Butterly Scene /Art Journal

Happy Wednesday!!
Are you ready for some art journal inspiration??

I used Deco Art Media Fluid Acrylics and Rebecca Baer stencil Enchanted Vine-LG
I always gesso my pages before I start my page. The fluid acrylics are used sparingly.  One drop goes a long way!  I used my fingers to rub it around my page.I laid the stencil down and did additional rubbing of paint in the stencil after freehand sketching the butterfly in. I wanted to be sure the main stenciling was done around the butterfly.

I painted several coats of the fluid acrylics on the butterly.  The carbon black covers extremely well!
To finish it up-I painted in all the white parts.

I hope you'll try the stencils in your journals or canvas projects! They have lots of good details.
Thanks for stopping by!

Wings of Faith with DecoArt Products

Enjoyed some relaxation in my studio this afternoon.
This is a 5x7 flat canvas.

The background was made by dipping the canvas in a shaving cream mixture and allowed it to dry.
I dropped purple and blue and swirled it around the shaving cream.
I used Deco Art gesso to block in where I wanted the flowers and butterfly to go.  I added the colors on top once it was dry.  Once done, I used a stencil to add the word faith at the top.
Deco Art Media Fluid Acrylics I used:
Hansa Yellow, Yellow Oxide, Cadium Red Hue, Green Yellow Light, Carbon Black, Viridian.

MFP #17 You Crack Me Up!

I'm a guest designer this month @ MFP Speedy TV
on the challenge Sketch with a Twist. Hosted by Karen Letchworth

Sketch Challenge #17
Twist:  Use 3 stamps
I used MFP Stamp set Crack Me Up.
I stamped the cherry cobbler with the cracked wall stamp, the butterfly was stamped and then fussy cut and popped up with dimensionals, the sentiments are both in the stamp set.

I covered a piece of cardstock with a piece of material from Stampin Up.  The newsprint is from DCWV Haberdash. I cut all the background pieces with pinking sheers.
If you'll use Staz on with your sentiments, it shows up so crisp.
I used the flower punches from SU & took sharp nosed tweezers & twisted them.

If chosen, you can win one of their stamp sets.  So here's the link with all the rules and linky:
