Manly Monday Graduation paper clip Card

The patterned paper is by Karen Foster and the gold cardstock is by Sizzix. The embossing folder is by Darice. So what I did with this card was I put both the patterned paper and white cardstock into the embossing folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug. This way I wouldn’t have to try and line them up together. The white gel pen by Sakura. the golden paper clip is unknown.

I don’t like top-folding cards. I’ve handed out a lot of Christmas cards to the elderly and when they were given a card they would try to open it as a side-folded card.

The other thing that I dislike with top folding cards is they don’t seem to stand upright, no matter what the thickness is of the cardstock. When you try to display them I find they do the splits.

So I put the paper clip in that spot so that they had to take it off and then they would lift it up. I made this card for the Craft Roulettee show on Friday nights.

The parameters were:

Project: A window, mine is the frame.

Colors: Bird colors, red, yellow, blue in the patterned paper.

Element: On the pond, the ripples around the word water ripples.

Random:Paper clip

UPDATE:

I changed it.

Brown Graduation card with center PP highlight with a Copic marker

This graduation card was made with someone in mind and then I couldn't find it. So, He got a different card. The background paper is by The Paper Studio AKA Hobby Lobby. The center piece of paper is by Best Creations. The graduation caps didn't stand out enough so I traced around them with a fine tip Copic marker.  I finished the card with a few stars sequins. Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas card book through the years with the Sarjeants

This first card really shows my old style of scrapbooking. I used many components of the actual Christmas card they sent with the photo. Things like the circle at the bottom. I cut it out with the Creative Memories cutting system. I circle punched the sentiment (Peace) and then larger green circles for them to stand out. Then, I cut out what was written on the inside and taped it onto the left side border stickers. I even cut out their signature and placed it below the title. I stamped their name on white cardstock and cut them out. That and the year is on the right side. It's a super old fashion way to scrapbook but that's what I did at that time.

The second one:
The big flower in the center is by Jolee's. The patterned paper is beautiful but unknown.
The banner and the stars in the corner were cut out with my Cricut

The third card:
The blue paper did all of the work, all I did was add their names on blue cardstock with Lawn Fawn ABC's stamps.

This 4th year is a little bit fancier.
There's a rhinestone circle around the year of the card.
The tag includes their last name because it isn't listed on the Christmas card.

The next thing we received is a graduation announcement
I made the sandy paper bottom left with torn paper and distress ink.
I used the sun rays stencil by Tim Holtz and Squeezed Lemon Distress ink.
On the right side, I used pre-made patterned paper.
I added the middle embellishments above and below her photo in the center.

Red and Black Graduation Cards

I believe these 2 are the last of the graduation cards.
I used a diploma stamp by Stampin Up
The sentiment is by sticker by Reminisce
The patterned paper is by The Paper Studio
The die- cuts are: Square from eBay, pennant by Lawn Fawn, and borders by Creative Memories.
The black border is not an easy scallop border.
Here, I will try to explain.
The bottom layer is red Rick-Rack that I used liquid glue to adhere to. I am not a fan of liquid glue, for this reason, the glue seeped out and was visible.

I took an old Creative Memories wave border and adhered it on top of a rick rack to cover the glue.
These borders came together to include the edges of the waves, see the next picture.
I adhered the edge border over the two layers to cover the waves and rick rack because they didn't match up completely and glue from the rick rack was still visible.

Simple easy card with cardstock and a printed sentiment.

Dry Embossed Happy Graduation Cards

This first card is my favorite out of the three cards.

The dry embossing folder is a Darice folder
I used a graduation stamp by TPC Studios
It is white heat embossed
The Happy die sentiment is by Clearly Besotted
The diploma Sticker is by Jolee's

The next card: Dry Embossing is a Cuttlebug folder
I inked the embossed words with Firebrick red distress marker.
The border is an oldie from my sticker stash.
The triangle and circle were scraps I found when I was cleaning my craft room.
IMO It’s not a good card but I have a feeling that the boy/young man that received it only cared about the contents inside.

I had higher expectations for this card because I used Firebrick red distress oxide ink on black cardstock. It looked great when I applied the ink but I was shocked and disappointed at how pink it turned out after it dried. What!
I still went with the original plan for this card to be red and black by adding red cardstock behind it and red washi tape from Stampin Up at the bottom.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my new posts.

I few graduation cards that I made

First Card.
The sentiment Happy is by Lawn Fawn with matching die
The sentiment Graduation is by TPC and is white heat embossed
The patterned paper is by Making Memories and My Mind's Eye
I'm not sure why I did the diagonal green paper.
It certainly gives a different look

Second card.
The patterned paper frame is from the patterned paper in the card above
The orange paper is by Sunborn.
The rays are a stencil by Tim Holtz using distress ink and oxide
The sticker is by K and Co

Last one.
The sentiment sticker is by K and Co
Brad by The Paper studio.
I made the background using Clear Dollar Stamps and Stampin Up.
I chose Stampin Up inks and would stamp off the ink before stamping on the paper.

Congratulations Graduate Card

2020 Graduates were so shafted. No spring break, no prom, no walking across the stage, no all night party. Nothing and it still breaks my heart.
Anyway, I did send some kids cards with money in them. Here is one of the cards.

The Congratulations is computer generated and the graduate is a sticker from The Paper Studio
The patterned paper is by Karen Foster
The diploma is a Jolee's sticker
I found the black and gold paper in my scraps.

Cricut Graduation card

I had a difficult time getting the layers to line up. So this is what I did:
I said screw it.
I'm not getting a headache from stressing out on making this card "perfect".
With that, I threw away or vacuumed up any tiny layers
I added this pretty gold glitter paper behind the letters and the tassel too.
I have come to hate glitter. It gets everywhere and you find it lingering on as something really annoying like mosquitos. Mosquitos suck your blood and move on whereas glitter is found in totes, clothes, countertops, carpets, rugs, in my hair and the dog's hair. Oh yes. The poor boy dog had glitter in HIS hair a week after using glitter. So...
I love this glitter cardstock from Michael's. It's the kind where the glitter stays on the paper.
Moving on.
I colored the rest of the cap with a black Copic marker. I don't love this part of the card but I have to get over it.
I adhered the white layer on top of the blue.

I stood back and thought, that's pretty. I may not want to give it away because sadly, the recipient will be more interested in what’s inside the card, than the card.
I like the way it turned out.

Deep Red stamps Drama card

One of the kids graduating was into drama and theater and so I made this card. Different from my normal graduation cards but kind of fun to be able to do something like this because it was made for them.
The movie clapper stamp is by Deep Red stamps and I did 1st and 2nd generation stamping with black ink. I found the drama faces on a Cricut cartridge. I put some graduation hats on top of their heads.
