Attention, please!

Jimi Hendrix, Acoustic Demos and Poetry Recital, various locations and dates
(notes)
This is a small collection of acoustic demos, recorded at Jimi's apartment/Drake Hotel
(both NY), a couple of jams with Paul Caruso, the Room Full of Mirrors poetry recital, and the infamous Faye's Tape, which went for a bucket load of money at Sotherbys a while back as did the Acoustic Jams and many others.
Hendrix does poetry.
Now there's a thought: Dylan and Jimi doing a rap session of sorts, just laying down their talk.
01. Long Hot Summer Night (Drake Hotel
April 68)
02. All Along The Watchtower (Jimi's apartment March 68 with Paul Caruso)

05. Acoustic Jams with Paul Caruso 2 (same as above)

Radiohead - Collected on a Friday demos 1990
Original notes
This tape is a collection of demos made over the summer of 1990. All the members were by this point at different Universities around the country, but reconvened over the summer, with the exception of Phil who was in Ireland. Although at this time the band did not have a settled name, having dropped On A Friday, but not come up with anything better. The band's working title was Shindig, which survived long enough for Thom to spray paint it on his acoustic guitar case, but by the time of their next 'proper' demo, they had reverted to On A Friday.
In order to keep recording and rehearsing a school friend who had recorded some previous demos for the band was drafted in to keep the drum stool warm. The Clifton Hampden tracks were recorded over a number of weeks with this line up, while Jonny took the four track home with him in between where him, Thom and Colin worked on tracks. When Phil returned the band recorded another demo track in rehearsal, "What's That You See?", significant because it was the first time Jonny moved from keyboards to guitar. The song was the only one from this period that remained in the set up until just prior to the deal with Parlophone.

Colorado's Hillbilly Hellcats tell stories of skateboards and hippies, as well as white trash, whiskey and trailer parks.
Take one part Reverend Horton Heat, one part Southern Culture on the Skids, one part Stray Cats, one part Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps and one part Dick Dale, put it all in a tall dirty glass and add a few shots of Everclear, then swallow The Hillbilly Hellcats if you dare.

Ella Cauthen and Cinder-Graham - demos of a young Voodoo Woman
Watch for the first 50 seconds of the video for the young lady to make her appearance.
This was a 2008 senior talent show down in Decatur, Alabama, and the band is fronting for 18-year-old Ella Cauthen, the grand-daughter of my friends Johnny and Ann Sandlin. The track is Susan Tedeschi's "Voodoo Woman," hence my thought to try this here as a premier moment.
(Voodoo Lounge meets Voodoo Woman.)
This was Ella's first gig--and it caused the athletic coach (Ella's also an athlete; she's only 5'1") to ask her father who was standing there, "Where in hell did that come from?!"
After hearing this young girl sing, Bonnie Bramlett asked to do some recording with Ella; it's likely that Susan Tedeschi is gonna get a call from the Sandlin's, especially with their association to the Allman Brothers.
Ella and her brother-in-law, guitar player Zach Graham, are also doing small gigs (linked) as
an acoustic set. I'd welcome any comments or feedback; I just think this little lady is gonna be getting more attention real damn soon. Be polite, though; Grandma Ann can do things long-distance with healing energy; she's also one very dangerous lady with strong Cherokee roots who shot the mailbox once in anger because people kept running into it with their car.

TeV'95 - Powerful Muzik
TeV'95 - Powerful Muzik
Studio Sessions @192
In 2004 after winning a produce for Kool G Rap beat contest, I decided that I wanted to produce music full time. During that time I was attending in college at the University of Florida. I lived alone in a 2 bedroom apartment. I converted the second bedroom into a recording studio and experienced some of the best times of my life. In that small room I perfected my craft and produced two solo albums, "Take A Hit" Vol. 1 & 2, Kin "The Next of Kin", Busta Brown "The Game Room", and Joey Duz "How Duz He Do It?". This music is only available in physical form and perhaps one day I will make it available for download. After graduating college I moved back to Miami and started working with Salazar and Los at AOD studios. Along with Los (producer Trick Daddy, Rick Ross) I produced tracks for Pitbull, Ryan Banks, Peedi Crack and more. Together with Los and Sunzoo I produced the majority of Mexicano 777's upcoming album. About a month before my trial I released my instrumental album "Powerful Muzik (For The People)", fearing that I may got to jail for a long time. My favorite beat is "Another Day" because it explains most of my frustrations. This album also includes "P's N Q's" which is the beat that won the produce for Kool G Rap competition. "Powerful Muzik" has been downloaded over 10,000 times with no record label support and with no promotional budget. After I was acquitted of bogus charges in 2008, I moved to New York City to further pursue my musical career. At the moment, I am currently working with Andre Neal (formerly of Violator) of PW Harddrive at Quad Studios in Times Square helping manage other producers such as Ty Fyffe (50 Cent, Jay Z, Nas), Track Starz (Chingy, Ludacris), and Big Wing. I also manage 95Flavas.com, work freelance in paid search (online marketing), and most recently as a membership consultant at New York Sports Club.

Iggy Pop & the Trolls - The Khyber, Philadelphia, PA Dec. 15, 2003
James Newell Osterberg, Jr.
You have heard that the Iguana (yes, that's how he got his nickname) is also endowed with ten inches, yes? (I don't care to convert that to metric, but you get the idea, right?)
No? You never heard that?
Well, where in hell did you get your education? On a blogsite?
Oh. Playboy. I see. Well, yes, it was instructional in more ways than one, I suppose. Well, yes, it is indeed found in executive washrooms in America. Well spoken, my boy!
Well, yes, now that you've asked, that's true about James, Jr., and his
junior--well, maybe senior member--but that's for another lesson.

Iron and Wine - Orlando, FL 2003
Iron & Wine - The Social
Orlando, FL 2003
Soundboard @192
pw - fbsvw
Iron & Wine is the stage name for one Samuel Beam, a Florida native who made his name by releasing lo-fi tapes in Miami. After catching the attention of Sub Pop honcho Jonathan Poneman, Beam was asked to send material to the label for submission. After a few months, he sent two CDs in the mail -- both of them full-length albums. Poneman considered releasing them both, but instead slimmed down the set to 12 songs and released it in September 2002 as The Creek Drank the Cradle. One year later, The Sea & the Rhythm followed, featuring five tracks recorded during the same sessions. Shortly thereafter, Beam headed into the studio for the very first time to make a record. The end result was the resolutely hi-fi record Our Endless Numbered Days, which was released by Sub Pop in 2004. Also that year, three Iron & Wine songs were used in the film In Good Company, and Beam's cover of the Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" was featured on the Garden State soundtrack. For the next Iron & Wine project, the group recorded an EP with Calexico; In the Reins was issued by Overcoat Recordings in September 2005. By this point there were no traces of the lo-fi sound of Beam's first recordings, and the band's third full-length album, 2007's The Shepherd's Dog, was their lushest, most produced yet.

Hugh Hopper - R.I.P.
~Hugh Hopper~
29 April 1945 - 7 June 2009
Hugh Hopper, best known as bassist for the Canterbury-based prog-rock group Soft Machine, died June 7 of leukemia. He was 64.
Before Soft Machine Hopper worked with Daevid Allen and Robert Wyatt in the Daevid Allen Trio before forming the Wilde Flowers joined by his brother Brian, Wyatt, Kevin Ayers and Richard Sinclair. But it was with Wyatt, Allen, Ayers and also Mike Ratledge that he was to make his mark on the history of progressive rock and forward-looking jazz-influenced psychedelic groups of the period and since with his innovative fuzz-bass sound.
Hopper established his rep with Soft Machine, one of the linchpins of the Canterbury-based prog-rock scene, for whom he created hypnotic, robustly fuzzed-out bass lines. He also could write beautiful, more conventional songs, as exemplified by “I Should Have Known," ”Hullo Der," and “Memories,” the last of which drummer Robert Wyatt sings the hell out of below (both the Mars Volta and Whitney Houston have covered this tune). “Memories” captures better than almost any other song I've heard nostalgia’s exquisite bittersweet nature; it’s unbelievably poignant. You can find it on Soft Machine’s Jet Propelled Photographs.
Besides working with Soft Machine from 1968-1972 , Hopper played with Isotope, Robert Wyatt, Gilgamesh, Stomu Yamash’ta, Carla Bley, and many others. He also recorded several solo records, including the phenomenal '1984', which best revealed his experimental compositional skills, use of tape loops, and inclination for unusual tonalities.

The National origin from Ohio but now are a Brooklyn based band. They set off in 2001 with a remarkable self-named debut, but it was in 2005, signing to Beggars Banquet and publishing "Alligator", that conquered the indie-blogosphere. Their latest record, the profound "The Boxer", shows that the band rise hasn’t stopped.
The National fusion of intense, melancholic melodies with grand arrangements and, even more, their literate lyrics clearly has placed them in a position of a band to watch.

John Lennon - Let's Have a (Birthday) Party, Oct. 9, 1971 - Hotel Syracuse, NY
Hey, everyone! Party at Johnny's house tonight!
I wish I could have been under the table (if only to record it, not because I drank myself there.)
As well as Lennon, Yoko and Ringo, others present are said to be Allen Ginsberg, Eric Clapton, Phil Spector (!), Neil Aspinall, and Mal Evans.
What? No Harry Nilsson?!?
I guess John thought everyone played without their clothes. I'm tellin' ya, it MUST have been the punch that got spiked.
