Hey Friend!

I've been messing around with this card for the Flower Challenge for a few days now. I bought this set from The Stamp Market last year. I think this is only it's second outing. I bought it for the eucalyptus, which I like. The flowers, not so much! I can never seem to get them in a color combination or position on the card that I like. Anyway, this is the result after a few attempts.

I used the two peach tones from the graphic along with the soft yellow and gray. Eucalyptus is typically a more silvery sage green, but I think this one works. I pulled the gray to the front of the card with the pretty Pinkfresh sentiment. What do you think?

I appreciate your thoughts and your visit. I hope you're enjoying your weekend. We're enjoying a much needed cool down!

We have something fun for you this week at Just Us Girls. It's a collaboration with the team at Time Out Challenges!  By entering our linky you will automatically also join at Time Out! This will be a two week challenge running until March 27th. That's lots of time for you to create what 'BIRDS of a FEATHER' means to you and join us!

Whether you join from Just Us Girls or from Time Out, you have a chance to win $25.00 store credit to Waffle Flower Crafts

You can find all of the information needed on the Just Us Girls or Time Out challenge blogs. Okay now for my card!

I lined up a rainbow of Poppystamps birds! They're tucked under an embossed panel that was split for the top and bottom of the card. A pretty little scalloped border (PPP) was added for interest. I like the way the black sentiment (PF) and music notes pick up the black in the bird beaks!

Okay, it's your turn now. Lets fill up those galleries with oodles and oodles of feathered friends!

Thank You

Hello and Happy New Year! I'm rolling out my first card post thumb surgery. Things are getting better. Still working on movement and strength. I thought going the route of die cuts and letting the electric machine do the work was the way to go. But then I had to glue all the pieces parts together! Couldn't squeeze the glue bottle, so I had to go lefty. Let's just say it took a LONG TIME to put this baby together! Oh, and then I had to try to photograph it with the hubs heavy camera ~ holy smokes! I sure hope the ladies at Color Hues like it!

I treated myself to this pretty set of peony dies from a Birch Press Design sale for Christmas. They were cut from paper with a soft pink pattern on it. I love the leaves and centers all dolled up in gold! I used matching gold paper on the PFS frame. The embossed panel is from my sweet friend Greta. A simple sentiment went onto an old Spellbinders label. My hubby thought it was a classy card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I'll be back this weekend with my card for Just Us Girls. We've switched things up in our weekly rotation by swapping out a couple of a challenges for couple of new ones!

Thinking of You

After a snowy weekend I needed something bright and happy on this blustery cold Monday! I also needed something simple since my hand is still an issue. My sweet friend Michele to the rescue! She sent me some foiled and stenciled butterflies last week. Just what I needed to put this together!

I had the 3D embossed daisy panel (SSS) in my stash. Just a couple of paper trimmer chops were needed. After adhering them, I added the pretty butterflies and a simple little sentiment. I cut a couple of the butterflies in half and tucked them under the gold panels. Lots of shimmer and shine happening here!

Off this flutters to The Paper Players and Tic, Tac Toe galleries! Thanks for the visit.

Just Us Girls ~ Color Week

Hi friends!

It's color week at Just Us Girls and I'm hosting!

I used Tombow markers and water to do a little smooshing on my Altenew flowers and leaves. After they dried, I smooshed them in some metallic rose gold ink. I added tiny bits of foam tape between the flower layers. My pretty blooms were added to a mini slimline card. I love this set of PFS dies! The sage panel was stamped with PTI images (Turning a New Leaf) before die cutting. Everything was added to an ivory panel then embellished with a few PPP rose gold sequins. I didn't add a sentiment. I think I'll add it to the inside. Something for my mom for Mother's Day!

I hope I've inspired you to play along with us this week!

Hello Friend

Would you look at that pretty spring plaid! When I dug into my plethora of patterned papers, I had one that was a very close match! This is my card for our Just Us Girls Wild Card Week. Take a look...

When I stared making this card, I was thinking to myself "Oh boy, I don't know about this one." But by the time I had finished it I was thinking "Oh, I like this one!" Later that evening, I prepared myself for the response I expected from my hubby. You see, the man does not like plaid. When I turned the card around, I saw this pleased look on his face and he actually liked it! I think he was as shocked as I was!

The mini slimline dies create a few pieces when cut. I used one to frame more of that cute plaid paper. This card is smaller ~ a teeny mini slimline! I colored and popped on a sweet POD bunny that my friend Marcia sent me. Yes, he liked this one too!

These are the supplies I used: Pretty Pink Posh Wild Rose stamps & dies, Pinkfresh Studio Mini Slimline dies & sentiment. Purple Onion Designs - Chloe

Thanks for popping in!

Let's go check out what the DT has to share!

You've been kind

Like so many of you, I'm trying to get over the post holiday card making slump. What better way than to branch out and enter a  new challenge. New as in it's my first time to play along. Where you ask... Pink Fresh Studios! I have a card for their January challenge.

I treated myself to their Mini-Slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die for Christmas ~ LOVE! After stamping a white panel with the Delicate Wreath, I die cut it then layered two more die cuts under the scalloped parts. The inner portion is recessed. Next I added two vellum Leafy Branch die cuts, popped on a sentiment tag, sprinkled on some pizazz and voila!

My card uses die cuts and wreaths.

That covers their June and November challenges from 2021!

Guesting at The Flower Challenge!

Hello friends! I'm guesting with the lovely ladies at The Flower Challenge this month... what a treat! They're kicking of the new year with a monochrome theme.

I don't think I've ever done a monochromatic card before, so this was an adventure! As my thoughts mulled over different color palettes I kept coming back to the idea of soft gray. Maybe it's winter brain!

PTI's soft stone paper and ink were my jumping off points. I inked up blooms from Altenew's Beautiful Day set. Double stamping gave me a medium gray while Altenew's Evening Gray ink provided the darkest shade. I treated myself to Pink Fresh Studio's Folk Edge Rectangles for Christmas. I love the way it framed my florals! This panel was popped up with a foam backing. To brighten up the grays, I added some champagne rhinestones.

Thank you ever so much for having me as your guest, Viv! Now I'm off to see what the incredibly talented design team has to share. I hope you'll join me and then play along!

Inspired By #187 ~ Hello Fall

Hello friends! The lovely season of autumn is just around the corner. We invite you join us at Inspired By as we give it a warm hello.

Don't you just love those fuzzy felt buds! I've been looking for something like that locally with no luck. Etsy maybe? I thought I had the perfect stamp for them only to discover that I don't! I must have given it away or perhaps it's just hiding from me. So, I changed gears and remembered the pretty eucalyptus stamps and dies Michele shared with me on her last visit. My frame was made using a MFT skinny tag die to cut the openings. I dry brushed some white paint on it as well as on my sentiment sign.

How will you be inpsired? Maybe you'll choose our Christmas photo or sketch? We don't mind which direction you go, we just love it when you play along!

Hello, Lovely

Hi there! I'm sharing a card tonight for Freshly Made Sketches and Crazy 4 Challenges.

I took some liberties with the sketch by replacing the vertical rectangle with this pretty eucalyptus wreath (thanks Michele!). Then I used a polka dot vellum overlay to let it show through. My background was created with a new Altenew cover plate.

Thanks for popping in, have a great weekend!

Inspired By ~ Thankful and Grateful

It's Thursday and that means a new challenge at Inspired By! We have another photo offering endless possibilities.

When I was a floral designer, one of my favorite things to create were wreaths. Naturally my eye went right to the one in this photo!

Ta-DA!

My wreath was created with a combination of elements from older SSS and PPP sets. Isn't it pretty! I added it to a panel die cut with a new cover plate then layered on the PFS sentiment. A couple of PPP pumpkins to finish it off and voila!

I hope you know how thankful and grateful I am for all of you. Why not play along with us this week so you can make a card to send along to someone you're thankful and grateful for!

Enjoy the Journey

Here goes nothing... my first post with the new blogger! Actually, it was easier than I thought it would be. Hope it shows up correctly on your end! I've worked on this card in bits and pieces this past week. Virtual kindergarten with Sweet P is going great and she loves it so much, but it keeps me busy!

I put this together for The Card Concept. I was inspired by the sunflowers and the oak table they're sitting on along with the fresh greens and pops of black from the photo. My Carta Bella papers (sentiment too) were layered together with a PFS wreath, PTI sunflowers and patterned leaves (PPP). Lots of layers and clean lines put this in their clean and layered category.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a blessed Sunday!

Grateful for You

Hello lovelies! I'm popping in for a quick minute with a card for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch and The Paper Players challenges.

I used an old Inkadinkado wood block dragonfly stamp. Aren't the fancy wings and antenna pretty! I die cut a PTI fillable frames 3 from vellum for the rectangle portion of the sketch. The PFS sentiment was heat embossed using Ranger Liquid Platinum powder. I went right down the middle on the Tic-Tac-Toe board... metallic, embossing and thank you.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great week!

Hello!

Hey there! It's time for another guest post with the Just Us Girls team! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I think this photo is terrific. I mean, after all, there are chocolate chip cookies in it!

I was inspired by the blonde wood the little display is sitting on and that sort of aqua blue wood paneling behind it. All of the pretty leaves in my patterned paper  and die cuts are a nod to the design in the cappuccino. I colored three wooden doodads with my Copics to represent chocolate chips!

I look forward to seeing what you create this week. I'm off to check out the cards from those talented ladies at Just Us Girls. You're welcome to tag along!

Will it be easy?

Hey there, I'm back this weekend with another guest design post at Just Us Girls! This week we're looking for a die cut window.

I decided to create a window opening for my sentiment with a Spellbinders label die. Two of the dies layered together created trimming for that opening! I thought all of those little frames or windows in the background paper worked well with this week's challenge. With all of that business I added just a couple of rolled roses, leaves and a button. All of my patterned paper is from MME.

The hardest part of this card? Rolling those paper roses, felt is so much easier!

I'm off to see what the DT ladies have created.
Care to join me?

I'm your biggest fan!

Hey there, it's time for a new Inspired by challenge!

I just love this pair of bunnies chillaxin' in their Adirondack chairs! Wonder what they're talking about? I guess you've figured out that I was inspired by the tan wooden chair from the photo, right? But how about the pumpkiny orange and hints of bright color ~ BAM!!

I think I'll send this to my son. He's been rockin' all of the COVID precautions, necessary changes and being crazy busy at his veterinary clinic and I want him to know how proud I am of him!

Edit: I had a couple of inquiries about this stamp. It's from Art Gone Wild.

The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio:

Hello!

Good morning! I'm back today with another cheerful card that I hope will lift your spirits. This one is for the Inspired By challenge where they're welcoming in spring!

I was fortune enough to win the {You Make a Difference} stamp set by Pink Fresh Studio's/Hero Arts awhile back. I had stamped several of the large panels, but never used one on a card. Today's the day! I colored it with Copics, die cut it and added it to the card along with a ME sentiment.  Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Thank You

Brrr, winter came by for a visit today. The snow was comin' down! So I snuggled in. I made a pumpkin pie (oh does the house smell good!!) and a card for this week's CAS(E) this sketch challenge.

When Michele and Tom came for their visit in November, she brought the Pink Fresh Studio's Eucalyptus Fantasy stamp set with her. This was the perfect opportunity to use one of those images I had stamped and die cut. I thought it worked well as the skinny rectangle in the sketch. My Altenew sentiment fills in as the chubby rectangle. Can rectangles be chubby?

Hope you have a great weekend.
I will... pumpkin pie... just sayin'!!
