Gelli plate Valentines

I started by making about 10 different backgrounds with my gelli plate and a handful of Americana Acrylic paints.

I also used the leftover paint on the roller on some die cut tags and hearts.

I have a stash of ribbon, lace, pearl trim, and flowers thanks to Really Reasonable Ribbon and Wild Orchid flowers!!

You can see my DecoArt stencil coming thru on this first card.

Wish you could see the sparkle on this adorable troll card!! The background was sealed with DecoArt glitter decoupage!
This last card is a pocket card.  That way the 11 year old girl that gets this can use the tag for a bookmark. .

DecoArt Americana Paint is best for Gelli Prints

I love making gelli prints.  I've used a variety of types of paints.  The best I've found is DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paints.  The consistency of the paint is perfect for spreading on the gelli plate.

On all the background gelli prints I used DecoArt Jacobean Floral stencil and the following Americana paint: Autumn Red, Antique Rose, Cadmium Yellow, and Moon Yellow. I changed which order I was putting them on the plate.

This first one I embellished with Unity Stamps I'm so Happy and

Ribbon by Really Reasonable Ribbon.

New Dawn Rooster by Unity Stamps and Wild Orchid Flowers.

This last card-you can really tell how using numerous gelli prints together is like having matching designer paper!!  Except you created it yourself!

The sentiment is from Unity Stamps, flowers from Wild Orchid and Flourishes.

I hope you're inspired to design your own cards. Everyone loves getting a handmade card!

It;s been a while since I've had time to participate in some challenges. I was blown away by my new Unity Stamps! Been looking forward to making some cards with them.

Let me introduce you to: Indie Girl by Unity Stamps.

I used Lost and Found Portobello Road designer paper.  It seemed to match the challenge going on at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

Dragonfly World canvas/Mixed Media

Mixed Media is my FAVORITE art to do!!
This is the 8x10 canvas is so easy to do!!

My granddaughter started my canvas!  She loves to paint.

She painted 3 different colors. I then splattered some black.

Here's where the stencil comes in!!  I used Rebecca Baer Dragonfly Fantasy-LG stencil. and Deco Art Traditions paint. When you lift the stencil-the beautiful colors are still left!!  I love it!
Didn't want to cover up any of the design-especially the dragonfly.  But I knew it needed a little something-something.

This is where my Wild Orchid flowers came in handy.  I also had some trim in my stash. Added a butterfly die cut and viola!  My masterpiece was finished.  I can't wait to find a perfect spot on my wall for this beauty!

Creating mixed media is so relaxing and you can get really creative.  Rebecca Baer stencils add so much potential!  I hope you're inspired to try your hand at mixed media today!!
If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments.  I will definitely answer them for you!

Altered Box using Unity Stamp sentiment

Friday is Friends With Flair with Unity Stamps.
I LOVE Unity Stamps.  They can be used in so many ways!
The quality is superb.

This altered box is for a special little girl turning 8 next week.  Her Mom wanted something special to give her.  I was so glad to be a part of making it more special.
Wild orchid Flowers are always my go to item.  The Black Pearl flourishes are beautiful.
The designer paper has fun bright colors for an 8 year old girl.  I cut her first inital out with my silhouette.  Boxes are fun to collect and alter.  I encourage you to try it!

 I'm linking up with:

May Challenge with Blue Fern Studio

Wedding Cards are so fun to make! You can doll them up.
Add flowers, bows, ribbons, hearts-and even Blue Fern Studio Chipboard!

I followed the May Sketch at Blue Fern Studio and created this gorgeous card!

In case you can't tell-The Big Day is a chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studio.
I covered it with gesso, painted it with a maroon acrylic paint and then coated it with DecoArt Metallic Wax in gold. Just love how it turned out.

I added flowers from Wild orchid flowers along with rosettes, heart pearl rope. The tiny banner was created with a Stampin up punch and stamp set.

I love using DecoArt products with other products. I used their gesso, acrylic paint and metallic wax product. You can purchase DecoArt HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!

Outdoor layout /Blue Fern Studio Challenge

Every month I love Blue Fern's sketch. I also love their products!

This month I had the opportunity to participate!

I've used their flower/leaf stems on the left side of the picture.  I coated them in gesso, then rubbed Deco Art Metallic Wax lightly on top.  Love the effect.

I'm doing the layout on a piece of Masonite. I plan of framing the picture for a friend's Christmas present. I printed the scripture and did the transfer method with gel medium above the picture.

Love the rugged look that distressing and ripping gets. I sprayed some blue spritz on the background paper after I had did a watered down coat of gesso over it. There are bits of burlap here and there. A few Wild Orchid Flowers.

I'm entering Blue Fern Studio's December sketch challenge.  HERE
