Lucky mini burlap canvas art

SO... what did I do with that one last clover from the Dollar Tree pack of 12 ?  I made it the star of it's own piece of art. I took a 6x6 inch burlap canvas and glued a glitter clover to the center. Then I took some thickers stickers from my stash and hot glued them on too, spelling out lucky.   Easy and quick! I think this is my favorite St. Patrick's Day project so far. Have a great weekend! Framed clovers

Remember my $7 St. Patrick's Day wreath from last week? And remember how I said I had leftovers? Here is another project from that $7 batch of supplies- framed clover art.   I took the leftover foam clovers and started laying them out on my work table, alternating glitter clovers and plain ones. When I had nine of them laid out, I realized they would fit perfectly on a sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper. So I grabbed a sheet of green paper and my glue gun. Then I ran off to Michael's (well not literally- it was a day or two later) and picked up a 12x12 frame that was 40% off, making this investment less than $7. I can swap out the art by season- I'm already picturing the next batch of seasonal foamies from the Dollar Tree in here!   The pack of $1 foam clovers had 12 in it- two are on the wreath, nine here. Where is the 12th one? Stay tuned! Yet another project!   Linking up here:   Under the Table and Dreaming * Sundae Scoop * * DIY Sunda

$7 Lucky St. Patrick's Day wreath

I mentioned on Monday when I posted my round up of 17 St. Patrick's Day ideas that I never craft or decorate for this holiday, but here are the results of the lure of all those fun shiny things at the Dollar Tree: a wreath for $7 total.   Below are the supplies (all found at Dollar Tree)   vine wreath garland clover pack of foam clovers three stems of flowers (I used three different ones) Leprichaun hats   This was pretty quick to assemble too. Aren't all my projects? If they aren't quick, I don't have time to do them.   I grabbed the hot glue gun and glued the garland shamrock to the top half of the wreath. I cut the stems from the flowers and arranged them on the bottom until they almost met the shamrock. Then I filled in with a couple of the foam shamrocks. Then I glued (er, melted the hat- be careful with that plastic) to the shamrock.        This was a lot of fun...and I have supplies left over. So it really cost less t

Mini towel basket

Today I'm sharing a quick little update I made to a mini laundry basket. It's so easy I'd hardly call it a craft, but for me the results are big and I love the visual interest it creates. I ran across this post from Creative Green Living a while back and was inspired to make my own version. I already a Dollar Tree basket in place in the laundry room on top of the washer for dish towels. It's easier to toss them there than to take them out to where the other dirty laundry is stored. (Nope - the other dirty laundry is not in the laundry room because I don't really have a laundry ROOM. It's a pass through to the kitchen just big enough for the washer and dryer). I love typography, fonts and labels so this was perfect for me. It might seem weird to you but I love having the label on the basket. Here's the before: And the after: I cut my letters from black vinyl using my Silhouette SD and Franklin Gothic Demi font. I measured the area that

Coastal Patriotic mantel

Yesterday I showed you my beach themed summer mantel decor. Today I'm back to show you how I've updated that same decor to a patriotic look and for less than $10. I picked up some patriotic paper fans from the Dollar Tree. They came two to a pack, one large and one small. I'll go ahead and tell you to expect to need a few more supplies to make them work. One of mine was missing string and one was missing the adhesive strip to hold it together. I also took extra adhesive to get them to stay together in the middle and not fold in half. I hung them from my mantel on clear Command hooks. You could also make a garland with them. I placed some red votives I already had on hand on each side. I purchased some small flags from Michael's and added them to the succulent arrangement. I took the fan with no string and adhered a small dowel to the back and stuck it in my shell filled hurricane.  I also picked up the picture frame from Tuesday Morning for $3.99. I placed

Homemade air freshner

It's been a busy week so I haven't been able to post much. We were getting ready for a friend's wedding and I did make a project for that which I'll share later.

DIY snow globes

I just put up my Must Do Monday post featuring Santa crafts and normally I wouldn't post again, but I'm so excited about this little project that I just had to go ahead and share it. I'm sure you are seeing these all over the web, but if you haven't tried making your own waterless snow globes, you've got to. Especially if you like quick and easy with big returns. I think these are the most adorable things ever. All you need is some jars, ribbon, washi tape or paint, glue, bottle brush trees and Christmas village minatures or ornaments, and faux snow or epsom salts. I got my trees and figures from the Dollar Tree. I used a spaghetti jar, pickle jar, and salsa jar. ( I like to repurpose.) Thus the need for paint, ribbon or washi tape. You will need to cover the writing on the lid. I went with ribbon but paint or washi tape would cover the lid color and writing completely. I just glued a piece of ribbon around the lid edge. If you use a mason jar, you can s
