Christmas Blessings to YOU!

Wow! it's been over a month since I've posted!!
I have been crazy busy.  I guess we all are.

This week I've gotten back to my roots-doing some card making. Relaxing and fun!

With Christmas almost here-I get to use all sorts of combinations-traditional and nontraditional.

My first card is using die cuts. Spellbinders Oval and Tim Holtz Snowman.

This next one uses my beautiful Poinsettia die and my cricut sentiment. (NO stamping!!)

My greens and joy sentiment are from my cricut. LOVE the wood embossing folder from Stampin Up. I did cut them in "planks" and attach them to my white background piece. Vintage photo was rubbed on the folder before I put my plain tan cardstock in.

To get the shimmer and shine I used DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Emerald and gold.

                                               I'm entering the following challenges:
                                               Simon Says: Die Crazy
Craft Stamper Magazine: stamping on the first card-snowman
                                               Word Art Wednesday: anything goes

I hope you and your family have a BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

3 Special Lady Cards for Simons Wednesday Challenge

Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge is to do a Lady/Girly project.
It just so happens I had an order for 3 girl cards.

This first one was for a lady turning 70.  I found my inspiration on Pinterest.
I normally don't do white. I feel like I can't stay clean enough. I usually have ink/paint on me. But the card on Pinterest (found at docrafts.com) really intrigued me. Used my Silhouette, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Stampin Up flower punch, Wild Orchid silver pearls and a Stampin Up stamp sentiment.
This second card was for a 16 yr old who likes camo and trucks. This was the hardest one!  I printed some camo print (by Shelia Reid at pixelscrap.com) onto red cardstock for the background.  The truck and sentiment is an old Stampin Up set.  I white embossed the sentiment.  Colored the truck with Stampin Up watercolor pencils. Punched the flowers (SU) and edged them with Ranger Picket Fence distress paint.
This 3rd card is for an eleven year old that loves Paris, American Girls and her favorite color is purple.  This was the easiest one!! I love using my Wild Orchid Flower stash.
My background was created digitally using pages from pixelscrapper.com and Photoshop.  The sentiment is stamped from Glitz Stamps.  The girl is Prima.

Is that enough inspiration for one day??  I hope you liked at least one of them!!
Have a blessed day!

Hello You! Challenges

We had a big snow last night.  I'm spending the day participating in challenges! Fun!

Simon Says: Work It Wednesday:  wants to see spring-me too!  These shades of pink scream spring!
Paper Crafters Corner Week 88: had an inspiration photo. I wanted to mimic the globe shape with the different papers stuck on it. I decoupaged one inch scraps onto a piece of white cardstock. Ran it thru my big shot using the swiss dot folder. Cut it in a circle and matted it on white.
Mojo Monday 386: did a tall & skinny card. I did 6x4.5-I wanted to fit my circle. But I followed the layout they had.
The "hello you" is my new diecut from Stampin up. I LOVE it!
Have a blessed day & stay warm!

Word Art Wednesday Psalms 147:4

I'm excited to share with the other ladies at Word Art Wednesday this month!
I'm filling in for one of their regular designers.  It's such a pleasure!

They have FREE scripture every week that you can use (it's not required-but why wouldn't you use something that's free?)

Here's my card I designed for this weeks scripture Psalms 147:4.

I started with plain white cardstock.   I printed the scripture and cut it so it would be card front size.
I embossed the gold stars.  The stamp is an old Stampin up one I had in my stash.  Anytime I need stars-I pull it out!
The tree is another Stampin Up stamp-I wanted it to look like it was in the background-used crumb cake ink.
Then I got to work with my distress inks and a sponge.

My card came in handy-there's a friend of mine going thru a very difficult illness.  She needed some encouragement.  How much more encouraging is it to know if God named and keeps up with the stars-how much more he loves and keeps up with us!

I hope you'll hop over and submit your creation!  They always have generous sponsors with great prizes!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week!

Be still and know that I am God!

Happy Saturday!

I'm busy making thank you cards for my Relay Team Captains.  There are 32!
I always can get some inspiration over at Word Art Wednesday.
This week Challenge #139 is Anything Goes!!

You will be amazed to find out the scripture on my card below is FREE!  Every week
Word Art Wednesday gives you a new scripture that you can choose to use.
The designer is Karen Murray.  You can find her blog HERE.

They have some awesome designers that share their creations every week.  They also give away prizes weekly!!  So check them out!

After printing the scripture 4x6 size, I simply stamped a flower in 3 different color distress inks randomly around the page.  Easy!!  With beautiful results.  Once you save the scripture to your computer-you can print whatever size you need.  See on the left side-those are 3x5.
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a terrific weekend!

Love is in the Air-Emboss It!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner.  I made this tag to go onto a gift bag.

I wanted to use a large stamp I had.  Choose a designer paper that is neutral.  I stamped all over a 12x12 page with versa mark and then heat embossed the image with red embossing powder.

Then I cut a size to fit a card, a couple of tag sizes.  You can choose what you want to use it for-even a layout-it's your choice.

The sentiment I simply typed up on my computer and printed and matted on black card stock.
I hand drew a heart out of some old cardboard I took out of a frame.  Using my gelatos, I scribbled the color on it, used my finger to smudge until it was well blended.  I did ink the edges with walnut distress stain.

Are you making something special for your loved ones??  If you need supplies-check out Robyn's store Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium.  All inventory is 20-25% less than retail!!

Paper Artsy Challenge with Liz Borer

I tried to follow the biggest part of her steps on my tags.  Since I don't have any of their paints, I embossed a lot of the stamping.  The hearts, outline of the boxes and sentiment were in black.  You can't see it in the pictures, but I also stamped the vine with hearts and then embossed it with clear.
Paper Artsy stamp set used EDY01 Eclectica by Darcy.  I loved it the minute I saw it!  I look forward to making even more projects with it.
I did both tags side by side-just proof that you end up with different results!!  I knew I needed a baby tag-so I added some yellow with the barn door red.

Prima flowers

Crafty Individuals stamp set CI-292
Unity Stamp artistic brick
Tim Holtz distress paint: mustard seed and barn door and picket fence

Sea Salt * Ink * Drying Time

I love altering boxes!
The sides were as fun to create as the box lid design!

I cut the flowers with SU die, spray with water & scrunch up tight to dry. After they are dry, distress the edges with Vintage photo ink and layer them with Scotch Quick Dry glue. I added distress stickles in Dusty Rose to the edges and flat back pearls from Wild Orchid Roses.

The sentiment is from Stampin Up.  The designer paper from Fact or Fiction.

The technique on the bottom of the box was SO COOL!  First, I gesso'd the box-dry.  Then I dabbed barn red distress paint-dried pretty quick, then stamped using purple and green pigment ink (colorbok) -I used my Paper Artsy Stamp & they curve easily so I could go around my edges.  I put a heavy coat of sea salt overtop and allowed to dry.  Take your hand and wipe away the dried salt.
Left a wonderful texture!  there is even a slight glitter left over from the salt.

Happy Birthday bag using fabric

I was totally inspired to create this gift bag from the August challenge at Berry71bleu
We were supposed to use textiles.

I started my background with gelatos.  I used the stipple brush and rubbed in gray and yellow.
I stamped script with brown archival ink.  Did some random stamping with a small stamp-you can't really see it, but it added some random yellow places.

I collaged some floral fabric on chipboard and then ran it thru my Big Shot. Cut out the flowers with Stamp In up die. To finish the centers I added some Wild Orchid Flower bling.
The ferns were cut with my cricut.  I sponged a different green around the edges to bring some depth.

I distressed the edges of the flowers and the tags.
I finished it off with a couple of tags I layered.  I stamped both with some sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you are inspired to incorporate some fabric and texture in your next project.
