*ON A MILLION OTHER SITES
*THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

Well it's our annual Thanksgiving day telethon. We are always trying to drum up money to keep our site alive. This year we have lined up some of the best talent that show-biz has to offer.  For instance this year's master of ceremonies is the one, the only, Jamie Farr and with his wit and comedic talent we are sure to keep you tuned in for all of our 356 hours of television time.  Some of the other great talent we have lined up includes, Walter Brennan reading a passage from Jim Carroll's The Basketball Diaries.  We have Kaye Ballard doing a killer version of Metallica's Enter Sandman. Also on the bill Kitty Carlisle doing a fabulous Janis Joplin impression. We (of course) would never forget the young folks out there so we have booked Daughtry.  Well if that doesn't leave you salivating at what else we have in store you must not have a pulse.  So check your local listings and plan on the greatest event since Mountain Monsters.  See Scans

Guns N' Roses Sessions

 *THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

I know, I know I owe you a couple more Beatles post, but stay tuned they're coming up. This post was gonna be about how I hate blogs that promote their own shitty music, think their clever and/or funny, or rip off other blogs and don't give any thanks. Jeez then I thought about it for a couple minutes and I'm as guilty of everything that I was going to rail about as the next person. Then I came to another conclusion, I will no longer be a Blog hater. No as a matter of fact I'm grateful for the Blog's that do exist. It's almost a dying breed. I'm under the impression that the only ones who pay any attention to the Blog's anymore are true music lovers. So to all my Blog brothers bless you for all you do and all the hard work you put into them. As a matter of fact I'm kicking around the idea (and if I can get the financial backing) I'm gonna stage the first Jobe's Peace and Love Festival. I'm trying to contact the estates of The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, John Prine, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Prince.(The Elvis estate has already said no) Then those that are still with us, like these guys, The Stones and many many others if they would like to participate. So hang loose and stay tuned for more info. See scans.

*THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER
*NOW WITH NEW LINK
Looking back through our archives I see that this is probably already been posted, but not in this configuration. You would have to download about 6 or 7 things to make this one up. So in order to save you some time I give you this. Man, can you believe it, some stupid cunt said this shit (Covid-19) would be over this month, when it gets warm. I know saying "We'll get through this" doesn't help much (about as much as thoughts and prayers) but all things must pass. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. See Scans

Frank Zappa - The Mystery Box {10 Disc Set}

Back From The Dead...
Originally posted March 31, 2014

 Frank Zappa - The Mystery Box
 Live, Studio Rehearsals and Outtakes - Various Sources @320
{In 3 parts}

JON WINOKUR - You once said, "The United States is a nation of laws, badly written and randomly enforced," and within the past few years you've battled censorship and have been active in national politics. How do you assess the health of American democracy in the late twentieth century?

FRANK ZAPPA - Democracy is one of those things that looks good on paper, but we've come to a crossroads in contemporary America where we really ought to decide, Do we *want* it? When you have a preponderance of people in this country who will willingly accept censorship- in fact, *ask* for it, *demand* it in the case of the Gulf War- you've got a problem. Asked random questions about the First Amendment and how they would like to have it applied, if you believe in polls at all, the average American wants no part of it. But if you ask, "What if we threw the Constitution away tomorrow?" the answer is "No, that would be bad!" But living under the Constitution is another story altogether. I've come to the conclusion that there's only one party in this country and it's divided into two parts: Republicans and Republican wannabes. Republicans stand for evil, corruption, manipulation, greed- everything that Americans think is okay after being conditioned to it during the eighties. Republicans stand for all the values that Americans now hold dear. Plus they have more balloons than God, and for a nation raised on cartoons, that tells you something. Anybody with balloons, they're okay. They don't tell you what kind of crippled people had to blow those suckers up. The Democrats have no agenda, and when they speak on any topic, they want to sound as Republican as possible while still finding a way to retain the pork. I'll be blunt with you: I'm considering running for president as a nonpartisan candidate because I am sick to death of this stuff. The "news bath" is not a warming experience; it makes me deranged for four or five hours a day. On a show for Bill Moyers called "The Class of the Twentieth Century" I said that the faces that really belong on Mount Rushmore are J. Edgar Hoover and Joseph McCarthy and Walter Winchell and Hedda Hopper and maybe even Roy Cohn and Michael Milken, because
they've had the greatest impact on American society. They have shaped the way things are done in this country. One of the problems with the world in which we live is that people have become accustomed to lies upon lies upon lies.

*Original Notes*
All the records have been sold separately and have been given autonomous entries.

In the book BOOTLEG by Clinton Heylin, the bootlegger behind this box is identified as "Richard", and "Next to the Beatles, his great love was the cantankerous Frank Zappa". "Richard in his time was to be responsible for one ten-album set, one four-album set and ten single albums [of Zappa], including the legendary 'Tis the Season to be Jelly". (The ten-album set, of course, is this Mystery Box, but the other albums are never identified.) He is quoted (on page 195) as saying:

    I'm a big Zappa fan. In fact my Mystery Box got Zappa as upset as Columbia got over Ten of Swords [a Bob Dylan bootleg]. Zappa in America has a hotline for his fans to call and he went so far as to have the woman who does the hotline ask for help in tracking down the perpetrators of this heinous boxed-set, and Zappa called the FBI and the FBI didn't want to be bothered ... I guess the problem was that Zappa was doing his You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, his ongoing series that has just ended, and Mystery Box was a giant You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore. A lot of reviews were saying that Mystery Box was better because it was chronological and didn't jump all over the place and didn't have all these stupid edits in it. That kind of thing can annoy you if you're an artist putting out your own thing ... Zappa's reasoning behind that was that he was losing tons of money and in fact he wasn't losing any money. Most people who do Zappa bootlegs do so because they like Zappa. They don't do it for the money. I can imagine people making money off a lot of other bootlegs but not Zappa.

*NOTES FROM BINKY REGARDING THIS POST

Today's post is an interesting recording, it's not quite a live concert and the information I've found indicates it's probably a rehearsal for a Kinks tour in the early 90's. It's a live session in the studio with songs given some interesting interpretations and different arrangements. There are instrumentals, incomplete songs and some songs played with a loose "lounge-Vegas" vibe to them that makes for a listening experience that you won't find on record. If you're a fan of the Kinks, you'll love this (if you don't have this already), but if you've never listened to the Kinks, maybe start with a greatest hits album and their late sixties stuff first, then you'll get the humour of this.
Enjoy!!

Elvis Presley Solider Boy Is Back

*THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

Well folks after many years of studying, training, and failing, I have finally perfected a way in which I can tell you how long you've got left. Yep that's right I can now predict within 10-20 years how old you will be before you bite the big one. For a mere fee you can now find out if you'll be around for the election of 2047 or if you should stay inside today. It does take some work on your part however, There are two requirements however, one for men and one for women. On the male side, all I need is the smallest picture you can obtain of your belly-button. For the ladies however I need a picture from the face down (without clothing) to your belly-button. Now, what I will be able to tell you is that if you have an inee or an outee (belly-button) I can give you the age at when you will be eating worms. So I believe over on the sidebar, somewhere there is a place you can send money. Also I do not need your name just your initials. So now with this new money making idea I have devised, as I see the Washington's flow in I will then give you the SECRET TO YOUR LIFE. No need to thank me. See scans

*THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

Ok..Ok looks like I need to clear up some confusion.  Yes I do have a 12 disc set of "Exile On Main Street" however what it's called is "Exile On Main Street 1972-2010 The Mick Taylor Years"  what it consist of is Disc 1 is the Atlantic/Toshiba pressing, Disc 2 is various outtakes, Disc 3 is a live show called "The Great Lost Live Album from the 72-73 tour, Disc 4 is from the L.A Forum June 11th 72 (second show), Disc 5 is from Fort Worth Texas June 24th 72 (second show) Disc 6 is from Norfolk Virginia July 5th 1972.  The other 6 disc's are various Mick Taylor shows with Disc 10 featuring John Mayall. If you go over to the comments at the original "Exile" posting I have left a download of the artwork which probably explains it better than this long and rambling post. I have no problem posting the whole thing if you're interested but I just wanted to let you know it's not every burp, fart, sneeze, snort, toke, choke from the "Exile sessions"  See Scans

Robin Trower - Harum Scarum @224kbps

REPOST BY REQUEST

Not much to say about this. I do think this guy is still putting out some of the best music today. Lot of working on songs here.  Finding studio outtakes from this guy is almost impossible. Fidelity leaves a bit to be desired but I've tried to clean it up. With James Dewar and Reg Isidore.  No Covers.
