Christmas at The Paper Players!

Hey there! Did you have a good weekend? Ours was very busy, but productive! This is a quick post with a card for The Paper PlayersThey have a Christmas theme challenge this week. Yeah... I have a few of those cards!

I'm kind of crushing on this card! I do love they way those pretty little polka dot poinsettias (WF) look with their sparkly centers! The tag and knit embossed panel are a few last bits from The 12 Kits of Occasions.

Thanks for visiting.

I'll be back soon with a fun Poppystamps card!

Happy Birthday to You!

Hey there! I was doing a little clean up in my wee studio and found one last bit of scraps from a 12 Kits of Occasions kit. This pretty scrap of paper was calling my name and here is where it landed! It will also be landing in the Seize the Birthday gallery.

*Well, I missed that deadline! Oh well, hope you enjoy it*

Golly gumdrops I do love this paper! It was already cut in this wonky shape, so I went with it. The paintbrush tips were colored to match the paper. I layered everything together then framed it out with a RC stitched frame. Just a little something bright and happy that will go to someone special!

Thanks to those of you checking up on my hand recovery, you do know how to make a girl feel loved! The doctor said everything looks great! Range of motion, movement and all of those little boxes checked. He said I can expect swelling and pain to continue through June/July though ~ yikes! Lots of PT to keep building strength. Right now writing, scissors and using a mouse are the hardest. But I'll get there. After-all, my hubby does call me a spitfire! Now if I could just get that mojo to kick into full gear!

Live Your Dream

It's officially summer and Vicki has the perfect inspiration photo for this week's Just Us Girls to celebrate it! I zoomed in on the hibiscus blooms and the shades! Take a look...

These die cut tropical leaves were in my 12 Kits leftovers. I layered them up with some DeNami hibiscus blooms that I stamped and fussy cut. I popped them onto my card that was stamped with my PRS glasses and sentiment. See that bright sunshine? All those sparkling clear sequins are my nod to it!

There are so many directions you can go with this photo. What ever direction you take, I hope it leads you to our gallery!

My Hero

Happy Saturday! It's time for a new Just Us Girls challenge. Elizabeth is hosting and she's looking for a moving element on your cards. I had a fun leftover from The 12 Kits of Occasions to use, but there are lots of options: wobblers, sliders, shakers...!

My leftover was a Reveal Wheel by Lawn Fawn. It's a fun die set that lets the recipient turn the wheel to reveal four different sentiments in a window opening ~ movement! I added a little knight in shining armor (Darcie's) to the front. The rocks are Stamps by Judith. Now that I look at this, it kind of reminds me of King Arthur's sword being pulled from the stone!

Here's a peek at the other sentiments.

Alrighty friends... get movin'!

A Little Silliness

What a fun challenge Carol has for us this week!
It pushed me out of my comfort zone and into this little bit of silliness for our Just Us Girls challenge!

My card base was made using an old Spellbinders Labels die. The silly chicks and patterned papers are all leftovers from The 12 Kits of Occasions. These were also cut with the label die then added to the card front. That wee bit of strawberry paper (so pretty!) was glued on and hand trimmed. The sentiment was just the right size to fit the PPP label die. If you look closely, you'll see the score line at the top to make the card easy to open.

Okay, put on those thinking caps and have some fun!

Thanks

I spent part of this rainy day making a card or two. This one is for Color Hues. They're looking for navy and pink. I had to search high and low for navy, but I found some!

I found a piece of navy paper (12 Kits leftovers) that was just the right size to die cut this PTI bookmark. I popped it onto a cute die cut panel (SSS). While I was searching for all things navy, I found these flowers (also 12 Kits leftovers) and colored them up with Copics. I used another wee snippet of navy paper for a bow (The Stamp Market) to ground the flowers. A vellum sentiment (Altenew) tops it all off.

Off we go to the gallery!

It's Birthday Time!

Our great nephews, identical twins, will be turning six next month! This calls for a couple of action themed cards for the little fellas! I've used the Sunday Stamps sketch for the designs. Take a look...

I had a couple of ninjas in my 12 Kits of Occasions leftovers. They were a perfect pairing with brick stenciled (WF) panels. I put them on wobblers, I think the boys will enjoy that! I flipped the sketch for the second card to flow with the direction of the ninja.

One for Mr. Kristian and one for Mr. Adrian!

Inspired By #195 ~ White Christmas

"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas"... and then the snow can go away LOL! Although I could go for some snow like that in our Inspired By photo. You don't have to shovel or snow blow paper snow!

You guessed it, I was inspired by those pretty white snowflakes! The pine trees also caught my eye.

My hubby called this one a cold card... brrr!!

This pretty snowflake panel was another 12 Kits leftover. I turned it into a shaker filled with frosty bits from PPP. My Taylored Expressions ship-lap stamp provided a soft background. Keeping the promise I made to myself to use older stamp sets this year, I added two trees from PTI's Holiday Folk set. I think I've overlooked this set for too long. You'll probably be seeing more of it in the coming weeks! And yes, I did slip in another of my favorite sentiments from The Greetery!

Okay friends, put on your mittens and get frosty with us!

Hello Autumn!

Our final day of summer is a gray and rainy one. A good day to do some card making. I put this little number together for The Paper Players and Just Us Girls challenges.

This darling little girl was left over from The 12 Kits of Occasions. I used colored pencils today since I don't have a true red Copic marker. Her turtleneck and shoe laces are colored in with a glitttery Gelly Roll pen. It's on the rake too, but this gray day wouldn't let me capture that! Don't you love this Echo Park embossing folder?  I thought it added just the right touch of autumn.

Thanks for spending a little of your day with me,

I appreciate it more than you know!

Joy!

Hello lovelies! I'm popping in for a quick minute this afternoon with a card for the Just Us Girls challenge. They're looking for shakers. Count me in!

This one went together quickly with leftovers from my 12 Kits of Occasions goodies. I've used my well loved ME mat set to cut the kraft polka dotty snowflake paper. I wish I had oodles more of that stuff! One of my leftover tags was the perfect fit with the pretty 'joy' die cut. I filled it with the shaker bits, added some twine and called it a day!

Thanks for stopping by.

I'll be back tomorrow with...

Well, you'll just have to stop by to see!

Joyful Holiday Greetings

Well, they say we have a winter storm headed our way ~ ugh. It seems we go from mowing to snow blowing too quickly! On a happier note, I have a snowy card to share for The Paper Players challenge. Take a look...

Yep, more 12 Kits of Occasions leftovers! I chose the top row on the tac-tac-toe board - patterned paper, die cut & embossing. This bear came with snow goggles, but I opted to leave them off. I wanted more of her cute little face to show! She's sledding her way down a gumdrop slope cut with a PPP border die. The sentiment is from a PTI set. I love the way this turned out!

I suppose I'll have to break in those new snow boots I picked up in September. Wish me luck!

Joy

Hi sweet peeps! I'm squeaking one in at the last minute today for the Sunday Stamps challenge.

Once again I've used 12 Kits of Occasions leftovers. The stripe and garland papers are from my stash along with the PPP sequins in the shaker.

Off I dash to their gallery. Have a great weekend!

Inspired By #149 ~ Merry & Bright

Hey there! It's Thursday... Inspired By day!

I had the perfect sentiment from a previous 12 Kits of Occasions kit. After adding it to a wood grain patterned paper circle, I was completely stumped on how to use it! It didn't look right on anything I tried. I kept coming back to the photo. Finally that gray throw (I think!) the circles were laying on jumped out at me. Enter some cute reindeer paper and this story has an ending!

I can't wait to see how you and my teammates are inspired.

The suspense is killing me!

Autumn Wishes

Hi friends! I'm popping in for a quick minute today with my entry for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

My patterned paper and adorable little mouse are leftovers from previous 12 Kits of Occasions kits. I added a PRS (Fall Colors) sentiment.

Okay, I'm off to spend the rest of the day with my guy.

He just finished mowing the lawn!

Bouquet of Love

Hello lovelies, how is everyone holding up? I'm doing much better now that I've had a dose of Sweet P! We've had a few  distanced front yard visits, but she actually spent a few hours with us the other day while mommy gathered her up students belongings for pick up. As you all know too well, it was long overdue!

I whipped this up for the Inspired By challenge. Those lovely blooms hanging from the wooden crate drew me in. I also spotted the window in the background. Did you see it? I used a wood textured frame (12 Kits of Occasions) as a nod to it.

My dangling flowers were provided by IO. So was the sentiment. It's stamped on a RC banner and then everything went onto a PTI banner/tag that had a little surgery to shorten it up.

Thanks so much for visiting with me today.
Stay safe.

12 Kits of Occasions, a specail blog hop

Hello and welcome. As you may know, The 12 Kits of Occasions lost a member of the design team recently. Sharron Gregory passed away peacefully at home on March 30th. Design team members, past and present, are joining together today for a blog hop in honor of our sweet friend.

Upon visiting the 12 Kits blog, you'll find a friendship card from each of the designers. When you follow the link to their personal blog, you'll find their card and a memory shared about Sharron.

My memory of Sharron comes from the 4th birthday card I had made for my granddaughter and shared on my blog. I mentioned we would be giving her a Calico Critters doll house, car and Sweet Pea bunny family. Sharron commented that she used to buy her granddaughter Calico Critters and so enjoyed shopping for her and all of the cute characters. From then on, every time I looked into the teepee at those toys, I thought of Sharron.

When my little Sweet P plays with her set (it's at our house) she has a mommy, daddy, gramma, papa and Sweet P bunny. There's one extra bunny and she always asks me who it should be. It's usually a pre-school friend or someone we know. When this pandemic is over and Sweet P can come to gramma's house again, I think that bunny will have a new and permanent name... Sharron

Guesting at The 12 Kits of Occasions!

I've taken a big leap today (see what I did there!!) into a guest design spot at The 12 Kits of Occasions! Jeanne is the February hostess. She put together some extra kits inviting several friends to join in the crafty fun. You'll have to head over to the 12 Kits blog to see who else is playing along with the team. And away we go...

First up is some beautiful PP filling in for my painting!

One for Mister Adrian...

And one for Mister Kristian...

Two of our great-nephews (twins!) are turning 4 in a few days. I think they'll enjoy these RC critters I put on wobblers!

And how about this lil' cutie for Sweet P! We have a bunny who visits our backyard just about every night. We put lettuce and carrots out for him to enjoy. Sweet P loves doing this on her afternoon with me. We gave her a book for Valentines Day about a bunny who has his first nighttime outing with his mommy. It's really cute and makes me wonder what other adventures our bunny has each night!

Okay kids, you have 24 extra hours, a whole day! Let's spend some of it together checking out what the 12 Kits team has to share!

12 Kits ~ Leftovers!

Welcome friends! While the ladies of The 12 Kits of Occasions are regrouping for the new year, they have decided to make January the month of leftovers. They've also invited alumni members to play along. So, that's just what I'm doing today!

I've put items from several different kits together using what was provided, a few of my own embellishments, dies and even a sentiment. Take a look...

I frosted this pretty little cake with glitter!

These darling PPs gave me a sweet shaker!

I just glued everything together here then added Stickles to the flower centers.

I colored this cake to match the polka dot panel I had hanging around.

I added a few of my own music notes and sentiment here.

This card and goodie bag will go to the wee one with a sweet treat tucked in!

I'm off to see what creative works of art the team has crafted with their leftovers.

Come join me, the more the merrier!

12 Kits

Yes my friends, 2019 has come to an end and with it comes The 12 Kits of Occasions final kit of the year! Marcia is our hostess with the mostess this month. Her delightful {The Tags of Christmas} kit was filled with tag supplies that practically put themselves together! You can find the kit contents on our supplies page here.

This is my grand finale with the group. It's a bittersweet announcement for me, but I've decided to step down from the design team. I've had such fun with these ladies and am grateful to have been invited into this little family of crafters. They're all a blessing in my life. They have some changes coming for you in 2020 and I'll be right there cheering them on!

Now lets get to it. I have oodles to share!

Aren't these wee animals adorable! I dry embossed Marcia's white tags then popped them onto some PPP tags I die cut from patterned paper. I colored the little llama's head to look like she has on a fuzzy hat!

I don't know if I can handle all of the sweetness here.
Red, kraft and white ~ love it!!

A little penguin for my Sweet P!

I was delighted to see this adorable owl in the kit, he makes me happy!

Isn't the shape of this tag fun!

This guy might be full of joy for his coffee.
I, on the other hand, am full of joy over his sweater!

I decided to turn the last tag into a card. Isn't that a beautiful image! I colored it with Copics, popped it onto a wood grain background and topped it with a PPP die cut sentiment.

Cheers to each of you, my 12 kits teamies! Love you girls!
Happy New Year everyone!
