WIWW- sleeveless blazer

Vest/blazer- Forever 21 (sold out) option blouse- JCPenney similar skirt- JCPenney similar shoes- Payless option worn July 13, 2014   I had been crushing on a sleeveless vest/blazer for a while so I gave in and ordered one from Forever 21. Now I've got to come up with some work appropriate ways to wear it, because my favorite looks are with jeans and sleeveless tops. That won't be allowed on my job. What do you think of the sleeveless blazer/vest trend? Linking up with WIWW.

WIWW- Red and polka dots

Sweater/skirt- Belks shoes- Ann Klein via Belks tank- Target   Hello it's Wednesday and one week 'til Christmas! I'm happy to say we are done shopping and wrapping. I have a few stocking stuffers to put together and I'll be totally done. With Christmas on the brain, I'm still wearing a lot of red. I was inspired by this pin to put these pieces from my closet together. I usually think of this skirt as a summer skirt only but with a long sleeve cardigan, it works for our mild winters. source   I don't have red shoes but almost came home with a pair of red patent peep toe pumps the other day. They didn't fit.   Linking up with WIWW .

WIWW- Red and white stripes

Shirt- Forever 21; skirt- Old Navy shoes- TJMaxx necklace/earrings- Sears   It seems I have a thing for stripes. I showed you an outfit with stripes last week, and here is another one. I like red and grey together too. I have been tempted so many times to throw this skirt in the Goodwill pile, but now that I've lost some weight, I'm glad I kept it.   And I'll take all the stripes I can get.   What's your favorite pattern? Stripes? Dots? Flowers? Plaid? I love them all.   Linking up with WIWW .

WIWW- Cobalt and polka dots

Blouse- TJMaxx; skirt- Belk; shoes- Ross   I've seen a lot of pairing of cobalt and black and white polka dots lately so I pulled these pieces from my closet and put them together. I've also got a cobalt sweater I could wear with this skirt when it gets a little cooler. I felt like I needed a necklace but couldn't find one that worked so I threw on a chunky memory wire bracelet that I made. One day I'll  have all the right accessories, a style and length for every neckline. (Dreaming.)   Linking up with WIWW .

WIWW - Pink and green

shirt- Belk's; skirt- Goodwill; necklace- made by me; shoes-Old Navy   I wore this outfit to church a few weeks ago. I though it was plain until I added the necklace, and then it became one of my favorites. And these wedge shoes have been getting lots of wear lately. I love them because they are just the right angle. My feet don't slide forward in them and stay in place. Do you have that issue with wedge shoes?   Linking up with WIWW .

WIWW- Brights

This is an outfit I wore to work recently. I often wear something like this to church, but rarely to work. I got lots of compliments on it. I really like the nude shoes with it.  I don't know why it took me so long to invest in nude shoes but they work better with bright colors than black or white.   Shirt- thrifted; skirt- Old navy (clearance last year) shoes- TJMaxx   Linking up with WIWW .

Men's dress shirt to skirt

I finally got brave and tried my hand at making a skirt from a men's shirt. Hubby put some shirts out for a yard sale last year and they didn't sell. I held back a couple of them from the Goodwill pile. Here's what I started with: Here's the end result:

WIWW- A new necklace

Happy Wednesday. Today is the day to link up with Lindsey at the Pleated Poppy for WIWW . It's motivation to dress, dress up, mix, remix, and work your wardrobe. I wanted a long necklace and hubby came through and gave me one for Christmas. It's from Chico's. Here's how a wore it a few days after Christmas. (Yes, I'm still a little behind on the dates, and I don't really like posting  a week's worth of outfits in one post anyway. For a daily account of what I wear, visit me at Savvy Southern Style .) skirt, sweater- JCPenney, leather jacket- gift boots- Ana/JCPenney, necklace- Chico's/ gift

Must Do Monday- Men's shirt refashions/ 5 ways to make a skirt

A couple of weeks ago I shared some tops refashioned from men's shirts. This week I'm focusing on some skirts refashioned from men's shirts. Here are some I want to try: by BlueBabes Create

Easter skirt

I did not buy a new outfit for Easter this year. Instead, I made most of it. I took my first try at a skirt. I started to do this last summer, but the skirt pattern I have is too small - I bought it in high school and well, let's just say that 20 years later I am not the same size. I didn't quite have the courage to try it without a pattern, but last week I managed to summons the courage to make myself a pattern and  skirt using THIS tutorial. I  was happy with the way it turned out until I took a good look at the photos. I'm not sure I like the way it hangs, but I still love the pattern in the fabric. The colors are perfect for spring. And it was comfortable so I will wear it again. I'm not crazy about an elastic waistband so I made myself a belt to go with it. I also made a bracelet. More details on the belt and bracelet later... I'll be linking up to the parties on the side this week including Get Your Craft On
