Warmduscher @ Camden 2020 & at the BEEP

The London-based rock & roll band Warmduscher formed in 2014 with a line-up that includes several members of notable London acts. The band is fronted by the Stetson-clad Clams Baker, Jr. of Paranoid London, backed by Fat White Family members "The Saulcano" (Saul Adamczewski) and Lightnin' Jack Everett, along with Insecure Men's "Mr. Salt Fingers Lovecraft" (Ben Romans-Hopcraft), and Paranoid London's "The Witherer" (aka "Little Whiskers" aka Quinn Whalley). The band's first album, the wildly boisterous Khaki Tears, appeared in 2015 via Trashmouth records, and was followed by a pair of singles in 2018. The tracks were produced by Dan Carey (Kate Tempest, Bat for Lashes, the Kills) who would go on to produce their sophomore effort, Whale City, which was released via the Leaf Label later that year. When the Whale City sessions were over, Adamczewski left the group to focus on Insecure Men, a band led by him and Romans-Hopcraft. With Romans-Hopcraft choosing to work with both bands, and Adam J Harmer joining as "Cuddles aka The Duchess aka Quicksand," Warmduscher recorded the slick yet chaotic "Midnight Dipper" in early 2019. This became the lead single for their third album, Tainted Lunch, which contained features from Iggy Pop and Kool Keith. Continuing the group's self-proclaimed fusion of "funk, punk, hip-hop, and lounge rock," Tainted Lunch was released on the Leaf Label later that year.

Iggy Pop - 2019-10-14 6 Music Session @ Mala Vida

Mary Anne is live at Maida Vale for a special show with the legendary Iggy Pop. The Godfather of Punk joins us for an extended live session from the BBC's iconic London studios. Iggy will be performing a number of tracks from his latest album 'Free' as well as some stone cold classics from his - frankly ridiculously impressive - back catalogue. We'll also be sitting down with Iggy to find out what inspired the album, the music he was listening to at the time and what he has planned next.

Iggy released 'Free' at the start of September and says of the album: “This is a record in which other artists speak for me, but I lend my voice... By the end of the tours following Post Pop Depression, I felt sure that I had rid myself of the problem of chronic insecurity that had dogged my life and career for too long. But I also felt drained. And I felt like I wanted to put on shades, turn my back, and walk away."

If you want to get yourself ready for this momentous occasion, then we urge you to listen to Iggy's show on this very station, which goes down every Friday from
