The Love Chapter done Mixed Media

Our Scripture this week @ Word Art Wednesday is in  I Corinthians.  You find the FREE word art on our Perfect Sentiments site.

When I think of "The Love Chapter" I can't help but think of Jesus.  My hearts desire is to love others as Jesus did.  The meaning of love is spelled out in this chapter. It sets high standards.  I have to work on it daily. But love is worth it-isn't it?

I start by printing the scripture on a thick piece of cardstock.  I then crumbed it up.  Straightened it back out.....
The I took light & distress ink to lightly go over.  The lines grab the most ink
its looking old & weathered
I sprayed cranberry mist & sponged-then sponged King's moon yellow.  I got my stamps out & stamped with momento brown ink around the edges of my canvas.
I came back with watered down yellow & highlighted the flowers.

I added some tags, layered some Wild Orchid Roses to frame out the canvas.

I hope this will encourage you to incorporate scripture into your art.  We have 2 prizes this week:

"Dream" Mixed Media Canvas

I found the pattern for the girl on a blog. I saved it to use & now can't find the blog so I can give her credit.

I love making cards & layouts.  I've combined my love of that on my 2nd love-canvas.
I started by painting my canvas with acrylic white.  Then spritzed pink, blue & green mist sprays.
I used a sponge to soften the edges & blend.
I traced around my pieces of the lady & cut them out. Distressed all the edges.  I cut some petals & made flowers. Found some clear buttons in my stash & added to the middle of them.  Everything was glued with mod podge.
I think it turned out beautifully!

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #7

Word Art Wednesday challenge is always focused on scripture.  With Christmas coming up this scripture is so perfect.  Glory to God is what we need to be focusing on in our preparation of this wonderful holiday. We're celebrating our Lord's birth!  God shared His most precious son with us. How he loves us!

It took me several days-drying time to create mine on canvas.  I used mod podge and layered ripped pieces of wall paper for the background.  Around the bottom right edge I added some ripped pages of a french dictionary.
Distressed my scripture cutout and added it next.  Cut out LOVE and the large heart with my cricut. Started stamping around the edges using Tim Holtz Vintage photo & berry distress ink.  Lastly I added 3 vintage buttons.

I love the finished project.  I have a frame ready for it. After Christmas-it's going up on my wall @ work for inspiration.
