fraud.html
The full fact of the matter is do those trustees or do-gooders have the power to make this happen. Do bodies such as Peel Holdings care?  Will it really be saved? You decide, let it rust if you like...........or do something about it.

SS Manxman-Its Over, Its Scrap. And Its Crap..

The asbestos is being removed ready for the big cut up. It looks like the curtain has come down and we are just waiting for the fat lady to sing. There has been a declaration that the breakers will auction off the good stuff. The brassy bits, that is worth some dosh. That’s no good to those that care about Maritime History. Once its gone it wont be coming back. What is the next generation going to think about what has been done in the rebranding of a city where the superlambanana replaces the Liver bird as the symbol of the city because it is easy to understand that the kiddies like it, they can draw it. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/superlambanana-land.html  Or on it. Should we just rename the city Grosvenor-pool. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/02/grosvenor-pool-putting-co-into.html and get on with it.  How much more can we allow to be destroyed by the likes of Neil Scales the purveyor of bad sculpure and public art, http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/07/liverpool-european-capital-ofbad.html who cut the historic submarine U-534 that was pulled from a Norwegian Fjord? When the historic warships collection was scrapped. Or the Wincham travesty. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/MV%20Wincham  Our museums don’t care. MV Wincham was scrapped right in fron of their eyes http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/wincham-scrapped.html  by morons. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/wincham-scrapped.html  There has been a valiant effort led by the work, above and beyond the call of duty, the man who knows everything about ships and maritime history in Liverpool, Peter Elson. Though critical of the Daily Post, http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/02/daily-peel-trinity-smoking-mirrors.html  Peter is a last bastion of everything that the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo should have been. Instead, it is a dead man walking with the drivel of property developer’s vested interests and placation of council blundering and promotion of world heritage disaster. Instead of promoting Peel holdings they should be asking why Peel Holdings have scuppered the plans to save the SS Manxman by retracting a berth for it. They want to walk all over the city yet give nothing back. Questions need to be asked as to why the backward thinking paper, is not looking backwards to helping to promote the need to protect Liverpool’s Maritime past, well apart from Peter. A campaign was launched by the Daily Post, by Peter Elson who probably cant sleep at night thinking about the rusting hulks clattering together in some graveyard dock, being denied the true requisite of attention needed to save them to bring them here to Liverpool, set them up, make Liverpool a Maritime City as it world heritage inscription declares.
Where has the Manxman cash gone? The Chairman of the trustees Bill Ogle will not pass it over to another trust set up to make an effort to save the ship instead of letting it rot. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/12/ss-manxman-lies-rusting-its-disgraceful.html

Where is the cash that was raised I am aware that several people committed over One and a half thousand pounds. The Earl of Derby gave a grand. But one or two grand to some may not be a lot. I know some who contributed a tenner and a blue one who couldn’t afford it but felt so sharp about it.

Don’t you think Peel Holdings could help and make it a feature of Wirral Waters. Give something back instead of take, take, take.

SS Manxman Owner Charged With Fraud.

Achilleas Kallakis. He was once the owner of the prestigious India Buildings in Liverpool.

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2008/12/03/turmoil-reigns-at-india-buildings-100252-22394368/

Picture thanks to Business Week. Entrepreneur Achilleas Kallakis has appeared in court charged with 23 offences relating to alleged £61m frauds against Allied Irish Banks and Bank of Scotland.
Kallakis, formerly known as Stefanos Kollakis, and Alexander Williams, formerly known as Martin Lewis, appeared at the City of London Magistrates Court.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/mar/01/mortgage-fraud-commercial-property-sfo
Kallakis and Lewis are charged in relation to alleged property loans frauds against AIB of £56m, and an alleged shipping loan fraud in relation to Bank of Scotland of around £5m.
They were charged with:
• 13 counts of forgery,
• Five counts of fraud by false representation,
• Two counts of money laundering,
• One count of obtaining a money transfer by a deception.
Property Week revealed in April last year that Kallakis was being investigated in relation to the alleged AIB fraud.
The case was sent to Southwark Crown Court and the next hearing will be on 4 May.
He also owned India Buildings and left the place in turmoil when bills were left unpaid

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2009/apr/01/uk-property-fraud-kallakis  He was called Mayfair’s Walter Mitty after it was alleged that he was the same person who had been duping rich American into buying bogus titles in the 80s.
Fourteen years ago he pleaded guilty to fraud at Southwark crown court, admitting selling "lordships" to Americans, Australians and Arabs for £85,000. Kollakis, who at the time worked for a travel company in Croydon, bought the titles from the Manorial Society of Great Britain, sub-divided them into districts and then offered them for sale via newspaper adverts. The scam claimed to be taking advantage an ancient process known as subinfudation - splitting and increasing the number of titles. But the practice had in fact been banned in 1290.
A jury had heard how Kollakis and a co-conspirator used false names and passports as well as bogus companies, including a fake firm of solicitors, to set up the Institution of Heraldic Affairs. One of the phoney companies used a Latin motto which translates as "virtue is the way".

Kollakis's past reveals a string of small-scale failed businesses which appear to have no assets. Among the ventures to sink into administration were the SS Manxman, a floating disco boat moored at West Waterloo Dock in Liverpool, and Electras, a nightclub in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. He, in some shape or form, and in my opinion, still owns this rusting hull after numerous campaigns were taken up to save it. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/12/ss-manxman-lies-rusting-its-disgraceful.html
