Catching Up
I'm still catching up from my new years sew-athon
I'm bringing it to you in iPhone snaps, as these were sewn and popped straight in the post to their new owners!
Gosh, blogging was so much more time consuming pre-iPhone. My poor old camera is a bit lonely these days.
I'm also loving having having easy access to a range of WIP photos. I love seeing other peoples works along the way, and I find it really interesting to look back at the process.
There's still more to come!

Tutorial - How to Make a Pouch for your Electronic Gadget
I'm super excited that this tutorial is on Whip Up today - a huge thankyou to Kathreen for inviting me to contribute to the Guest Blogger Series!
My sister recently bought me an eReader so I desperately need to Whip Up an eReader Pouch, using one of the original testing samples (in a larger scale) of my Go Granny fabric.
The tutorial explains how to measure your very own eGadget to make a pouch that fits perfectly.
If you'd like to make your very own, using my Go Granny fabric (tip: all those lines make it really easy to sew in a straight line), then pop over here to the shop.
Oh, and if you do make something lovely using Go Granny, then please upload your photos to Flickr and join the Go Granny group!

Do you Boogaloo?
I've been having so much fun playing around with all the fabric designs for my padded pouches. The possibilities really are endless it seems.
Take this example for instance.... Vic wanted Electric Boogaloo printed on her pouch - and her wish was granted!
If you would like your very own specially personalised version, just let me know via email or check out the custom text listing here.
* Please note that the fabric cost is $5 extra and takes at least three weeks to arrive in my letterbox, therefore pouch may take up to four weeks from order to delivery.

The Musical Collection and Little Shop Of...
Gosh it's been such an exciting week around here!
I've been so caught up that I'd forgotten to announce that I also have a brand new stockist.
You can now find CurlyPops goodies at Little Shop Of... at 8 Woorayl St, Carnegie - or you can also purchase from their online shop.
I also have this new range of pouches from The Musical Collection....
I haven't had a chance to put them in the shop yet (they're $25 each), and I'm about to dash out the door, so if you would like me to put one aside for you, just email me - mscurlypops@gmail.com
Have a happy Friday!

My Creative Space
In my creative space today - a little production line of iPhone/Gadget Pouches.... in all the colours of the rainbow, including some yet to be released designs.
I'm gearing up for my first market of the year, which is happening this Sunday 20th February from 11 AM til 2 PM.
It's part of the 150th Anniversary of the Newmarket Saleyards, and it's actually on my side of town.
I don't have much time left, so it's heads down..... you know what up!

For the Late-Adopter
I'm one of those peeps that you might label a late-adopter when it comes to technology.
I have no desire to have the latest or the greatest of anything in particular. I bought my very first laptop only last year, I was late in joining Facebook, and even later in joining Twitter.
So it comes as no suprise, that I still use an old school mobile phone. It has all the bells and whistles that I need on a daily basis....... but it seems that everyone else on the planet has an iPhone!
My poor little phone was the perfect muse and inspiration for my latest iPhone/Gadget Pouch design.
These three colours are now available in The CurlyPops Shop.

Mini Me
Now that some of the christmas pressies have been sent and received, I can finally start blogging them.
These two came from requests for mini sized iPod pouches. I have a little old iPod myself, so I probably should whip up another for me (that'll never get done ha)!
The back side has a little pocket for earphones. I'm admiring my super straight stitching on that binding.... that doesn't happen very often!
I know that one recipient is very happy, so I hope the other one gets a lovely suprise on christmas day.

Happy Birthday Mr X
It was my eldest nephews birthday yesterday - 12 years have flown by so quickly, and he's so grown up and so tall these days!
We had a very yummy barbecue to celebrate lastnight. His mum made this yummy chocolate cake with cake pops on top. It was quite perfect because instead of the usual mad scramble to cut the cake, all the kiddies were given a cake pop and off they went... leaving an entire cake for the adults to eat. Much more civlised.
Mr X was lucky enough to receive an iPod Touch for his birthday, which made it very easy indeed for me to come up with a handmade pressie for him.
Oh, and as an added bonus, the headphone pocket on the back is perfect to pop in a little i-Tunes voucher. Fancy that!

New Colours
I finally managed to whip up some iPhone / Gadget Pouches in my new colours on the weekend.
They'll be coming along to the Daylesford Makers Market this weekend, but if you can't make it on Saturday, then pop on over to the CurlyPops Shop instead.
I'm off to enjoy this beautiful Melbourne sunshine!

My Creative Space
A little stack of bits and bobs waiting to be sewn up into gadget pouches.
I think this bit is the most fun - cutting, fusing, stacking, counting - making sure that I have the right quantities of each cut piece all ready to stack up next to the sewing machine.
But, for today, the sewing has to wait.... I'm off to an appointment, and then popping over to to a girlfriends house to meet her brand new bubba (musn't forget to take his handmande bibs and blankie pressie with me).
I'll catch up on all the creative spaces (and the sewing) when I get back.

Owls and Dragsters...
Now here's some of my new fabrics that I've been keeping secret (although there was a little sneaky peek last week).
I've been making lots of new iPhone/Gadget Pouches for my upcoming markets.
I've popped a few of these in The CurlyPops Shop too!

Blogtoberfest Giveaway Winner Week 1 + Animation Friday
The first winner today is ME because my internet is back to normal - phew!
I'm combining Animation Friday with the announcement of the lucky giveaway winner. So for those that missed the process over the last couple of months, my animation shows the evolution of the Tulip Gadget Pouch.
For some reason today, some peeps can't actually see the giveaway list. I'm hoping that the problem is with blogger or Mr Linky, and all will be fixed by tomorrow.
Without further ado, I'm already over an hour late with the draw - there were 92 entries overall.
...... and the winner is number 72 - Kylie from A Little Red Dress
Thanks so much to everyone who entered - Kylie, can you please choose your favourite pouch (Tulip or Jungle) and email me your mailing address and I'll pop your prize in the mail.
I'll be adding a brand new giveaway on Monday, so stay tuned!

I just couldn't help myself
I was trying to save these until next week, but I just can't resist blogging them!
I had my original illustrations printed onto fabric....
.....and now I've turned the printed fabric into Flex Frame iPhone / Gadget Pouches.
These little pouches have a nice soft layer of wadding for protection and also include a nifty rear pocket to stash your earphones (or whatever else you may like to stash)!
Both designs are available in the CurlyPops Shop right now.

Another Gadgetty Prototype
This is something that I've been working on in the background for a little while now.
It's a new larger sized gadget pouch using the 115mm flex frame for the opening..
(I've just noticed that my hands look really old.... hmmm must remember to moisturise).
It even has a nifty little extra pocket at the front (as suggested by Tinniegirl). I don't call her the ideas woman for nothing you know!
I'll have lots of these ready to go for upcoming markets and they'll also be available very soon in The CurlyPops Shop.

My Creative Space
It's all about action stations and market preparations today.
This pile of pouches needs flex frames to be added.
This pile still needs sewing.
At least the brooches are all packed and ready to go......
Oh, and I still need to finish printing and packing my new cards..... and then I'm off to the Northern Craft Bonanza tonight. It's been quite a while between drinks, so I'm really looking forward to it!

It's customary my dear
I must admit that I do love a custom order!
It makes me stop procrastinating and start doing.
Two little padded flex-frame pouches.... one for a mobile phone, and one for a pocket sized camera. Both with little d-ring tabs and matching detachable wrist straps. I hope their new owners are very happy.

A Medicare Statement is the new black
I had to crop the end off the photo to hide my medicare number
I thought I'd stick with the medical theme and make myself a little pouch for my handbag. I'm constantly scrounging around inside the bottom to find lip balm, tissues, inhalers and the like.
Now I'm completely sorted.... and if I ever forget my name, or lose my medicare card, I can just pull out my pouch. Not just pretty - but functional too!

Twenty One
I'm heading off to a 21st tonight, so I decided after dinner lastnight that I should probably make a gift.
I don't really have any idea what a 21 year old would like (which is a sure sign that I'm getting really old)!
I did a little bit of blog surfing for inspiration and came across this Noodlehead Tutorial via Whip Up.
I didn't follow the complete tutorial as I need to whip up something really quickly, but I followed the instructions for the gathered front and back (substituting twill tape for the fabric band as I needed something plain).
Once I had the front and back sections ready, I just sewed it as a normal zippered pouch, also adding a D-ring at the side, so that I could attach a little detachable hand strap.
I'm also popping a little matching gadget pouch inside...
Fingers crossed that the birthday girl likes them!

The Finki Challenge - European Travels
If only I could brag that I've had real European Travels....... sadly I cannot, so I'm making up for it with my entry for the Finki Challenge.
I had this lovely Eiffel Tower fabric on hand so I whipped up a little Gadget Pouch.
You can find this one in The CurlyPops Shop!
I also had a custom ordered Sunnies / Specs Pouch last week which I really loved - it's a combination of Joel Dewberry and a lovely chocolate brown denim..... yum.
