Floral Friday Yellow n pink Basket Weave Card

The background was weaved together using paper scraps by Provo Craft, Sunborn and Creative Memories. The sentiment dies are from Clearly Besotted. The yellow flower is a stamp and matching die from Stampin Up. The pink flower is a die cut from Gemini and the smaller flower is a punch by Marvy Uchida.

Thanks for looking.

April Calendar Layout Sunflowers and Audrey

The green patterned paper is by Sunborn. The green cardstock is the other side of that patterned paper. The woodgrain patterned paper is by Pebbles.

The sunflower stamp is by Stampin Up. I added gold and bronze Perfect Pearls to the flower and fussy cut it out. I stamped the leaf in a green ink by SU.

For the blue sky, I used distress ink as the base and then added some translucent paint mixed with a powdered chalk which is like Perfect Pearls.

I imagined the patterned paper look like tall green leaves and the woodgrain look like the steps.

Thanks for looking.

February Calendar Layout Nora on the red bench

Happy Valentine’s Day.

I started by matting the pictures on to red cardstock by Stampin Up and added a red border to both sides of the red cardstock. I adhered that red clump to a piece of heart paper by Recollections. The title embellishment is from an unknown company. I’ll try to look at the package.

I made this calendar layout for the cottage. The picture of Annora B. was sitting on the red trailer as it was at the cottage that weekend. Mr Paul told her that she was sitting in my seat.
Why? When I walk Rusty at home I have to take a pain break and I sit on the same red trailer.

The second picture is us getting Dairy Queen for our 25th wedding anniversary. We’re high classy type peeps.

Thanks for looking.

January Calendar layout Grandpa Brian

Here we go with another year of Calendar layouts on Wednesday. This one was for my brother’s 2023 calendar. The blue background is the actual calendar base. February is pink. March is green. April is blue and so on. Sometimes I used the color instead of adding anything to it.
Anyway, I used some really old products for this layout. The snowflake paper circa 2005 and is by Colorbok. The large white snowflake on the right side was cut out with my Cricut. I have not touched my Cricut in well over a year.
The border at the bottom is a blue vellum by Creative Memories. The title on top is a Sunborn die cut and I can’t remember if the letters/words were in the circles or if I stamped them. I think that the letters are perfectly straight, so I’m going to say I didn’t stamp them.
Thanks for looking.

Floral Friday Puple and Pink Daisy card

The card today is a birthday card. The patterned paper is from a 6x6 paper pad by a Hampton Arts company called Studio G. The flower stamp is on a Spellbinders die cut.

Idk why I stamped the flower onto purple cardstock, seriously idk why. But then I used a Spellbinders die to cut it out...crooked. So it sat in my drawer until recently, before calendar season. I'm looking at it going, what do I do with this thing, which direction should the card be, why did I put foam adhesive on it and why didn't I hide the foam better? Ugh! I took a Copic marker and colored the foam adhesive purple when my hand jerked and the marker went on the die cut. Awesome. I colored the edges in the darker purple and again my hand jerked so I brought the color in toward the flower. The flower got lost on the die cut so I put Stickles in the center and I wish I wouldn't have. The card's orientation is portrait. Here are some other cards using the same stamp. Thanks for looking. The die cut in the center is a Cricut cut. It is 2 layers with the pink paper by Sunborn and the purple cardstock from my stash. Here is a fun fact about that die cut, on the back  it says, "CCR Cartridge Freebie called Labels."
Let me dissect that lingo; CCR is "Cricut Craft Room". That was the second computer software that the Cricut company used and could be used with the archaic Cricut Expression. The word "Cartridge" should also be a giveaway that these are old die cuts because Cricut went away with cartridges when they introduced the "Explore Air". When they released the Explore Air they also created a new software called "Design Space" to take place the CCR. Sadly, Cricut still uses the same DS software that it did back then. SMH.
Anyway, below are links of cards using the same daisy stamp.

Happy Holidays card with a wheel stamp border

The patterned paper in the center is by Sunborn. The red borders are stickers by Creative Memories. The patterned paper on top is unknown. the drool mark is by my dog, Rusty. I should probably cover it up unless you didn't see it until I pointed it out. The wheel stamp border on the right is by Stampin Up. The sentiment sticker is intended to go inside a bottle cap. Thanks for looking.

A picture of the card after a few additional stickers to get rid of the bad water spot. I don’t like it with the stickers but too late now.
Thanks for looking.

Diagonal pattern with Scraps of Green Christmas card

Patterned papers are by K&Co. Sunborn. Recollections. The stamp was inked with two different colors of distress markers. I huffed on it and stamped it onto the paper.  When you put one ink color on the stamp it tends to dry before you ink and stamp the next color.

August Calendar Layout of us at Cedar Springs Brewery

The border is be Sunborn. I put the two straight edges together and put the blue pearls border over the seam. The pretzel stamp is by Tim Holtz which I colored in with Copic markers and then inked the edges with distress ink. The beer bottle eyelet is by Eyelet Outlet. Thanks for looking.

Gabe Freshman year and 1st year Percussion

I used both sides of a patterned paper by Bo Bunny. I use Design Objectives label dies to make the banner at the bottom on the left. The alphabet and words stamps are by Lawn Fawn. The embroidery floss is by DMC. I’m sure where the freshman sticker is from.

On the right side, the the words at the top we’re. printed using my Cricut markers. The title letters are from my Quickutz and they are on a border  from Sunborn. The last thing is the drum that I cut out using my Cricut. Thanks for looking.

Fancy Folding Hello Donut Card

Isn’t he a cute little donut. I finally did one!! The pictures are crappy. Oh well. There’s nothing I can do but keep trying to make them better. I’m not sure how quickly a second donut card will come out because lately, My fingers aren’t working well and this card requires you to do a lot of folding. With high hopes and expectations I cut out more so I would make more. It’s like my Lawn Fawn reveal wheel cards. I have some in the drawer and they just need to be finished up. Anyway, the patterned papers are by Bazzill and Sunborn. The die is by Sizzix. I used distress ink around the edges . The Hello die is by Lawn Fawn. Thanks so much for looking. I’m entering the challenge Simon Says Stamp-challenge foodand Creatilouis-AG and another challenge Inkspirational-different type fold card

Accordion card With Candy Canes with a Yellow background

😭 The front sentiment smeared. But if you open the rest of the card, I think you can get past that. (I hope I fixed it before sending it out.)

The sentiment was created in Design Space and then I used a gel marker to write it on the white cardstock. I just didn't wait long enough or it got thrown on my desk and something piled over it. Anyway, this is old and I mean old patterned paper by Provo Craft. Green paper by Sunborn. Ribbon from Michael's. The back sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp and 2022 is a Stampendous stamp set. Thanks for looking. All of the accordion cards were made using a Melody Lane Cricut Design Space SVG.

Floral Friday Holly Trio of Cards Colored in with 3 different green combos

Hmmm...I'm not sure that I have a favorite. Do you?
They were all colored with Copic markers.
The first card uses very primary colors. (PP by Sunborn)
In the second card, the green is muted, as if it were aged. (PP by K and Co and the rub-on border is by American Crafts))
The third card is bright with a yellow hue to it. (PP from stash. Green from Michael's. Rick Rack from my stash)
Thanks for looking.

Floral Friday Belated Birthday wishes with a wreath

On my cards today I used chipboard from the same package by Prima. This first card uses a wreath die cut that is unknown. What I do know is that I dry embossed it by switching out my Cuttlebug plates with the paper (by Basic Grey) still in the die.
Then recently I pulled it out from a bin and thought it matched the chipboard circle in the center. I used chalk over the raised areas of the entire wreath. (or maybe distress ink-not sure).
The ribbon is from my stash. I tied the bow with the ribbon wrapped around the front panel. Then once the bow is to my liking I use a Zot or two to secure it to the front of the card. I then go to the back of the panel and cut the ribbon so I can pull it tight resulting in no sagging in the front. With the two ends of ribbon, I use Gorilla packing tape to secure them to the backside of the panel. I hope that made sense. The sentiment is by StampingScrapping (no longer in business)

On these two cards, I took a pre-made border and made it fit around the edges

Thank you for looking.

Chalk Heart Anniversary Card

How about a little love this Tuesday.
The border stamp by TPC Studio was heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The heart is from Stamp n Plus (no longer in business) and the powdered chalk that they sold was the stamping medium.
The die-cut leaves were cut out using my Cricut with the draw and cut feature on some Creative Memories greenish colored vellum with a pattern on it.
The pink patterned paper under the border is by Studio G and the pink mat patterned paper is by Sunborn.
I inked the edges with distress ink.
I was going to do a heart pattern stamped background but I didn't care for it. It is visible in the closeup.

Multiple layered Flower Pink Card

I can't totally explain the pictures because I have PT. Let's just say getting the gromet and the brad in the middle was a challenge because I could not use my Crop-o-dile.

The sentiment stamp is from a dollar bin from Michael's and stamped in white pigment ink by SU

The die-cuts-Spellbinders

The patterned paper is by Sunborn

The master plan has been set as you can see in the photo below.

And here is the pretty card again.

Calendar page Wednesday Daddy Layout

I have so many calendar scrapbook layouts that I haven't posted and would like to.

So Wednesday will be my day for the calendar layouts and will coincide with that month.

I will be posting calendar pages from 2019, 2020, and 2021 calendars. I make calendars for my brother, for our cottage, and for our home. You might even see calendars from earlier years.

I posted one last week and here's week 2:

June-The Paper Studio and Sunborn patterned paper. Cardstock by Coordinations, Recollections, and Oriental Trading Co. Cricut title.

3 die cuts on 2 Blue and Green cards

These card fronts have been in my “finish up” tote for awhile. Time to use them and get them mailed out.

The brads are from my stash. Feels nice to use products from my stash.
The sentiment is a stamp by Stampibilities.

The die-cuts are by Spellbinders.

The patterned paper is by Making Memories with distress ink around the edges

The second card, the borders are from Sunborn
All the other papers are scraps from my stash.
I don’t like the way that the glue makes the paper warp
I’m not sure what else to do with this card.
It will come to me. I’ll find something while I’m looking for something else.

I’m going to go a little bit off the camera to share with you some honest self evaluation.
I see some patterns in my workflow that could use improvement
When I “have” to do something and I’m bored with it, I find lots of other things to instead. I have examples followed by my excuse which I have listed as a defense.

1.Stamp names and dates on scraps of cardstock that I will use to label people in scrapbooks.
Defense-I will use those more than any of the other things that I’m going to list
1AFight with my Cricut and watch YouTube videos that don’t help.

2. Add designs of paper that are filed in the cabinet by design into the folders that are kept in totes which are divided by color.
Defense-I do not usually look at a picture and say, “This needs a polka dot pattern.” What I do is go over to my totes of paper and grab the folder with the color I’m looking for. There may be a polka dot paper in that folder and that’s the way I would find it. I’m not going to the polka dot paper folder.
That was confusing.

3. Separate and organize colored paper in totes.
Defense-There are so many shades of blue that I put like shades together in a folder to make it easier for me.

4.
I take stamped images out of the drawer and find paper that matches. Then I put the paper and image into a baggy before moving it into the tote of cards to finish.
Defense-this does make it easier for me when I quickly need to put a card together.

5. Organize the baggies so the same size bags are in the same folder using label maker and all.
Defense-another time saver.

7. Clean my craft room. This is a bad one. As I’m cleaning, I will come across many treasures. Some lost treasures.
Such as, finally finding that one paper I needed for this one  layout.
Looking at everything around me I get bummed out and feel overwhelmed.
Good and Bad News:
PS. I found the layout and it didn’t work, of course it didn’t. I even tried it on another popcorn layout and it didn’t work.

8. I will look online for inspiration, which I never seem to find on social media so I look at my old blog posts. I do find inspiration but I also find that a lot of my earlier blog posts don’t have labels, the links aren’t valid anymore, and the picture is small and sometimes with no watermark. So, fix the problems and it takes me forever because I’d number 9.
8A. So then, I’ve been wanting to do this... I want to grab all of my old Manly Monday posts and put my card on top of the post so it’s the first one you see. It’s never going to happen with my iPad unless I get a new oneI’m crazy! There are so many.a

9. Fight with iCloud to transfer my photos to my computer so the stupid thing stops telling me I have used 49 of my 50G and will need to upgrade to the next storage level. Why would I do that when I can’t find my 49G pictures and organize them the way I want too! That really makes me mad and usually ends with the worst one,
10. Go get something to eat

That’s all I have to say about that.
