Beached

I'm back from the beach, and I managed to achieve exactly what I wanted.

It was so amazing to be able to just go for a walk along the sand....

.... or just put my feet up and take in the view from the couch.

I even attempted a hit of tennis with the nephews!

There was only a teensy bit of crafting action. Two more hexy flowers have been joined together and added to the hexy stack. This is most definitely one of those extremely long-term projects.

Unfortunately I had to come home early after one of my meds made me sick. I'm back to the hospital tomorrow, so hopefully it'll all be sorted out pronto and I'll be back to my old self.

Hope everyone else had a lovely Easter break!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to one and all!

Maybe I should have made them some bunny ears???

* BTW that's a horse.... just in case you were thinking that it was a multi-storey motor car garage.

Jumping in Puddles

Yep, that's a big puddle of glue and fabric and yarn on my kitchen table.....sitting on a garbage bag.

My eldest nephew stays over on Tuesday nights.
We usually spend about an hour getting all of his weekly homework out of the way in one big session, but this week there's no homework as school finishes for Easter holidays on Friday (didn't they just start back)?

So to pass the normal homework time, we decided to make an Easter Basket.

I didn't have an art smock and he only had his school uniform, so we fashioned a smock out of a plastic shopping bag (just cut two armholes and a neckhole if you're wondering.... but I'm sure you're probably not).

He had a great time swirling all the bits around in the glue, and then plopping them on top, and all the way around the bowl*.

Let's just hope that that the puddle actually dries out by the time Easter rolls around!

* I used a pyrex bowl covered in gladwrap - I've never tried this before so I'm really hoping that it works.

Full to the brim

We celebrated Easter Sunday at my sisters house today

The tiny but intrepid warriors set off on an easter egg hunting adventure around the backyard.

It was a bit of a slow start, but they caught on pretty quickly once they realised that they could fill up their little carry bags with chocolate!

The table was set for a wonderful roast lamb and roast beef lunch with vegies and plenty of gravy........ but I had to save room for dessert

Homemade pavlova with peppermint crisp........

Homemade Creme Brulee.....

....and homemade Mars Bar Cheesecake (I had to bring a slice home because I just couldn't possibly fit in any more)!

Happy Easter!
