Floral Friday Happy 27th Anniversary to us

This is the anniversary card I made for my husband. Well, we were lucky to be able to take a vacation up north with family on the actual day of our anniversary. Sadly, I forgot the card at home, and even worse, I still haven’t given it to him.

The flower was folded crêpe paper/streamer paper. I had stamped it with a Stampin Up wheel stamp and gave it a little bit of Stickles. The arch die was a Cricut cut. The doily is by Doodlebug. The letters and heart are like Quickuts. And the patterned paper is by Papertrey Ink.

Card made this card for Craft Roulette #219
Parameters:
Project – anniversary.
Colors – garden salad. I looked up salads and found one with brown rice, walnuts, and tomatoes.
Element – new. The letter dies are new to me.
Random – fold a corner. The flower has many folded corners.

Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday Poker BIL's Card

This is the front of the card. The crimper is by Fiskars. The little playing cards are dies by Quickutz. The patterned paper underneath the straight flush is by Tim Holtz. I'm not sure about the bottle cap but it beautifully fits in as a 10 of hearts. The alphabet stamps are by Oriental Trading Co. It's a great little set.
And this is the inside of the card. The inside letters are Michael's. I thought it was witty
Straight Flush? Nope! 4 of a kind for our 7 card stud
because he turned 47
But now that I read again, it's hard to understand.

This is a fabric that I used heat and bond to attach the fabric to the cardstock.
Cricut cut the four and seven.
And then I tripped on the finish line and cut the word kind in the wrong spot. It turned out fine.
Thanks for looking.

Gabe Freshman year and 1st year Percussion

I used both sides of a patterned paper by Bo Bunny. I use Design Objectives label dies to make the banner at the bottom on the left. The alphabet and words stamps are by Lawn Fawn. The embroidery floss is by DMC. I’m sure where the freshman sticker is from.

On the right side, the the words at the top we’re. printed using my Cricut markers. The title letters are from my Quickutz and they are on a border  from Sunborn. The last thing is the drum that I cut out using my Cricut. Thanks for looking.

A card for a Young Lady with a blue star background

I made this for a young lady in the family and then forgot to send it.

The yellow paper was dry embossed with a Swiss Dot Cuttlebug embossing folder. I inked it lightly with olive green distress ink.

The little girl image is a digital stamp. I would have to look way into the deepest part of my computer to find out the artist.
I colored her in with Copic markers

The brad is by Creative Imagination.

The die-cut stars are cut out with Quickutz

The patterned paper is by Studio G

June Calendar Layout Charter Fishing

I'm dedicating Wednesday as a Calendar layout day. I will post June layouts in June and so on but I can't say I will be in order with the years. I'd like to be but unfortunately, I know I won't be able to organize that.
PP-Old MME and DCWV. Font-Quickutz. License plate-Karen Foster. Hooks-Jolee's from 2013. The dates on some of my old products astonish me.
This LO is from the 2021 home calendar.
Thanks for looking.

The happy couple groomsman layout

Family album book layouts.
I used a sticker Happy Couple” by Me and My Big Ideas
The flowers are by Michael’s and Prima
The letters and swirls die-cuts are by Quickutz

The arrow was cut out using my Cricut
I added the black paper to make it stick out more.

The patterned paper is by My Mind’s Eye.

Originally, the price of the paper was 59 cents. That should say the age of this paper but I found that when I flipped the paper over it had a 6 for $1.00 sticker.

This is another layout with my FIL as a groomsman. As of now, I don't have a supply list for this one.

Prom 1959 Scrapbook Layout

I was so excited to use these prom stickers that have been in my stash for years.
Then look what I did...
Well, for the rest of the layout I used these products:

The white die- cuts behind the photo I cut out using my Cricut.
The patterned paper is by Creative Memories.

I fixed it by placing a zig zag edged chipboard border from Joann’s over the words on the stickers.
From there, I added a white strip of cardstock to the center.
On top of the cardstock are the correct words using Quickutz letters.
In the center of the words, is a Quickutz swirly die cut with a flower in the center.
It’s not perfect but I’m okay with that.

This is the second page and all of the die cuts were cut using my Cricut.

Here are the two layouts side by side as they will be in the book.

Thanks for looking.
I searched my blog for this layout and could not find it. I hate to post duplicates.
Let me know if you see it. Thank you.

Today this guy turns 18. He hasn’t changed much.
Check out the layout on yesterday’s post (April 11, 2021)
For a recent picture of him.

Dan and Gabe Christmas card 2020

I have another Gabe scrapbook layout for today. It is a before and after layout.
I used jute by Tim Holtz. I  wrapped it around the corners of the 2020 paper. I then used foam adhesive behind that piece.

The 2020 are Quickutz dies
The green foliage on the second layout, is a die-cut by Gina Marie

The tree patterned paper is by Craft Smith. The center stripes paper is a Bazzill 6x6 and then the reddish background paper is unknown. It’s old.

I decided to add his age to the Christmas card layouts.
Stamped letters in the circle is by Lawn Fawn.

Manly Monday Joe in 3rd Grade in Germany Layout

Sorry I’m late. I was working on Easter cards, which you will see the rest of this week.

I also want to make a disclaimer. I’ve been editing this post for over an hour. There may be poor wording and punctuation. I tried. Lol

Here we go!

I have an old layout of my FIL as a child in Obervac, Yugoslavia where he was born and lived until 1953 at which time he and his parents came to America. They settled down and made roots in Detroit, MI where my FIL's parents lived until his father’s death.

My MIL was born and raised in East Detroit, MI. She met and dated my FIL in high school. He was two grades ahead of her. A few years after the two were married in 1961 they moved to Grand Rapids, MI for a job opportunity for him with the IRS.

The "May 1949" stamps are by Close to my Heart

The arrow sticker pointing out my FIL is by Becky Higgins

The die- cuts are by Cricut (for the 3rd) and Quickutz (word grade)

The patterned papers are by K and I Memories, Die Cuts with a View, and Colorbok

I’m entering this layout into not a card challenge at

The Male Room

Next, is the opposite side of this layout is a pocket page with some information about the family.

If you look at the bottom right pocket, you will see the photo of Joe and Opa with words next them. Those were the words written on the back picture.

So what I did to preserve this part of the family’s story is, I scanned the  backside of the photo and then printed it on photo paper to place next to the photo. Problem is, I’m not sure how to tell people looking at the scrapbook what that is.

I’m open for suggestions. I started doing this early on with my MIL’s photos because honestly having old photos that are labeled are hard to come by.

The problem with my FIL's pictures, many of them are written in German.

You know what, Oh well. I think it's pretty cool and I hope the next generation will too. (And maybe learn German. Lol)

Here are the two layouts side by side. They sort of match each other. To me sort of is close enough.

I will now share with you my own personal quote:

"It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be done"
-Cindy Groh

Manly Monday Fish on Black Paper Cards

I saw this technique on Splitcoast Stampers. When the card is in your hands the fish catch your eyes making you want to look at it more closely.
I stamped the fish with Versa Mark ink and then dried the images with a heat gun.
Then I colored the open area of the images in with some colored pencils by Stampin Up and Faber-Castell. The Faber-Castell pencils produce very vibrant colors that go well with this technique. I found that regular colored pencils didn’t show up on the black cardstock.

The fish stamps are by Close to my Heart

The hook die-cut is by Quickutz and the silver string is from my stash

The sentiment in the card below is a Lawn Fawn die cut.

For the next two cards, I think the bubble patterned paper is by Paper Pizzazz.
The sentiment stamps are both from Michael’s dollar bin

Best wishes sentiment stamp is hiding in my room. So I’m not sure on that one.

And the last card,
The sentiment is a Lawn Fawn Stamp.
The background paper is dry embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
