Why, how splendid.  I know EXACTLY where I was on my 50th birthday--and it wasn't at a Van Morrison concert.  (Naw. I was in a hospital in Long Island, NY, visiting an old girlfriend who had a serious operation.  Oh well--so much for celebrations.)

This is exactly what I need for the end of summer: some early Van Morrison. It gives me a chance to imagine what it must have been for him to grow up and realize that he would live his dream as a musician. Just think of all those hours of listening to Ray Charles and the others and daydreaming about what he could do himself.
