Wyrdos, It’s time again to give you all the monthly dose of all things Wyrd! After getting back from Adepticon and meeting a bunch of you fine folks, we’ve been super busy ramping up a few projects on our end for the upcoming con season. If you didn’t have the chance to catch us at Adepticon, we hope to see you at another con sometime in the near future. This month’s newsletter covers War of the Spirits (the Darkness Comes Rattling expansion), April’s Chronicles, the Through the Breach campaign, the Creature Feature painting contest, and a game designer position that just opened up! We’re thrilled to announce and release the expansion to Darkness Comes Rattling, called War of the Spirits! Not only are we immediately releasing the game, but you can download the cards, rulebook, and characters for free on our website. You can also purchase a print-on-demand version of the cards on DriveThruRPG very soon! Darkness Comes Rattling: War of the Spirits adds a new quest system that all players participate in, new Legendary items, a new item type called Blessings that help all players, and a new endgame system where all the players directly challenge Darkness itself! The latest edition of Wyrd Chronicles is available now. Wyrd Chronicles is a free e-zine that can be downloaded at DriveThruRPG. Here’s what you can find in the latest issue: Starting Malifaux on a Budget – Resurrectionists: Looking to build an inexpensive Resurrectionist crew but don’t know where to start? We’ve got you covered. Darkness Comes Rattling - War of the Spirits: Showing off the print-on-demand expansion to the challenging cooperative game, Darkness Comes Rattling! Singing Song: Three mischievous Tanuki are tasked with obtaining a sample of the renowned River Monk drink of choice, Song. Building a Gaming Board - Part Two: Add the final touches to the winter-themed game board we began in February’s issue. Master Class: Looking to introduce a Master into your Through the Breach campaign? Here are a few ways to do so without blowing everything up. Honey Smugglin’: The simple life of a bayou smuggler becomes more a little more complicated during her latest journey into the swamp. Rattling Winds: A Malifaux story encounter that takes place in another dark world. The Through the Breach global campaign, the Obsidian Gate, moves on to Act II. If you haven’t gotten your hands on the free to play campaign, don’t worry! Sign-ups for the event are still open until April 29th, so you’ve got some time to join in on the fun. The Obsidian Gate consists of 4 gameplay sessions and uses pregenerated characters. New sessions are released every 3 weeks, but Fatemasters have more time to get in their game reports. Games reported can shape the future of Malifaux, particularly in helping decide which character gets turned into an Adjunct model for The Other Side! We’re excited to hear how things unfold in your game sessions! The Creature Feature painting contest is currently ongoing. Make sure to get in your definitely-not-humanoid entries in soon. Wyrd has a variety of media available for free to everyone. Every Wednesday, a new wallpaper is available on our website for Wallpaper Wednesday. There is a large collection of Malifaux options available, as well as a variety of options for some of our other games. We have a free ezine available, Wyrd Chronicles. The Chronicles have stories, hobby articles, RPG adventures, and more! Be sure to check out this magazine, currently available on DriveThruRPG. Most Mondays, we release a look at something upcoming in our Monday Preview. These are a great opportunity to see what Wyrd is working on and what's coming down the pipeline. We have a lot of things to show off, so check back every Monday! On Fridays, we try to show off previews for the upcoming The Other Sideminiatures game. Every other Thursday, we release a free podcast called the Tales of Malifauxas part of our Breachside Broadcast. This podcast goes through the Malifaux fiction one story at a time, starting all the way back to the first book in the first edition. It's a great way to catch up on our old stories or go through them again. As we're ramping up for the upcoming con season, we're looking to our dedicated community to give us a hand. Wyrd Games Preview - Board Games

A very late Monday Preview from Wyrd Games...

Wyrd is very excited to announce an upcoming two board games!

Bayou Bash is an upcoming racing board game for up to five players. It features Gremlins, out of control animals, and underhanded combat. Players will have to use a combination of fighting and speed to win.

Unlike most racing games, the winner isn't the racer who crossed the finish line first. Instead, it's the racer who attracted the most Fans (which are gained through a combination of fighting and racing). The Fans line the track and are able to be attacked and removed from the game, making scoring an interactive part of the game!

War of the Spirits is an upcoming expansion for Darkness Comes Rattling. It introduces two new Warriors (and their Spirit Animals) and many new challenges for those attempting to defeat Darkness.

This expansion also adds in the spirit realm, allowing the players, as Spirits, to explore another world. The spirit realms offer all new boons to players, aiding them in their battle to save the world.

While the release dates for these games are still unannounced, you can join in playtesting for them by heading over to our forum.

Wyrd Games's October releases and events...

Wyrdos, It's good to see you again for this, our October newsletter. This newsletter is coming a little early in honor of the Upcoming page on our website! We've been double, double toil and troubling to get more to the community, and the Upcoming page is just one way we can help you plan your miniature harvest. This month we have a mighty bounty: the Rotten Harvest painting competition, great new releases, some restocks, and the continuous battle to control Nythera!

ROTTEN HARVEST

What do pumpkins, witches, zombies, and blood-curdling screams have in common? They are all things that usher in the Halloween harvest season, which means it is time for another Rotten Harvest painting competition! The painting competition will run for one month and focus on numerous spooky categories for the painting aficionado. Full contest rules and details can be found here. OCTOBER RELEASES October brings a number of new releases for Wyrd, including our first Story Encounter & Adventure box, which contains models for Malifaux and a one-shot Through the Breach adventure! Wyrd Games September Newsletter

Many interesting things coming soon from the Wyrd Games people...

Wyrdos, September has arrived, and it's a month filled with excitement. We've got a lot of new releases we're excited about and our worldwide event has begun! But before we get to all that, I wanted to remind everyone that from September 3rd through September 6th is the NOVA Open in Arlington, Virginia. Three of Wyrd's game designers will be there to talk to the community, and it will be the first Malifaux national championships in the States. If you have a chance, come on by and join the fun. Even if you can't make it, you can participate in the charity raffle! It's a great chance to win some Malifaux goodies while supporting charity. Head on over to their site and check out the great Crews you can win.

NYTHERA The Nythera Worldwide Event is kicking off in September. This event has two parts: Malifaux and Through the Breach. In Malifaux, players choose a Faction to fight it out with the other forces Breachside in an attempt to control the Nythera ruins. The Malifaux portion has launched already and will run for three months, and will include prizes for the winning Factions. In Through the Breach, Fatemasters run pre-generated characters through three different adventure modules that will help to determine the future of Malifaux City. The Through the Breach portion doesn't begin until the middle of the month, and will also run for three months. You can find out more about these events here, and, even if they've already started, you can always sign up!

If you fill out this form with a photo of your receipt before the 5th of October; we will send you a Witchling Stalker in colored plastic. Limit 1 reward per person. Only local game stores count.
