Quick post

Charisma Cardz asked for something for kids. This one may be for a preteen or so, but my neighbor kid would love it so I'm adding it to the challenge. It is based on the FFF sketch at The Greeting Farm .

Birthday kitty

Hi, hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day. I did. Hunny got me some stamps and a couple more Copics. He really knows the way to my heart, lol. Here is a card made using the Sketch Saturday sketch . I've also combined this with All Sorts 3,2,1 challenge . I used 3 buttons, 2 patterned papers, and one image. Isn't this the sweetest kitty? I really don't like cats, but I love this image. As a side note, (and I hope this doesn't offend anyone) hubby jokingly says "Bella likes cats- she just can't eat a whole one by herself yet". Bella is our 10-month old Malinois shephard. Stamp: Purrfectly Delightful GKD Paper: Cosmo Cricket Accents: Buttons, Making Memories stitches Thanks for looking!

I'm back in the closet!

Hehe, my craft closet that is. I spent several hours today cleaning up my office and scrap/stamp room. Since my craft work space is literally in the walk in closet, I now have things back in place and the table cleaned off so I can work in there. After I finished cleaning, I made another card for the Jacksonbelle Embellishments New Years Eve Challenge . #4 was to make a birthday card. Great for me, I will need two birthday cards by the end of this month, so I now have one of them done. I used Jen's Sketch For You to Try . There I was organizing my scraps and purging what I decided was too little to keep or that I am so uninspired by and dang, if she didn't post a sketch that was perfect for those scraps! Stamp: cupcake by imaginisce Patterned Paper: Doodlebug Accents: Stickles Tools: Nestabilities scallop circles

Show Us Your Sheetload

I found yet another great sketch site this month - www.sheetload.blogspot.com They publish a monthly ezine with a SKETCH! (you know by now I LOVE sketches) and directions for making several cards at one time. Great for Christmas and those other holidays when you need multiple cards. They also have a monthly contest. Here is my card that I created with this month's sketch: I used my new paper from Cosmo Cricket Wonderland . The flower is from the Dollar Tree. I placed an epoxy sticker (from the Michael's dollar bin) in the center.

Birthday card

Hope you all had a great weekend. Here is a card I made for a friend's birthday. The image is clip art by Lori Lynn Simms from her Road Rippers Set at PCCrafter . The card itself was inspired by a sketch (SC150) at Splitcoaststampers . It has lots of layers and eyelets. I might repeat this design so I can use up my stash of eyelets.

Sketch inspired

It's Thursday and I don't have a particular technique to share this week. I just couldn't get it together, so I'm sharing just a tidbit about using sketches for inspiration. If you don't know where to begin in designing a card or layout, there is a wealth of inspiration in sketches. I use them all the time. This week I was doing some surfing and found this wonderful blog by Maria Bell . Actually there is more than one blog by her. I used this sketch she posted to create a card. Here's my card: The great thing about sketches is that you can use the same one to create another card with a different look. I used this same sketch for this card. Different papers and a different placement of the embellishments creates a whole new card. Find some sketches and see how many ways you can use the same one. There are some links here on my blog for sketches. Have fun. Oh, and you can look for these cards to go on sale in my shop soon!
