While this cassette was entitled "Bootleg," it was released by the band, distributed in a plastic sandwich bag along with a photo-copied track listing. The version of "Truckin'" is the same basic track as on The White EP, but without all of the overdubs. This version was the most requested track on San Francisco's college radio station KUSF for several months.
Tracks 1, 3, 5, and 6 are covers of the Grateful Dead's "Truckin', played in a pop-punk style, generally fast but also in a sludgy slowed down version. The cassette cuts off right in the middle of the last song; that's not a mistake, that's the way it is on the cassette.
Track 4 is an interview on KUSF with the Grateful Dead's version of "Truckin'" and the Pop-O-Pies cover playing at the same time.
The Los Angeles Times called them "the worst band in California." That's high praise....
