Dress it up with Ribbon and Flowers!

Happy Wednesday!

Have been working on my stash of cards. I like to keep some nice ones to grab in a hurry. I can add the sentiment once I know what I need it for.
When I'm doing this, I also pull out stamps that I don't use on a regular basis.
Anytime I'm making cards, I love to include ribbon and flowers! Really dresses the card up and gives you a WOW factor!
Today's card is no exception!

I've used a Unity Stamp -colored with Stampin UP markers.
The paper pad is Teresa Collins Travel. Using scissors I roughed the edges of the background pages and then inked them up with vintage photo.
I glue all the components down until I get to the ribbon and flowers.  Then I use my hot glue gun.

Painting all Ages with DecoArt

Sunday's Paint Class

I had 3 kids in my Sunday School class that remembered their memory verse the first quarter of 2017.  As a reward, they got to paint for free!

We had two designs since we had boys and girls.  To my surprise, I have girl softball players!!  Had to do some quick freehand-but it worked out!

Everyone had a great time. The littlest one-encouraged the others to ad-lib on their crosses!  I love these young talented kids! (the adults did good too!!)

DecoArt Stencils-Wall Art

I wanted to create  a nice design on my bathroom wall. I used DecoArt Traditions acrylic paint.

Several stencils were used:

First I taped off 7x7 squares leaving an inch between them. I painted them White Wash White.

It took a couple of coats to cover up the lavender on the wall.

The I started layering using Botanical stencil and Antique Green. I used all 3 designs and just moved the stencil around on each square.  To get a different shade, I added some of the White Wash White to do the 2nd leaf. The third one I used yellow.

The flower is from the Garden collection and is Reusable -stick on stencil. I did some of the flowers in Black Plum and some in Yellow.

The bird is from the Bee's and Birds stencil. I did two coats of Black Plumb.

I ended up sealing it with a coat of Satin Varnish.

I hope you'll be inspired to paint on your walls!!

Thinking of You Dimensional Card

i

Had some free time today. Made some Thinking of You cards.

I started by dry embossing the yellow cardstock with a Stampin Up embossing folder.  Then I die cut a butterfly from the center.  Put some designer paper behind the cut out with some dimensionals to pop it up.

Most of the work was done!

I then embellished it with some Really Reasonable green ribbon. If you could see if up close-it has some shimmers in it!!

The sentiment (Stampin Up) is stamped with black archival ink. Punched with stampin up punches and added with dimensionals to add dimension to the card.

I added some designer paper to the die cut butterfly. Punched the butterflies from a Stampin Up die cut folder and added pearls to the centers.

I love the feel of this card.  Has a lot of interest in the cut out section show casing the designer paper.

DecoArt products rock! Mixed media Birthday card.

I love to combine paint and stencils to make Mixed Media cards. DecoArt products make it easy and fun to do!

I started the card base as a gelli print because I love the consistency you get on the cardstock from paint being applied to it. Then I used stencils and distress inks to add interest to the background.

The flowers and leaves were cut out with my cricut cartridge and then I rolled the paint onto them so the colors would match my background. I stenciled on those as well.  Left a few smaller flowers white and then started layering them getting spread out to the edges toward the bottom of the card.

The finishing touch was spreading glitter blue with my finger!  Love how it turned out.

Check out DecoArt products for your paintings, cards or mixed media.  Wide variety of Americana paints and a huge selection of stencils!!
