Okay, that's the technical jazz.  This is a NEW digitization being posted for the first time as of July 2021.  This is a complete presentation of the 3 LP Westwood One set, including the commercials and promo tracks.

The Miller Lite commercials have pop cultural heft, and are packed with celebrities of the early 1990s: John Madden, Vince McMahon, Bob Ueker, Jesse "The Body" Ventura, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, and a William F. Buckley impersonator.  Mr. Ventura went on to be the governor of Minnesota.
In an unusual move, California farmers thought the rock audience would buy fresh fruit.  Nestle thought we wanted white chocolate, not dark chocolate.

Our ol' pal, Steve Downes (the voice of Master Chief from HALO, to the young-uns in our Beloved Audience...) handles the announcing chores.

The music?  Oh, yeah....the music.  It's a great show, and I spent HOURS combing through it, trying to eliminate all the surface noise I could without affecting the sound.  No "brute force" declickers, here, folks, this is HAND LABOR.

The Led Zeppelin camp must have been upset when Plant & Krauss’ 2007 album made such an impact at this year’s Grammys. That “tour” looks further and further out of reach. Well doubters need not look any further than here. The pair’s shows are a varied mix of old-fashioned folk music and dramatically updated Led Zeppelin mysticism. When Plant & Krauss scream the “bring it back, bring it back” repeatedly on Battle Of Evermore, you’re left wondering whether it’s Zeppelin or P&K you want to “bring back”. For Robert Plant this pairing has been an astute career move, a reinvention that has worked while staying true to his English folk roots. Krauss hasn’t done badly either. From the usual critic’s acclaim she’s accustomed to, now she’s also got the popularity and album sales. All done without compromising on music quality. In this day and age, that’s truly exceptional. Aside from a TV broadcast of Austin City Limits, Plant and Krauss’ shows have never circulated in soundboard quality. This show is a rare exception. As far as we know, no lossless copy has circulated on the net. We can only guess that an official live album and DVD is in the works. Meanwhile, this is a tasty appetizer. And a sincere get well soon greeting to guitarist Buddy Miller, who suffered a heart attack on Feb 19. Miller is currently recovering from a triple bypass heart surgery.

The New Yardbirds - London Blues

*Excerpt from Jobe's book little known rock facts

Robert Plant was at a crossroads. Should he keep his job at Bill's petrol, where he was known as one of the best mechanics in England and give up his lucrative pay packet or should he join up with the relativity known Jimmy Page and become the singer in the fledgling new band he was forming. After speaking to the owner of the gas station a Mr. Harvey Wiensteen they had come to a compromise. Robert could take some time off to give the new upstart band a chance. And if they failed he could return to his job. However Mr. Wiensteen wanted something in return. He wanted the young Mr. Plant to promote the gas station at all the shows. Robert knew Jimmy Page would never go for this. So in a moment of inspiration Robert decided to re-name some of the songs he had been working on. Good Times Bad Times now became Good Tires Bad Tires, I Can't Quit You Baby changed to I Can't Find My Torque Wrench. Communication Breakdown had been changed to Transmission Breakdown and finally How Many More Times became How Many More Fill-Ups. Well needless to say the band took off and the rest is history. @320 See Scans

Robert Plant - Great Woods Performing Arts Center, Mansfield, Massachusetts, May 20, 1988

So the Old Lion is still doing what made him famous--and for what it matters, he throws in a John Lee Hooker tune ("Dimples") that was done by...Duane Allman on vocals? (yes: The Allman Brothers Live at Ludlow Garage; Duane Allman Anthology Vol. II.)

Okay, history lessons are over. What I REALLY wanted to hear (and only lasts for 23 seconds) would have been Robert's interpretation of the Beatles's "Back in the U.S.S.R."
It ain't Led Zeppelin; this is more like aluminum blimp. For example: (I KNOW that "Long Cool One" is SUPPOSED to be there--but I wasn't the person recording this.)

However, t
here's no one else--except early Billy Squier--who sounds like Robert Plant singing like Robert Plant. Slow down the tempo here and there, pour some wine, and sit back and enjoy the show--at least, what's here.
