Allman Brothers Band
Tampa 1970
Okay, now that we recognized that Duane ain`t on Planet Earth anymore, here`s a rare Duane show (Set 1 only) as compensation...
This show was played without Gregg Allman.Duane takes the vocals part, too, and on keyboards we have Reese Wynans.
I couldn`t find any more information about the show anywhere...
Too bad, that we only have this partial show...
"What happened was that Gregg was coming back from L.A. where he had to finish some
work for the record company that he was obliged to finish; this was after the HourGlass
had broken up (Duane was fed up with the costumes they had to wear and the music they
were forced to record); he had gone ahead as a studio musician and was doing very well.
He had already met Butch and Jaimoe and Dickey. Not too much before this show, they
had done the Legendary 5-hour Jam where Duane stood in the doorway and dared anyone who didn't want to play in his band to leave. Reese Wyans had other commitments and couldn't
continue on with the band--which is why Duane said that only one person was right to sing
for them--and that was Gregg--hence, the phone call to "Little brother to get your ass out here now."by MDLOP8

Thanks to the original source!
Sounds like an excellent audience recording very near to the stage...
Dedicated to Mitch!
Enjoy!
