Sunday Round-up

After receiving my donation of several thousand guild scrip the Malifaux authorities were far more sympathetic to my claims that the pile of bodies in my basement were put there in a deliberate attempt to frame me and that I had no idea how the tricky buggers responsible had somehow managed to get my fingerprints onto the pile of bloody surgical tools nearby and smear their blood on all my clothes...
...leaving me free to continue my recruitment tour of Malifaux city. There I came across Ototo and the Rogue Necromancy in their alternate outfits, the Obsidian Statue, Paul Crockett and a Riotbreaker.

With two whole weeks of recruitment achieved lets hope I can keep up the momentum for another week...

Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...

Unboxing Malifaux - Paul Crockett

"A walk on the wild side..."
The Paul Crockett box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely Paul Crockett. It also contains a stat card for it though there are no upgrade cards.

Paul Crockett
Paul Crockett is an outdoorsman of the highest calibre. he's a skilled tracker and hunter, but he has been known to slip into an almost feral state during some of his hunts. It was during one of these hunts that he slipped up and accidentally murdered a group of fellow outdoorsmen.

Rather than own up to what he did, Paul fled through the Breach and into Malifaux, where he quickly began to make a name for himself as a skilled guide. It was during one of these expeditions that Paul encountered Marcus and single-handedly took down the Arcanist's pet sabertooth Cerberus. Rather than become upset at the creature's death, Marcus applauded Paul's triumph and asked to learn more of the man. The two of them quickly hit it off, each of them respecting each other's ferocity and knowledge of the outdoors.

Paul Crockett - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of it.

Paul Crockett - Stat Cards
Stat cards in the official format can now be downloaded from Wargame Vault for a nominal fee from HERE.

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Paul Crockett - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.
Additionally...my own assembly notes are written as I go along so I'd suggest reading them all the way through before starting the assembly process.

Paul Crockett - Assembled
There's actually no need to glue the legs together first as indicated in the instructions as they will slot into the waist individually but either way works. There's a couple of small parts to add to the waist but these have decent enough attachment points. You also need to add the shotgun to the back before the cloak as it wraps around it.

I purchase my miniatures from Leodis Games (Link Below) and can highly recommend them.

Sunday Round-up

After having to lay low for a month due to an unfortunate misunderstanding involving the authorities in Malifaux and several dead ladies of the night that some-one had maliciously left in my basement next to my blood-stained surgical tools collection I have once again began to recruit allies for my plan to take over the world...

...So I paid visits to Benny Wolcomb, Hinamatsu, Neil Henry and the Charm Warders...

I also had to make a trip to Los Angeles which I was surprised to find is riddled with vampires...
...if you'd like to learn more about that particular adventure then Part One of it can be found HERE.

Over the next week I'll be doing a bit more recruiting in Malifaux...
...hopefully I'll see you next week.

Unboxing Malifaux - Neil Henry

"Man over Machine..."
Neil Henry box contains enough parts for one miniature...namely Neil Henry. It also contains a stat card for him though there are no upgrade cards.

Neil Henry
Neil Henry first came to the foundry's attention after his family was kidnapped by Condor Rails. The railroad company had intended to use his family as leverage to force Neil to work slower, but instead of capitulating to their demands, he single-handedly destroyed the two constructs guarding his family, killed the man responsible, and freed his wife and son. Despite suffering a grievous wound, Neil then returned to the railroad and worked for a day and a half straight, ensuring that the line was completed by the deadline.

Impressed with his work ethic, Mei Feng offered Neil a full-time job at the Foundry. Neil isn't a complicated man, but that works to his advantage; Mei knows that he doesn't have any desire to play political games and that means he can be trusted with her secrets.

Neil Henry - Assembled
This model mostly consists of the main body to which you attach the legs and arms and a small head piece. The piece on the left thigh helps align the left leg piece but it's perfectly viable to attach it afterwards as long as you align the leg correctly. The hammer shaft is fairly thin so be careful when removing that particular part from the sprue.
