ATC Fun with Unity Stamps

This weeks challenge at nity is to make ATC cards.  The size is 2 1/2  3 1/2.  I used some of the STACKS of gelli plate backgrounds I have stored up!! Actually, they are perfect for this type of thing. I like layers. So that was my beginning point. I picked out which stamps I wanted to use.  My newest FAVORITE Unity stamps is this huge sun! I LOVE it!

This first ATC I used colored pencils to highlight around the sun. Then used some distress ink to finish.  Added the cute sentiment and it was done!

This 2nd ATC is the other side of the sun stamp.  Totally different feel huh? The center of the sun I filled in with glitter.  Cutting the sentiment into individual words allows you to place them wherever you want.

This last one turned out great!!  I stamped it first, but the background was too bold, so I painted white gesso over top and allowed it to dry.  Then stamped again and colored with pencils. I put a coating off glossy accents on the stamp to bring more interest.

God Bless You Cancer tag

Happy Friday!!
I wanted to share this background technique I did.
I started with a 3 1/2 x 6 piece thin chipboard. I did a thin coat of gesso.
Allow to dry good.
Then using Tim Holtz distress stains I plopped it down in several areas so that it made
a SPLAT!
then I lightly spritzed some water on it and let it mix around a little
fold a paper towel in half and gently blot the darkest off. Allow to dry and then splat the bronzed pewter. I tapped the paper towel a little over it.  The pewter left a beautiful shiny finish which I adore!
Then using a stencil and some cocoa ink and stenciled Hope for a cure.  I LOVE this stencil!!
I am a little biased because a good friend of mine designed the stencil.

Then I embellished my tag  with a piece of ripped cardboard (I spritzed with Lindy's Stamp Gang -which we now carry in the store!!)  I colored my cute bear image with Prisma colored pencils.  The little cut designer paper is from Graphic 45. Then I added an eyelet for a ribbon.
 My finished tag below!
