It all started when Shah Alam had experienced massive floods last year (i'm sure all of you remember).... I'd parked my car inside my college and i was in laboratory to perform some experiments.... it's raining pretty heavy but for all the staff and student, we all like "sudah tegal" because we know a little rain may lead to small floods in the college...
But it all changed that day... 45 minutes rain leads to a massive floods in the college and TTDI, Shah Alam. I have a bad feeling towards it.. but remain calm because the experiment is "a-must" thing to completed.
After class, which the rain still falling down heavily, me and my friends decided to lepak at account department... When the rain had decreased, i decided to run towards my car....
Before i'd managed to run... my car already sinked in a "cat-smelly" floods. I nearly pengsan when i see it. Because the flood level had reach more higher than my knees when i standing beside my car. ( i don't have camera phone that time.. so no pictures)
Lucky of me, the seats didn't get wet but the "floor" had been covered with water pretty badly... Me and my friend takes the mat and used it as "gayung" to flush out the remains water on the car floor.
But the stories not ended there.... the leaking start to be noticable in 11th May 2006 (my birthday). I'd left the car in front of my friend house (rainy day too..;p) and I follow her to watch Vince's show at Green Cow Studio, Damansara with her car.. (yes, i'd celebrated my birthday that day with Vince .. remember????)
When i get back to her house... I realized the driver side floor fulled with water !!!!!!!! I have no idea how the water comes .. i been "traumatically" for a year ... Starting after that miserable day, i always parked my car inside the parking buildings or i will not driving in rainy day... (but i can't run from parked my car at open surface parking lot, because my college don't have covered parking lot.)
I decided that my phobia towards it must be stop... I'm tired cleaning the car floor... honestly i have no time to take my car to workshop ... i only take it to service center... itupun I pening to choose perfect day/time to send the car to service centre... I pernah tanya satu workshop (chinese mechanics) how much they charge to check the leaking... they say RM300 and takes 3 days.... because nak buka dashboard la... bla..bla.. it's fucking expensive i tell you... I'd sense they "kencing" I because I'm a female... No way Jose !!!
My sister decide to get helped from her hubby .. and he's agree.... He knows some mechanic friends...
Today morning (rainy day too).... me, My sis and her hubby brought my car to his friend's workshop... It's Indian mechanic shop near my sisters house....
What can i say is... Those Indians mechanics were pretty fast when dealing with my car problems... When i told them exacty what is the problems.. they start checking with no further questions... The mechanics start pour some water over suspected area and... walla!!! they found the route of leaking... It only takes 2 hours to repaired.. (compared to three days... ewwww)
But all of us, include the mechanics were pretty shocked because the route of leaking is not come from the front bonet (inside the engine) or the mirror.... but it's from the right fender's signal/lamp wire port !!!! (God Almighty.... i didn't die electrocuted or what so ever... ~~*sigh)
Using my camera phone here's some shoot that i'd manage to take during the day
oh look... RUSTY... fucking shit!!! the previous mechanics (do i need to tell the machanics race???) that had repaired my car due to accident didn't spray rusty protection
Ane the mechanic show us the leaking route
Ane the mechanic show us the leaking route
Ane figured out how the water entered the port. The red shirt is my bro in law.
Ane and his friends sprayed a paint coat to cover the RUSTY's fender.
Ane decide to use melted foil + rubber tape to covered the port.
My sis makes a joke by saying Ane "control macho" while he repaired the fender when i take his picture... LOLs
Using his lighter, Ane melt the rubber foil for maximum protection
Another angle of foil heated procedure
So... i feel relief... no more car leaking.... they only charge around Rm60.... 5x cheaper. Cool
Moral of the story: Bring your boyfriend/hubby/daddy/brother when dealing with mechanics.... i'm not pointed towards "racism" but some mechanics (especially chinese) DO charge unreasonable price.... especially to a WOMEN.. Because from the mechanics perceptions, women knows NOTHING about car... Be a smart customer okay
