Christmas Penguin Present Card

I sent in cards to the Just Cards magazine to be published and was surprised when my package was "Return to sender". I searched online and their website is up but nothing is available to purchase. I read, accuracy is unknown, the company came in and informed it's employees that they no longer had a job because they were no longer going to be publishing magazines. Bummer.
Small tidbit on sending in cards-When I sent my cards in I would always include a return address envelope and postage so I could get my card back. If you don't do so, your card is not returned to you. I didn't know what they did with them and hated to think my cards would be thrown away. So regardless that it was a hassle and more expense to get the cards returned I still did it. My point? They sent me every card that had previously been sent in and not yet been published. They didn't have to do that. It was very nice of them to respect my wishes to have my cards returned to me.
Thank you Just Cards magazine and RIP.
My card descriptions were typed up to read as directions in a magazine. To save on time, I copied and pasted those instructions into my blog posts and have my fingers crossed that the formats will work well together.

Penguin Present
Start by making a green card base 4 ¼  x 5 ¼ with Recollections cardstock
Stamp a penguin by JustRite Stamps (Christmas Joy Set)
by coloring the layers with Smooch Inks (Colorbox).
Then color in the rest of the Penguin and die cut out using a Spellbinders oval die.
Die cut a rectangle with rounded ends out of green cardstock by Coredinations.
Cut a red cardstock background 2 ¾ x 3 ½  and wrap a piece of green with
red polka dots (May Arts) to the center and around to the back.
Trim down a piece of iridescent white paper (K and i) to 4 x 5 and wrap the same
ribbon down the center.
Adhere the penguin layers to the white paper and then to green card base.

Sit back and Relax card

The background of this card is in embossing folder by quickutz. I inked the folder with paint mixed with powdered chalk.  The reading is from May parts the diecut behind the bottle cap is by DO crafts. The sentiment is by unity stamp company  and is stamp on a Gina Marie designs diecut. The lemon is a doodle bug sticker.

I am now doing my blog posts using the voice activation on my iPad. I haven't figured out how to make companies with start with capital letters. I'm still learning. Doing posts this way is really helping the pain in my wrists that I incur from typing.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

May All your Wishes card

I have another birthday card today as part of my mass birthday card making to beef up my stash. The two patterned papers are by Recollections and K and Co. The stamped flower image is by Stampendous and I colored it in with colored pencils. I trimmed the image down and adhered it to a Spellbinders purple die cut.

I wrapped a piece of purple/blue ribbon by May Arts around the patterned paper and stamped the sentiment with Ranger purple ink.

DW Turtle Thanks

I have a non stamping card today. This one involves Dreamweaver Stencils Sea Turtle and also this Thanks greeting. I received a package in the mail, a while back, from the then owner of Dreamweaver Stencils Lynell Harlow full of May Arts ribbon. This was one of the ribbons in the package and it had this sentiment on it with white embossing paste. I felt like I had found a treasure and had to hang on to it like the hoarder I am. But recently I ran across it and decided to use it on my turtle card. So I can't take credit for the sentiment however the turtle is dry embossed and then inked with distress inks and an ink blending tool. I think he turned out cute. I matted him onto an aqua cardstock by Sunborn and then the green paper is by Cherry Arte {not sure if they are still around or not} and the aqua patterned paper is from my stash unmarked.

Manly Monday Frigate

My card today features a large Dreamweaver Stencil called Frigate. I spread Dreamweaver Stencils white embossing paste over the stencil and set aside to let dry. I then placed the stencil back over the embossed area and brought in color with distress inks and an ink blending tool. I masked off the areas where I didn't want that particular color with Post It notes. Then to get the smaller areas of color in the image I used Inkssentials Cut N Dry pen nibs by Ranger with darker distress ink.

The rest of my card has patterned paper by Rusty Pickle. Ribbon by May Arts and sentiment sticker by Three Bugs in a Rug. The fancy compass is a die cut from the Cricut cartridge Wall Decor and More. It was a freebie cut of the week on Cricut Craft Room that I was able to take advantage of.

Welcome back to this week's edition of Manly Monday. I hope you will take a moment and check out the cards by other crafters and leave them some love. There's only a couple today but they are fabulous. Click on the blog title above the clip of their card to be directed to the masculine card. And also if you like what you see here I would love for you to become a follower of my blog. Thank you.

Dreamweaver Stencils Showers

Ever use the expression, "When it rains, it pours"? This does not have to be a bad thing, does it? For the month of April, the Dream Team are featuring "Showers of Showers" as our theme. As usual, we'd love for you to play along. Just link your creation on the Dream It Up! blog for a chance to win the stencil of your choice...bonus chances for incorporating Dreamweaver and/or Stampendous in your design. Here's what I'm showering you with this week...
I used the Petals background stencil because they look more like rain drops to me. I dry embossed the pattern and then inked it with Ranger's distress ink and an ink blending tool. The blue die cut is by Dreamweaver Stencils called the Nesting Dies out of Coredinations cardstock. I die cut the umbrella by Marianne Designs and the word baby by Clearly Besotted out of white cardstock {Recollections} and inked them with green distress ink. To finish up my card the ribbon is by May Arts and the rhinestones by Queen and Co.

And that’s our theme!! Making Texture. We hope you’ll enjoy the wonderful inspiration that three talented teams will bring you this week! Be sure to visit all the blog links listed and leave your comments! Each comment will count as an entry towards one of the terrific prize packages.
Here are the designer’s sharing the projects today —
My card uses Stampendous stamp that can only be found at Woodware (404 error) Thank you Stamp and a Large Damask stencil can be found at Woodware or Stencil with Style
I inked the stencil with Ranger distress ink and an ink blending tool. Then I used transparent embossing paste over the whole pattern and set it aside to dry. The big ribbon is by May Arts which I've tied into a bow. The twine is by Lawn Fawn and I wrapped it around the bulk of the bow before tying it into a bow too. I stamped the sentiment by Stampendous in Hero Arts black ink on a Clearly Besotted die cut made of Neenah Solar White cardstock. Then I adhered the whole front panel onto a 5 1/4 square card base by The Paper Studio.

Dream It Up Potted Tulips

Ready for fresh air, sunshine, new leaves, and flowers blooming? Well, the Dream Team is right there with you! Our challenge for the month of March is...coincidentally...Marching into Spring. Per usual, we'd love to have you play along with us, and link your own creations to the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog, or at the bottom of this post. Play as many times as you'd like. Those of you who work Dreamweaver and/or Stampendous products into your projects receive bonus points, but everyone has an opportunity to be the winner who receives the stencil of their choice.

Here's my hint of Spring:

My card is made with the stencil Potted Tulips by Dreamweaver Stencils which you can find at

I dry embossed the image in my Cuttlebug and then while the stencil was still taped to the cardstock I inked the image with distress ink and an ink blending tool both by Ranger. I trimmed down the image and layered it onto Bazzill patterned paper and then onto a piece of pink patterned paper also by Bazzill. The ribbon is by May Arts and under the ribbon is a border punch by EK Success in pink cardstock. Then the sentiment is a stamp by Stampendous stamped in charcoal ink by Hero Arts.

Here's my hint of Spring:

I inked the Birdbath Stencil with distress ink by Ranger and was able to get into some of the smaller spots by using nibs that they have. Then I used some Bazzill patterned paper, a sentiment sticker by Pebbles and some May Arts ribbon to finish it off. It turned out quite pretty.
