Happy 70th Birthday, Hellmut! Kraan in the 70ies

Kraan is a German band based in Ulm and formed in 1970. It had several minor hits through the 1970s and 1980s. After a break of ten years, the group reunited in 2000. Their early style can be described as Krautrock that turned later to fusion, combining elements of both rock and jazz.

Hellmut Hattler (born 12 April 1952 in Ulm, West Germany) is a German jazz and rock bassist and composer. Hattler took much of his early influences from Jimi Hendrix. As a child, he received violin lessons, and in the 1960s, he played guitar. Joining Peter Wolbrandt's band marked the debut of his changeover to the bass. In May 1971, he founded the pop group Kraan with the Wolbrandt brothers Peter and Jan and Johannes Pappert. Kraan's early Krautrock style later developed towards fusion, combining rock, jazz and ethnic elements.[1] Apart from his own projects, Hattler has toured and recorded with many international musicians of various genres including Tina TurnerBilly CobhamJoachim KühnTorsten de WinkelAlphonse Mouzon, and Nippy Noya.

Patti Smith is in Paris for two concerts at the Grand Rex, Friday October 8 and Saturday October 9. It had been more than two years since the singer, a great Francophile, had not returned to France. A few weeks away from her 75th birthday, the rock poet keeps her energy intact in concert, and an asserted science of symbolism, as evidenced by the week she has just passed.

Great men the grateful country. And as a tall woman, Patti Smith was at the Pantheon on Thursday. The singer recorded a mini-concert there, with her daughter and son, succeeding Sting the day before, as part of Fip radio’s 50th anniversary. A magical and unique moment which will be broadcast on November 26 on the musical radio station.

For Patti Smith, it is a strong symbol, one more, of her attachment to the great French figures, to a heritage that she admires, as when she had sung in 2017 in the Notre-Dame-du-Haut chapel of Ronchamp, imagined by Le Corbusier, as part of the GéNéRiQ festival. “Me here, I want to take pictures, says the singer. I want to sing, I feel the life, I don’t feel the weight of the world and I am happy. “

This is why the singer is “overexcited” We are told, just as she is eagerly awaiting her two concerts at the Grand Rex, as she has hit the road for a few dates in the United States and Italy in recent months. While waiting to carry out another project  opening up to artists Arthur Rimbaud’s maternal farm, which she bought, in Roche in the Ardennes. For Patti Smith, France is worth more than a career. Beep 'til XMas Day 01 (# + A)

Caveat: This will be up to 65GB when it reaches Xmas Day ...

Enjoy the ride, ho ho!

[Ah. I see, jobe is doing something alike at Floppy Boot Stomp too what I proposed last year to the boss who was more shocked by the idee to post something like this. Then it was around 50GB now it's more like 65GB.

So this is just part 1 the rest will not block the Voodoo Wagon. The rest of the daily door to open in the "Beep 'til Xmas" serial will only to be found at the Her(m)etic Garage.

The stuff results from my daily recording of Marc Riley and Gideon Coe Show: I just cut out the session tracks, naming and sorting them to a folder sorted alphabeticaly. So enjoy the work I'm doing for some years. No need to get bothered by Marc or Gideon - I love them both but I can't stand their chatter ...]

Snoid Studios Reggae Singles Archives (1st choice)

When I first met with "Snoid Studios" in the midth 70ies our friendship was founded on a common passion for Max Romeo & The Upsetter "War ina Babylon". He was then deeply into Reggae, had a big collection of LPs and singles he had purchased in Zürich, where a good Reggae Store was placed.

At that time I was engaged in taping everything that could be found in my friends' record collections and so this funny wall of tapes arised from that - including a Reggae part I'm just busy ripping by now. I'm on R 19 (of 36)
