Just Us Girls # 729 ~ Thanks

Hello! It's time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls. This is CASE a member of the Design Team week. Pop over to the blog to check at out what the team has to share. I did a little upcycling for my card!

I made this tag a few years ago and never used it. It seemed like the perfect time to pop it onto a card.  Before doing that, I stamped the same rings and splatters (both from PRS sets) onto the card base.

Super quick and simple! That's just what I needed since we've been busy with Sweet P's softball games. Here's a look at our girl bringin' the heat!! GO WOLF PACK!!

Have a blessed day!

Just Us Girls #721 ~ Sprinkling Some Happy!

Hello sweet peeps! Are you ready for another Just Us Girls challenge? Ina has picked some happy spring colors for you to create with. We have our April guest designer joining us today. Welcome Colleen Begley, we're so happy to have you with us this month!

While looking for my colors, I came across this small scrap of mustard polka dot paper. It was the jumping off point that took me in this cutesy direction. The fairy chickie is by DeNami Design. She's popped up on a PPP circle tag topped with a ME bow. Her little wings are glittered! Those festive banners are an oldie from Reverse Confetti. I added a few rhinestones in coordinating colors to top everything off.

I look forward to seeing how Ina's colors inspire you. Our gallery is going to be a bright and happy one this week!

Merry Christmas

LeAnne is this week's hostess at The Paper Players. Her challenge is a CAS card with a tag on it. I had the perfect polka dot tag just begging to be used!

The little RC tag was in my pile of Christmas paper snippets to be used up. It was just the right size for this sweet Stacey Yacula (POD) bunny, Birch! I stamped him with kraft ink them clear embossed him and trimmed him out. A couple of holly sprigs by Simply Graphic bring out the green in his cute little hat! I thought the playful font on this DeNami sentiment suited him well.

Off this goes to the gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #701 ~ Thinking of You

Hi friends! I'm hosting our WORD WEEK challenge at Just Us Girls and would love to have you play along. My word is PUMPKIN. It's an easy one, we all have those in our stash!

I think this SSS pumpkin die is making it's debut here today. You know how it goes, you buy a few things then forget to use something! I pulled out a fall 6x6 pad to make a fun patterned pumpkin then popped it onto a panel that was embossed with pumpkins. The banner and sentiment are oldies but goodies from RC. They're heat embossed on vellum.

Okay, now it's your turn. Pop over the the JUGs blog for more pumpkin inspiration from our guest designer, Bonnie and the team!

Just Us Girls #696 ~ I See the Moon...

Hey there and happy Saturday! It's time for a new Just Us Girls challenge. Bobby is hosting this week and her word choice is MOON. I knew just the stamp set I would use. Check it out...

My mom and I were in a little shop on Mackinac Island several years ago when she spotted a pottery sign with this saying on it. She told me it was something my dad often said.  I never knew that! She bought the sign and I bought this stamp set a few years later!

After stenciling the brick, I cut out the arched opening for a window. It was the perfect spot for this little mouse (CCC) to sit and look up at the moon! I'll set this one aside for my dad.

Alright peeps, your turn to moon us!!!

Happy Birthday

When I saw that Seize the Birthday was having a "Be Inspired by a Book" challenge, I had an idea immediately!

This should be pretty recognizable! Charlotte and Wilbur are sending happy birthday wishes! The Poppystamps Country Barn and Whittle Pig came in handy for this one. I had a panel on hand with some shiplap (TE) already stamped on it. It provided me with a good inside for the barn. Then I used the scraps to cut the outside trim. I coordinated the IO grass border and ME bows with Charlotte's eyes!

At the end of this school year, our Sweet P played the part of Narrator #1 for her second grade class play of Charlotte's Web. She nailed it and looked totally adorable all decked out in a little suit!

Hello

I did an early lawn mowing this morning (getting in a little exercise!) before it got too hot. Then I showered and crashed! I found myself in my crafty space whipping up a CAS card for The Flower Challenge when my energy returned.

I Copic colored this pretty Impression Obsession image then die cut it before adding it to the card base. A little strip of polka dot paper grounded it nicely along with a simple Mama Elephant hello. Easy peasy, and off it goes to the gallery!

Thanks for spending a little of your time with me!

Happy Birthday to You!

Hey there! I was doing a little clean up in my wee studio and found one last bit of scraps from a 12 Kits of Occasions kit. This pretty scrap of paper was calling my name and here is where it landed! It will also be landing in the Seize the Birthday gallery.

*Well, I missed that deadline! Oh well, hope you enjoy it*

Golly gumdrops I do love this paper! It was already cut in this wonky shape, so I went with it. The paintbrush tips were colored to match the paper. I layered everything together then framed it out with a RC stitched frame. Just a little something bright and happy that will go to someone special!

Thanks to those of you checking up on my hand recovery, you do know how to make a girl feel loved! The doctor said everything looks great! Range of motion, movement and all of those little boxes checked. He said I can expect swelling and pain to continue through June/July though ~ yikes! Lots of PT to keep building strength. Right now writing, scissors and using a mouse are the hardest. But I'll get there. After-all, my hubby does call me a spitfire! Now if I could just get that mojo to kick into full gear!

tiny baby, silent night

Our cards went in the mail yesterday. Sweet P put all of the postage stamps on for me! She keeps telling me, "Just let me know if your need help gramma."  ♥  More on that at the end of this post. You came here for a card, right? This one will be added to the Christmas Kickstart Challenge gallery.

Nothing says Christmas like baby Jesus! This is a sweet set I picked up from Reverse Confetti during their closing sale. I used a Gellyroll pen on the horn and halo. Wink of Stella gave her those sparkly wings! I added the images to an arched stamped with PFS's winter berry then popped them onto the kraft panel embossed with a folder from SG. The sweet sentiment is one I bought at a stamp convention from a company called Morning Star Stamps. It goes perfectly with this set!

Sweet P spent a few hours with us after school on Friday. I saved the Nativity set as a surprise for her to set up. She carefully unwrapped each piece and wanted to talk about each of them She got so excited when she unwrapped Mary and baby Jesus! She said "They're the most important, gramma!"
"You point where I should put it and I'll do everything. Okay, gramma?"

When she finished she wanted to say a prayer to baby Jesus.

What a blessing this little girl is!

Happy Birthday

It's Color week at Just Us Girls and Lisa K. has a fun combination for us! I don't use teal very often, but found the perfect piece of gingham paper already die cut in my stash just waiting to be used!

I topped my card base with Reverse Confetti's Stitched Notes and Frames, added the gingham die cut, then popped on a cute little Bear in a Pot by Darcie. I bought that little fella at a stamp convention years ago. There is no die for the set, so I trimmed it out to look like it was die cut because it was too fussy to fussy cut! The speech bubble is PPP and I couldn't resist adding a couple of Miss Martha's itty bitty butterflies!

We look forward to seeing what you create with Lisa's colors!

Hugs and Kisses

It's a pretty sunny day in my neck of the woods! That put me in the mood to craft up this little bundle of springtime for The Paper Players.

The other day I used a large flower cone, this is the smaller die from the set. I tucked in a bit of whimsy (all SG)  then popped in onto my layers. They include a stenciled/die cut panel (MFT & SG), patterned paper, a PPP tag die and a matching stenciled sentiment banner (PS & RC).

A sweet little send off to February.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Peace, Love & Joy

Mmmmm, the house smells like pumpkin pie! Hope I can hold out until Thursday! In the mean time, I've distracted myself with a little card making. I have one today for The Paper Players.

I did a little partial stenciling (Taylored Expressions) so that I still had lots of white space. I popped up the gnome (RC), added a couple of die cut stars and a simple holiday sentiment. Another easy one to add to my stash!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Have a Joyful Winter Season

I've been snuggling in and staying warm after an early morning dentist appointment ~ brrr. I had an OLD crown in need of replacement. Routine stuff but I do NOT like mouth pain! Anyway, I'll live!  I have a cute MFT fella for you today. He'll be added to the Just Us Girls gallery for their color challenge.

I already had this RC kraft frame cut. I slipped in a scrap of rustic cream cardstock with my sentiment stamped on it. I popped these onto an aqua mist card base. Then my little hoot flew into place along with a couple of trees.  Easy peasy!

Take care, friends.

Inspired By #189 ~ All the Peels

Hey there! We have a new challenge up at Inspired By today. Michele had the great idea of inviting some of our card making friends to join us this week. Kind of like the monthly feature on her personal blog 'playing cards with friends'. Every member of the design team has invited a guest to join us!

My friend, Vicki Dutcher from All I do is Stamp, is guesting with me today! Be sure to stop by her blog to check out her fabulous card and leave a little love. I'm sure you'll love her creativity as much as I do!

I do love a good crispy sweet Gala apple and you all know I love polka dots! So... I've combined the two! I was also inspired by the kraft color of the burlap tucked into that basket. I couldn't resist some cute fall leaves to sweeten things up a bit.

Don't forget that we have a Christmas photo option as well as a sketch. Three ways to be inspired! What do you say we go see what everyone on the DT and their friends have whipped up. Then we hope you'll invite a friend to play cards with you too! The more the merrier!

Inspired By #188 ~ Colorful Fall

It's officially here, Happy Fall y'all!

Come get colorful with us at Inspired By.

I die cut a few colorful leaves (PPP) of my own for today's card. I broke out of my shell and used some purple for a change. My in house critic gave this one an "eh" LOL! He must not be a purple fan either! But I happen to think our sister-in-law, who's birthday is in November, will enjoy it. Uhhhh.... at least I hope she does and you too!

I'm off to visit my teammies, want to join me? Then you can get busy on your card!

Inspired By #184 ~ Penguin Love

Hello, hello it's time for a new Inspired By challenge! This week is about penguin love and it just so happens that Sweet P loves penguins! I've used our Christmas photo to put together a happy little number I'll send to her this winter.

Using an older RC set, I created a topsy-turvy background with stocking caps and snowflakes. The caps were heat embossed with white embossing powder and colored with Copics. To add to the fun, I filled their pompoms with Stickles! The star of the show is chillin' out on a vellum snowflake (PTI). I didn't add a sentiment because I don't think there's a place on the card front for one! I'll decide on one when the snow flies then add it to the inside.

How will you be inspired this week? Penguins, snowflakes, hats, maybe even that little sprig of holly ~ perhaps the sketch? Oh, the suspense, I can't wait!

Hello

Is it ridiculusly hot where you are? Good grief. This is August weather for us, not June!  After finishing up some of those necessary things around the house this morning, I made a card this afternoon. It's for The Paper Players challenge. Take a look...

I've flipped the sketch, I thought my focal image worked best in this direction. I was lucky enough to win a gift certificate at Reverse Confetti recently and picked out a fun frame set called Stitched Notes and Frames. The largest portion fits an A2 card perfectly! I filled the inside with an anchor embossed panel then added a PPP tag stamped with my favorite summer sweetie!

Off she goes to the gallery at The Paper Players.

Hope you're staying cool, friends!

Sending Hugs & Happy Thoughts

Hi friends! I'm playing along with The Paper Players tonight using a new to me die gifted from a sweet blogging friend. Take a look...

Aren't these Winnie and Walter flowers cute! I've layered them up with their leaves, vellum leaves and a sentiment banner. The butterflies were a last minute addition. Hindsight, I would have left them off. My thought was to balance out the color of the heat embossed sentiment. Oh well...  next time!

Thanks for visiting!

Pretty Blossoms

Hello lovelies, are you ready for a new Inspired By challenge? I was inspired by the colors of the flowers and the wonderfully feminine feel the photo has.

This PTI Mix & Mat Scallops die set is frilly and feminine, don'tcha think? I'm trying to remember if I've used the lacy portion of this set... maybe once before. A vellum version of it seemed a perfect fit for my Impression Obsession posies. I fussy cut and popped them up with foam tape. Then I topped everything with a sentiment banner.

I look forward to seeing how our photo, or sketch, inspires you this week!

Thinking of You

Hello lovelies, it's time for a new Inspired By challenge. Wouldn't this be a fun place to wake up! Now, bright turquoise and coral are not go to colors for me, never have been. But I've gotta tell ya, I'm kinda diggin' my card using them!

Other than the obvious color inspiration, did you spot my shutter? I managed to squeeze in some stripes too. My paper was more of a creamy white so I die cut it to minimize that fact!

How will our photo inspire you ~ colors, stripes, patterns, pieces of coral? In case you're in need of a jumping off point, there's also a sketch for you!
