Everyone's getting ready for Valentine's Day. It will be here in a month. Here are 14 projects to inspire your Valentine's Day decor.

DIY Baker's twine - Tried it Out Thursday

Hey ya'll! We're getting closer to Friday. I'm still working on some Valentine's things, and doing so as frugally as possible and with what I have on hand. You may have seen these  heart doily jars on pinterest or in blogland. Sumo made her version with baker's twine. I wanted to make some using heart shaped doilies and baker's twine, but I didn't have baker's twine and didn't want to buy any. So what did I do? I made my own baker's twine, inspired by this tutorial here .   I didn't follow the video and I didn't have crochet thread. This is what I had: the cotton twine from my disastrous twine balls! I grabbed it up along with a red marker and stretched some out on a piece of paper. I just colored every 1/4 inch or less, flipped it over, and colored again. Note: I did get ink on my hands doing it this way, so the video tutorial may be a better way. Nonetheless, I made my own baker's twine. Then I used it with some

Happy hearts

I've taken a little break from the cleaning and organizing to craft something. I mean, the craft room is clean and organized ( I have just a few touches to add before I unveil it) so shouldn't I enjoy this room? Back at Halloween I made treat bag toppers, so I've adapted that to Valentine's Day and made Valentine heart toppers . These are made with Marvy Mega and Giga heart punches. The plain heart is the mega and the scalloped heart is from the Giga punch. I used a 1 1/2 inch  circle punch to punch out the circle words from The Cutting Cafe.  I applied ink to the edges of the circles. Everything is stacked and mounted with pop dots for dimension. A piece of pipe cleaner is run through two holes in the largest heart to serve as a twist tie. These are easy and fun to make. I'll be linking up to the parties on the side. Thanks for stopping by!

A bucket full of love

Verve's project parade theme this month is Tags, Tins & Treats. You must go to their blog and see all the awesome projects by the DT members. For my project I've used a red tin bucket I bought a couple of years ago on after Christmas clearance. I've filled it with paper flowers and Hershey's miniatures wrapped in custom wrappers that I have stamped with some Studio G clear stamps. I embellished the bucket with a tag and ribbon. This has been sent out to some family members. I hope they receive it in one piece. The Pink Elephant is calling for Valentine's projects and Simon Says is looking for "love". My bucket is certainly full of "love".

Valetine treat holder

I'm sharing this cute hanging treat holder I made for Valentine's Day. Some of you may remember the ones I did at Christmas. I will again fill this with drink mixes and hang it on a bottle of water for a family member. I've combined a few challenges with this one. DareU2DigiStamp called for hearts and Valentines. I've used a Pure Innocence digi image . Paper Sundaes is looking for Valentines and Saturday Spotlight issued a "tiny" challenge. I've got a tiny button on the heart. I colored my image with copics. Here are the colors I used:
