Finger-Bang 2: Electric Bat-Boogaloo

Remember this famous panel from the late 80's?

Are you sure you're remembering right?

Not as bad as going blind, but definitely better than hairy palms.

-Or-

Apparently not. What can I say, chicks do love Batman.
Happy Hump Day......

Remember when they turned Batman in a walking Pog dispenser?

I do.

Pepperidge Farms remembers too.

   Just saying......

Updates and General Observations.....

Well after a good while of Shlomo telling me how good it was, I finally watched the DC animated movie Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay.

It was really, really good, and well-worth the movie rental.

Lots of twists and turns that actually made sense, some cool cameos, and even a little hint of some sweet, sweet HLA (Hot Lesbian Action) via some quick nipple slips.

Thanks for the (all-too brief) show ladies.

What I didn't see coming was the final death(s) at the end, which I won't spoil for anyone who hasn't watched it yet.

Very cool character bits though, with a very satisfying ending that made sense and continued, in a sense, from the last 'Squad animated movie and another one in Flashpoint.

Batman: Gotham By Gaslight was just as solid of a movie, being an adaptation of a popular Elseworld's story set in the late 1800's during the heart of the nightmarish reign of terror by the infamous Jack the Ripper by the creative team of Brian Augustyn and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, with inks by P. Craig Russell.

Did NOT know who "Jack" was going to turn out to be, thinking it'd be Harvey Dent, but it wasn't, it was *rhymes with Him Blordon*

Don't know why I don't see that one coming, but then I never really read all of the source material or ending, so I was definitely shocked. Especially since they went with a different character being revealed as Jack, and not who they went with in the movie.

Hell of a fighter. Goddamn, what a final fight scene!

I guess "Uncle Jake" Jacob Pecker didn't rate being in the movie.

I wonder if they'll ever adapt the sequel to Gaslight, Master of the World? Hmmm.

Again, all this does is prove my point that when it comes to movies, DC/WB should stick to making animated movies, because that's where they continue to deliver each and every time.

Not so much on the live-action end.

Really, until they make the same effort into crafting their big screen stuff with how well they make their animated films, they'll always be stuck playing catch-up to how well Marvel's doing in that area.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Well folks, that app that allows you to sell your shit, Let Go, has finally been very good to yours truly.

I sold pretty much all of singular Superman comics, some old digests, and 100$' worth of figures I needed to get rid of.

Still have more things to sell, like some old 70's black and white horror magazines like Dracula and Morbius, as well as 70's reprints of classic Will Eisner The Spirit stories.

We'll see how long they last.

The issue for me, seems to be seems things tend to sell better than others, and only true collectors understand what certain things are worth.

Also, if you're going to sell something, make sure you're prepared to do a little travelling depending on where you and the potential seller live. Sometimes it's just not worth making a 45-60 minute trip just for the sake of only making your gas money back.

So far, so good, but now it looks like I'm gonna' have to dig deep to make some extra cash this summer.

Did buy a new Marvel Legends figure though last week:

The new Deadpool/X-Force wave Cable figure.

He's mostly new stuff, like the pouches, guns, arms and head. But the bottom half is all from the Nuke figure.

He's damn good, solid figure, who reminds me of those early X-Force comics I used to buy off the spinner rack back in the day.

                                                              Good times. Good times.....

Tinder, Bat-Villain Style Part 2

Hey, remember those fake, but funny Tinder profiles of the Joker, Bane, Clayface, Two-Face, and the Riddler?

Well if you don't,, here's the link to 'em:
http://dbsuniverse.blogspot.com/2018/01/tinder-bat-villain-style.html

So today I figured, eh, what the hell, I make another round of faux Tinder profiles with more Bat-Villains.

Enjoy......

First up is that fiery firebug himself, Firefly:

Nice.

Next up is Mr.Freeze '66 (Otto Preminger):

I guess he's finally over his beloved Nora now.....

Next is the professor of phobias, the Scarecrow

He's got a point about fear being an aphrodisiac. it's been scientifically proven.

Next up is waddles himself, the Penguin:

What a dirty bird that one.

And finally......Superman?

Sweet Christ Clark! Don't you have a wife and kid?????

I just happened to find that image while doing an image search for the Super-Friends version of Scarecrow, and found that. I sure as shit don't remember that episode of the Super-Friends, but it looks like it Clark got LIT in that one.

Bird-Watching

What's up people?

Hey, who's interested in an all-new skit?
Of course you. Enjoy...

If you didn't already know, last Friday was my 36th birthday, and to celebrate I took my happy ass to Dave and Buster's the next town away. I had a lot of fun drinking and playing arcade games all night with my girlfriend, my sister and her boyfriend as the place stays open from 11am to 2am. Gotta' love those hours.

Before all that I hit up a good bit of the comic stores they had around town, catching up on all the issues of Jeff Lemire's Moon Knight series (the only current Marvel series I still bother to follow) along with the latest issue of Doom Patrol with killer Mike Allred art. I did also happen to buy two of one-shot specials for the whole Scott Synder Metal event, snatching up The Forge and The Casting. At $5 a piece they're expensive, but decent for what you get in terms of art and story.
It's setting up the return of Hawkman and as well as some other characters not seen much since the Phew 52 started, like Plastic Man (who's joining a new Batman-assembled team, The Terrifics, led by Mr. Terrific)

It looks good, and it supposed to be "fun", but we'll see.

I also picked up a the Bullet Points TPB by J. Michael Straczynski and Neil Edwards, and the TPB of Grant Morrison and J.G. Jones' Marvel Boy mini-series, and all for half off the cover price.

Finally, I ordered the new Marvel Legend Netflix wave Bullseye and Death's Head II from the recent ML GoTG wave.

Damn they're sweet!!!!

RIP Adam West

Well....we lost another folks. Another hero passed on to his great reward.

We lost Adam West last week, after a short battle with Leukemia. He was 88 years old.

While I wasn't alive during the heyday of Bat-Mania during the late 60's, I defintiely did appreciate Adam West's contribution to pop culture and comics by becoming Batman for the Batman TV show back in 1966. As a kid leaving West Germany, I used to watch re-runs of the iconic 60's show and instantly fell in love. Sure it was way different than the movies and comics at the time, but no less important or entertaining.

In addition to playing Batman, Adam West has played numerous roles over his long career, especially the Grey Ghost in Batman:TAS in the 90's, and as Mayor West for Family Guy.

A class act in everything he did, he will always be Batman to me.
Thank you, and good night Bright Knight.....

"Love and Bat-Marriage, Love and Bat-Marriage..."

So apparently this happened......

I'm not even mad about it actually.

I look at it like this, let's see where this is headed. She hasn't said yes yet, even though I would think after all these years the answer would be a forgone conclusion.

If nothing else, if you hate it already and think Bruce should stay single and unmarried, then this could all easily be temporary, as is usually the case with these things. It won't last long.

Unless DC wants it to?

Bear in mind this is right after Batman and Bane went to war again against each other, and Batman had just seen his father again( well the Flashpoint version of his father) before he disappeared...yet again, beg him to quit being Batman and just live for himself instead trying to get revenge for parents.

So that's where his head was I guess.

Oh, and is Bruce just going to conveniently forget that Selena used to be, until recently before the newest reboot, a crime boss in the NU52? And didn't she kill people or was at the very least responsible for any deaths that occurred by members of her crew?

I guess not.

Still, I have to say the whole thing was pretty romantic, especially the part where Bruce proposes to Selena with the very same diamond she had stolen years earlier. Apparently he never returned it to the owners, and instead bought it because he knew someday he would need it. Now THAT'S the sort of planning ahead Batman's known for.

Good for him.
You can see this all go down in the recent issue of Batman, Batman#24, which should be out this week,

"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here."

Well..... I kinda always knew this day would come, and it sure has. It's been a hell of a ride, but it's time to for it end. Ti...
