Thanks

Happy Friday! It's a beautiful sunny day here in Ohio. The hubs spent the morning at Sweet P's school for a Veteran's Day assembly. It's a small gym, so it was veterans only. That's okay, they need those special times together too! Our girl was chosen as one of the students to read a poem to the veterans. She was very excited to surprise her papa! My morning was spent putting this card together for The Flower Challenge

This SB Cosmos panel was already foiled so I grabbed the stencils and got to work! I used warm autumn colors then framed it with this pretty PTI Border Bling die. My favorite Altenew thanks fit perfectly. Easy peasy and I love the way it turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Us GIrls #750 ~ You make me happy

It's stencil week at Just Us Girls and I've pulled out one that's been in my stash for quite some time. Take a look...

I think I won this Altenew stencil a few years ago. I've barely used it, so it was just begging to be inked up! I inked up half of it in rainbow colors. Next, I heat embossed a Simply Graphic sentiment in gold then mounted the panel on a watermelon mat. CAS and easy peasy.

What stencil will you reach for this week? It really doesn't matter which one. Just pick one and come play along!

Just Us Girls #730 ~ Have a Good Day

Hey there! Ready for a new challenge at Just Us Girls? Carol Mc is our hostess this week. She's given us Pink and Aqua to work with. It a new month and that means a new guest designer will be joining us. Please stop by to say hello to Jane Taylor! Welcome, Jane we're happy to have you!

I brought out my pretty IO Primrose stamp to play. It was heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum then Copic colored. When this was completed, I ran the panel through my Switch machine with the lovely Dotted Swirls Debossing die by Altenew. My greeting from TSM was also heat embossed. Layered and simple!

As you read this, we're off for a vacation to the US Virgin Island of Saint Croix! I'm unplugging, relaxing and enjoying lots of family time!

Just Us Girls #725 ~ Have a Beautiful Day

Hey there! It Color Week at Just Us Girls and the start of a new month. That means a new guest designer. Please join me in welcoming Jenny Martin who will be with us for the month of May!

May in Ohio says lilacs to me, so I inked up this pretty branch by Impression Obsession. It was stamped first in gray ink, next in Versa Mark, then heat embossed with clear powder before coloring with Copics. I cut the panel with a PTI postage die. The sweet gingham Teardrop Butterflies are by Poppystamps and the sentiment is Altenew. Easy peasy!

I look forward to seeing what you do with our colors this week.
It's sure to be a pretty gallery!

Just Us Girls #724 ~ Cherish Every Kindness

It's stencil week at Just Us Girls!
Anything goes as long as you use a stencil.

I've used the pretty Altenew Golden Days stencil set for today's card. It's a big flower that fills a card panel beautifully. After stenciling, I cut the panel with the Pinkfresh Folk Edge die. This was layered onto a light pink panel then the white card base. I thought this lovely Poppystamps sentiment paired well with this fine flower!

We hope you'll pull out some of your stencils and whip up a card for our gallery!Speaking of galleries, I'm adding this one to The Paper Players!

That's it from me today. We're off to Sweet P's third grade concert this evening. I'm told there will be singing and playing of the recorders!

Just Us Girls #718 Reminder

Hey there! I'm popping in today with a reminder that there's still time to play along in the Just Us Girls / Time Out Challenges collaboration! Playing along with either challenge automatically links you up to the other gallery too.

Check out the reminder card I made!

I knew I wanted to use this pair of chickadees by Impression Obsession. Altenew's Beautiful Day set gave me the perfect spot for them to perch and the IO sentiment topped things off. The patterned paper was a surprise gift from Sweet P. She found a cute pad of patterned paper for $2 while on a shopping trip and thought of me. That's my girl!

Alrighty, you have until March 27th to play along.

We do hope you'll join us!

Blessed

I'm still taking advantage of the "stay in because it's freezin' season" mindset, how about you? It was a good time to use a couple of new products from those holiday sales! This card will be heading to the gallery over at The Paper Players.

Take a look...

Anne Marie is hosting and has asked for cards with black, white plus a pop of bold color. Red popped into my mind! I picked up a 12x12 sheet of scrapbook paper at JoAnn last summer. It was covered in pretty little houses with leaves and flowers tucked behind them. I used it here with my new cover plate from Mama Elephant. Oh my goodness, I'll probably use it until you are all sick of seeing it! It's topped with a pretty MB Poppy die. I just realized I added the front petal upside down. I'll fix it before mailing! The leaves are from the Altenew Weekend Doodles set. Hope you like it!

Thanks so much for taking a peek. Have a blessed day.

Thanks

Hello lovelies! I took advantage of a drizzly gloomy day to make a couple of cards. I'll be sharing this one over at The Flower Challenge. They're celebrating their 7th Birthday! This is my thank you to Aileen and Viv for all of the hard work they put into this challenge over the years. Thanks ever so much, ladies!

I was a lucky winner of an Altenew gift certificate recently. This Golden Days stencil set came home to live with me! This set creates one big bloom. I went off the edge on a white panel using warm October colors and then debossed it with another favorite Altenew product. Next, I die cut the panel using an ancient Spellbinders labels set. This gorgeous thanks die is also Altenew.

Off this goes to the birthday gallery!

Today is a Glorious Day

Lisa K. is hosting WORD WEEK for us at Just Us Girls!

I had the perfect pair for my card.

My sweet friend Mari sent me a get well gift card from Altenew following my hand surgery. Thanks again, Mari! This pair of love birds and matching die were part of my purchase. They sure look pretty layered on my Vintage Scalloped Heart by Poppystamps! I stamped a little greenery and the sentiment onto the card base before adding this sweet pair with foam tape.

We don't have any weddings coming up so I sent this out for a wedding anniversary! No weddings for you? How about an anniversary or engagement. Those involve weddings too!

Sending Hugs

I squeezed in a little crafty time this weekend and put together a card for the Tic, Tac Toe challenge. I used the left vertical line: flowers, embossing & encouragement. Hmm... is sending hugs considered encouragement? Or I guess I could use the line: flowers, yellow and gems. But then again, are gold confetti pieces gems?

I'll also add this to the gallery over at The Paper Players where Anne Marie has a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us. I used the top horizontal line: bright colors, layers & embossing.

I started with die cut roses from Altenew. I heat embossed them in gold then Copic colored them. They're adhered to a lovely PTI bookmark die along with the sentiment and gold confetti. I layered everything onto an embossed panel sent to me by a friend. I think that friend was Greta. She's so good about enclosing something pretty with her marvelous cards!

Thanks for spending a bit of your time with me!

You are the Best

Happy Saturday, friends! Bobby has a great pair of colors for us at Just Us Girls this week ~ Terra-cotta and Green. We also have the wonderful Joanne James joining us as our guest designer for the month of April! Welcome, Joanne!

Now I gotta tell ya... the colors threw me for a loop! I don't know why, they go together beautifully! It was a real creative block until I started digging through my supplies! An idea was born after finding the perfect stamp and die set.

PTI's Mat Stack 3 sparked that idea. I used Canyon Clay ink as my version of Terra-cotta. The YOU portion of my sentiment was double stamped, then stamped with Versa Mark and clear embossed. One of my favorite cover plates was used for the card front. I added my die cut then draped on some greenery and a pair of flowers. Colors that had me completely befuddled turned into a card that I absolutely love!

We hope you can join us this week!

Thinking of You

A rainy day means a crafty day! After completeing a couple of DT assignments, I made a card for fun. Freshly Made Sketches had the perfect sketch for my jumping off point. Take a look...

When I saw the large rectangle in the sketch, I was determined to dig into my plethora of 6x6 paper pads to make something work! I found a 'not too in your face' lacy paper that worked perfectly with some vellum and PTI's Mix and Mat: Scallop dies. The W&W rose was cut with a coordinating striped paper. A gold embossed sentiment seemed the right fit as did a few bits of gold confetti. I like a pretty thinking of you sentiment. It works for so many different occasions!

Thinking of you and wishing you a good day!

Just a Note

Hello lovelies! It's time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls. Ina is hosting color week for us. She's looking for cards using turquoise, mustard and black.

A new month brings a new guest designer. I'm happy to say that my sweet friend Michele Ferguson of I Card Everyone will be joining us for the month of March! You'll want to pop by the Just Us Girls blog to see what she and the team have to share.

Here's what I've done with Ina's colors!

I finally inked up my Altenew's Weekend Doodles then colored them with Copics. They looked a little lonely, so I added some speckles (PRS) here and there. Then I sprinkled on a few rhinestones for good measure!

I do hope I've inspired you to join us this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

With Sympathy

I received a Galentine from my sweet friend Greta yesterday with a pretty embossed panel enclosed. The color was perfect for this week's challenge at The Paper Players. Thanks, Greta, you helped to make this card a quick one!

The pretty EF Greta used was calling for butterflies. This darling pair by Simply Graphic were just the right size. I punched some teeny tiny polka dots for their wings from the trimmings of the floral panel. A simple sentiment finished things off nicely. I don't need a symapthy card, thank goodness, but have one ready now for when that time comes.

Happy Valentine's Day friends!
Thanks for visiting!

For You With Love

It's color week at Just Us Girls where yours truly is hosting! Kraft and white are always wonderful together. Throw in a little pink, even better! I hope you'll join us and our February guest designer, Karen Walker.

A friend (thanks Mari!) recently gifted me an Altenew gift certificate as a get well wish following my hand surgery. I bought a couple of pretty mini bundles. This darling Magnolia Heart was one of them. My coloring could be better in those itty bitty flowers. Gripping the Copic is still a bit tricky, but I'm getting there!

I layered the hearts on my favorite PTI tag. That pretty pink embossed paper was a treat in my birthday card from sweet Michele. Next came the panel cut from a delightful SSS cover plate and finally a pretty little bow (TSM) cut from patterned paper.

I hope I've inspired you to play along!

I look forward to seeing what's in our gallery this week!

Thank You

Hello and Happy New Year! I'm rolling out my first card post thumb surgery. Things are getting better. Still working on movement and strength. I thought going the route of die cuts and letting the electric machine do the work was the way to go. But then I had to glue all the pieces parts together! Couldn't squeeze the glue bottle, so I had to go lefty. Let's just say it took a LONG TIME to put this baby together! Oh, and then I had to try to photograph it with the hubs heavy camera ~ holy smokes! I sure hope the ladies at Color Hues like it!

I treated myself to this pretty set of peony dies from a Birch Press Design sale for Christmas. They were cut from paper with a soft pink pattern on it. I love the leaves and centers all dolled up in gold! I used matching gold paper on the PFS frame. The embossed panel is from my sweet friend Greta. A simple sentiment went onto an old Spellbinders label. My hubby thought it was a classy card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I'll be back this weekend with my card for Just Us Girls. We've switched things up in our weekly rotation by swapping out a couple of a challenges for couple of new ones!

Give Thanks

Hey there! The days just seem to be whizzing by lately. I've been working on Christmas cards, trying to get caught up ~ OY! But I did finally manage to get a card made for a challenge or two. This one is for Color Hues and Sunday Stamps.

Using Carved Pumpkin and Peeled Paint inks, I randomly stamped a panel using PRS leaves, grid and dots. After die cutting it with a PPP banner I added it to a panel cut with an Altenew cover plate. I opted for ribbon as the top portion of the Sunday Stamps sketch then popped on a DeNami circular sentiment. I'll hand deliver this one to my mom and dad so a button seemed like a good finishing touch. I haven't used one of those in a while!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Home Sweet Home

Hey there!

It's color week at Just Us Girls

Check out those pretty autumn colors from Lisa K.!

I reached for this sweet Waffle Flower set (Home Sweet Home). It was stamped, die cut then Copic colored before adding it to a stenciled (Altenew: Leaf Burst) panel. This Wonky Recteangles die set from MFT never gets old!

Okay friends, now it's your turn. We do hope you'll add your card to our gallery! You'll find more incredible inspiration from the DT and our October guest designer, Lynne over at Just Us Girls!

Hey There

Hey there, peeps it's time for a new Just Us Girls challenge! Bobby is hosting and she's looking for cards with stenciling. Easy enough!

I pulled out a cute leafy stencil I picked up from Simply Graphic. I cut that panel with a PPP banner die the popped on a few Altenew posies and a little scrap of plaid paper. Super quick considering those flowers were already die cut!

Okay, now it's your turn! Come on, you know you have a stencil or two in your stash!

Happy Birthday

Hey there! It's time for another installment of Just Us Girls! Sue is our hostess this week giving us a refreshing photo for inspiration. See if you can spot something that caught me eye!

I had a eucalyptus panel (PS) leftover from a stamping get-together with Michele. I think they've retired this set ~ shucks. Using a PPP banner die, I cut the panel at an angle to get some length. I topped this with snippet of die cut patterned paper. This was all popped onto a mini slimline with some fun foam. Another sprig or two for balance and a pretty birthday wish (TSM) wrapped it up!

How about a bonus card?

Not wanting that last bit of eucalyptus to go to waste, I popped a piece of patterned paper into the opening, added a fancy Altenew thank you, sprinkled on a few gems and voila... bonus card!

We do hope you'll join us this week. Who knows, maybe you'll end up with a bonus card too and can enter twice!
