St. Patrick's Day "Kiss Me" Mason Jar Treat Jar

Want to give your sweetie some treats for St. Patrick's Day? Nothing better than a mason jar full of Hershey's kisses with almonds.  They come with gold wrappers and fit nicely with a St. Patrick's day theme.  Here's the jar I fixed up for my hubby:     All you need is:   a quart mason jar treats embellishments free "Kiss Me I'm Irish" printable cupcake liner     I used a free printable from Classy Clutter.  I filled my jar with almond kisses and topped the jar with a green chevron cupcake liner. I pulled some green twine and sparkly wire embellishment from my stash to embellish the jar top. Then I jazzed up a band of cardstock with a piece of washi tape and wrapped it around the jar, securing with a bit of hot glue. Then I attached the printable. I also embellished the printable with a piece of ribbon. This was a fun little gift to create with scraps from my stash. Hope this gives you a little inspiration f

Fall Tablescape

I'm way ahead of the curve for fall this year. I don't normally due any "fall" decorating until Thanksgiving. We just go from summer to Halloween. This year is different. After putting together my mason jar centerpiece , I just had to go ahead and complete a fall tablescape. The current tablescape had been there since February so it was time for a change. The leaf placemats and champagne colored napkins, along with the wood napkin rings were all purchased at one of our local thrift stores.  White plates, bowls, BHG leaf salad plates and a faux pumpkin in each bowl make up the place settings. A couple of more votives and some cute squirrel ornaments that I found at Tuesday Morning add to the centerpiece. I even stuck one of the squirrels in the tray with the jars. Hope you've enjoyed viewing my fall tablescape. I rounded up even more ideas HERE . Linking up with Tablescape Thursday and these great parties: Think Pink Sundays * Un

Fall Mason Jar Centerpiece

Here's an easy way to add a little fall to your home- a simple centerpiece. I started with an empty tray that I picked up at the thrift store. If you don't have a tray, find a large platter or plate, anything that will ground your centerpiece. The dollar stores often have clear or silver platters for a dollar. Those would work. Next I took three mason jars and filled them with beans and pumpkin spice votives. These are actually Ball canning jars, but I think mason jar has become synonymous with any canning jar, so we'll call them mason jars. I place them in the center of my tray and then arranged a faux leaf garland around them. I filled in with faux pumpkins and gourds and some berry picks. Quick, easy and simple, and I now have a touch of all in my home. Just waiting for the air to cool! A Shabby Chic Valentine's Mantel

I really wanted to create a winter white mantel after Christmas, but to be honest with you, my mantel remained bare for about three weeks after we finally got Christmas packed away. So instead, I incorporated some white pieces into my Valentine's mantel and used the shabby white cloth garland I made for my parents' fiftieth wedding reception as inspiration to create somewhat of a shabby chic look. I used a white birdcage with a pair of white birds inside. I left the white and gold bow on it- gold decor is growing on me now. I also placed some glitter heart picks from the Dollar Tree in a white thrift store vase. I'm also using the same red frame I used last year  during Valentine's and on last year's fall mantel. I love that I have a collection of things I can swap out season to season. On the other side I'm using my glitter heart mason jar and the punched heart specimen art I made three years ago when I first started decorating for Valentine's

Glitter heart mason jar

I haven't forgotten that Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. I just haven't had time to do much crafting or decorating for it yet because I've been getting ready for a bigger love celebration- my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. I promise to share details and projects from the reception next week. I did manage to squeeze in a few minutes to make this heart glitter jar. I'm sure you've seen other versions around the web with paint or glitter. I had an old mason jar that has some sort of film on it that I can't get off so I though it would be better suited covered in glitter. I decided to add a few heart "cutouts" to it for Valentine's day. I grabbed my heart punch and some left over vinyl.   I applied the hearts to the jar. (See that gross film? I'm about to cover most of it up. Some of it was from my attempt at cleaning the jar and I was able to get that off later where it was showing through my hearts.)
