Gnu Postcard Art

I thought I would have a change from the drawing and painting I have done recently and do a digital postcard. The gnu was from the Naturalist's Library [book]

A3 sketchbook, ink drawing then watercolour. 

I got the idea by looking at a clock, jug and ornament on my mantelpiece. I used a plastic stencil for the shapes in the background.

Pretty Parrots and Doodlewash 21 and 22

The parrots were painted in a large A3 [11.7" x 16.5"] sketchbook, there was a lot of bleed through from the other side of the page. The doodlewash paintings were tiny in comparison, the sketchbook measures just 4" x  4".

A page from an A3 sketchbook, cartridge paper. The paper is not brilliant and there is some bleed through from the other side. At one time I never used to paint on both sides but for some reason I did in this book. I started with an ink drawing, painted with watercolours then doodled on top with a white pen.
