PSC39 Red, White & Blue

Happy July 4th!  I hope your getting to spend the holiday with family & friends.  My Dad is retired from the Air Force-celebrating our freedom and the fact he's still with us is important to me.

This week @ The Perfect Sentiment,

In honor of Independence Day we are letting you celebrate your freedom by choosing the occasion for your sentiment. You are also allowed to choose the type of project you would like to create! Card, Tag, ATC, Altered Art, etc.

The twist: use our Nations colors: RED WHITE & BLUE

I'm constantly fighting to get my card colors to show up right.  The one below is the right color, but not a good angle.
I used an image from our sponsor:  Crafty Sentiments Designs

Crafty Sentiments

I colored her with pencils and deepened the shadows with markers. I love how she turned out. She's a beautiful image.

If you'd like a chance to win a digi image-all you need to do is enter your project to our linky @ Perfect Sentiments Challenge by 7/10/12.  We also vote on the top 3 designs.  Remember: to be in the running you have to following the challenge guidelines.

Our design team ROCKS!  You can find lots of inspiration from their blogs as well.  They are lited on my left sidebar and @ our Perfect Sentiments blog.

Can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a safe & fun filled holiday!

May God bless you & your family,
~Karen C

WAW: God loves America

God doesn't expect alot from us. But he does expect our love.  I think the creator of the universe, the one & only God of all the earth, the beginning and the end, deserves our respect & love.
The bible explains the multitude of benefits we receive just by putting him first.

Our Word Art this week says it all:

While celebrating our Nation's freedom and remembering the many people that have given their life for our country-let's also remember our God. Without Him we'd have nothing & be nothing. May he continue to watch over our country and leaders & bless them with his wisdom & grace.

I really enjoyed making this piece to be framed in my living room.  I want to also be reminded I'm to give my ALL to God.

Our wonderful & gracious sponsor this week is:

Isabella Sketchbook

Digital Stamp Store Be sure & check her out-she had LOTS & LOTS of beautiful digi designs.  I think you'll be as impressed as I was.

If you'd like a chance to win you'll need to pop over to our main blog: Word Art Wednesday
where you can link up your creation.  We'd love to see what talents God has blessed you with!  Our design team always has some amazing projects.  Check them out on my right side bar.

Until next week: I pray God richly blesses you & yours.  Be safe.

Crafty Creations wanted embellishments: I used brad, pearls, ribbon, flower, cross & stick pin. Not to mention the die cut butterflys.

Also wanted to play @ Stampin Sisters in Christ- use something new: brads, stick pin & cross

Moxie Fab: Stamp It!

I saw this challenge on Moxie Fab & I couldn't resist.

Make a birthday card-you primarily have to use stamps.

I rarely do that-so I had to have a go at it.  I was inspired by the notepad hanging on refrigerator!

It's hard to tell, but I started with Shimmer card stock from DCWV.  Then I used Tim Holtz distress inks to stamp a frame. used 3 different butterfly stamps all in SU lavendar.  The sentiment I stamped with black Stazon ink.

I really love it.  Will not wait so long before using all stamps again.

Sketch #20

I love sketches. The sketch this week @ Fridays Sketch was very interesting.

 Here's my take:

I used this fun image from SU.  In addition to the DP I also used a recipe for the background.  I distressed the edges. Added a couple of tags under the ribbon.

Teething-5 mths old

Been crafting all day-fun!  Wanted to get at least one layout done.  These are pics from the last visit with my granddaughter.  She's 5 months old & putting everything in her mouth!  In these pics she was trying to pull her seat to her mouth-no luck.  So she just stuck her fingers in!  Too cute!

I used Mind's Eye Bella Bella designer paper.  My flower in the middle I cut out of fabric with pinking sheers, sewed a button in the center.  I got it wet & roughed it up with a towel to dry it.  Makes such a cute flower.

Thanks for checking my layout out.

If you'd like to win some blog candy check out the sketch I followed @ Sketch Inspiration
