Yeah I know it's only Thursday, but hey, just think of today as Pre-Friday, or the warm-up to Friday.
Watched Arrow last night, and was really pleased with how well the show went off. Other than a minor quibble about leaving the Green out of the title(stupid exces) I thoroughly enjoyed the debut episode, and the amount of backstory they managed to fit in, while teasing the audience with what's to come throughout the season.
There's so much inside stuff and easter eggs for long-time GA fans, like naming the bodyguard Mr.Diggle, after writer Andy Diggle, who just happened to write a pre-Nu52 Green Arrow:Year One mini-series. Or his sister having the nickname "Speedy", or his best friend having the name Tommy Merlyn, you know, like one of enemies, Merlyn the archer.
The whole thing seems very realistic and probable, especially his costume and weapons, looking like the could very well exist in the real world, which to me, helps sell the show.
Anybody else who watched, catch Deathstroke's mask in the beginning? Can you say foreshadowing?
So yeah, I know what show I'll be watching on Wednesday nights @ 8pm.
And now, on with the show.......
Kids, am I right?
Extra:
Before I go, I thought I'd leave you with a song that's been stuck in my damn head all week, ever since I heard it.
I discovered this awesome tune while looking for more songs from this group, and also happened to discover they covered two Beatles' songs: "Helter Skelter" and "Dear Prudence". I don't care too much for their version of Helter Skelter, but I do love their cover of Dear Prudence.
Here's Siouxsie and the Banshee's with probably one of Shlomo's favorite songs, (you know, 'cause he's Jewish. Love ya' man, mean it:) "Israel."
