Wedding Cushion

I was at the wedding of one of my nieces on Sunday. It's been 'tradition' over the last few weddings that I've attended that I've made a heart, usually a small embroidered heart although last time I decorated a wooden heart. This time I made a cushion. I cut the letters out with my Zing and used a Heat'n bond backing, then ironed in place. I used wadding so that it would have a quilted feel and embroidered around the letters and hearts with a running stitch. I put more stuffing in the hearts from a cut in the backing fabric, like trapunto quilting.

Imagine Art Quilt

My quilt will be shown at The Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, from tomorrow,
6th -9th August.
The picture is a collection of my doodles and art work put together around a tree (with faces). The piece is called 'Imagine' as many of the quirky drawings are from my imagination. Follow the squirrels and vampire rabbit's tails to see what is at the end.
The fabric was printed by Spoonflower on cotton silk and was hand quilted with back stitch and running stitch. Beads have been added in places.
