Throwback | hello CAKE

Still going with the unshared layouts found in my drafts folder.  2018 me is such a bad blogger! I think pretty much all of the supplies are from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. The blue looks like Dazzlerz from Shimmerz.  I no longer have any as it takes eons to dry... but it does look good! Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas ATC's VI

This ATC was assembled from left overs and embellished with sequins...  I love the way the star sequins sit in the holes in the wooden tree. Thanks for stopping by!

Stash Busting | Literally!

I scrapped along with Stash Busting yesterday.  When I recently redid my craft room I collated all of the half dones and page kits/idea bags and vowed to get them used up.  These two layouts resulted in two empty bags and one slightly slimmer less full bag! This is Grammercy Road by Gossamer Blue.  I love this collection and wish they were still around making more collections.  I didn't bust the bag but I did have fun and get some used up. The Stash Busting prompt was to use no right angle with  the exception of your photo and 12x12 sheet.  I started off promisingly but as I cut my triangles in half I created right angles.  Doh! I also got a few cork pieces (SpiegelMom Scraps) and some thin wood veneer (Color Cast Designs) used up.  I find both these materials hard to get on the page so I was rather chuffed to have used both on the same page! Next up a photo and title from one bag and some black and white scraps from another....

Sweetest

Here is my first layout using StickerKitten's new Sweet Pastels range. You can watch the layout come together here: I've done lots of layering with these gorgeous papers. There is some white texture paste in the background for added interest and some sparkly sequins added around the page too. There are two stamp sets in the collection and I've heat embossed a sentiment stamp to serve as my title.  Aren't those wooden sweets adorable? Here, have a twofer! In the other stamp set that matches these papers there is the cutest little cottage and accessories. This was an experiment masking and stamping in different coloured inks and then watercolouring the open spaces with those same coloured inks.  I liked the outcome so much that it was upgraded from experiment to success and made it on to the front of a card. Thanks for stopping by!

Skull and Cross Buns Stencils

Skull and Cross Buns have some fun new stencil designs - check them out here . I have a couple of cards and a layout to share now and a whole bunch of partially finished projects using these stencils - I may have got carried away! The Raindrops stencil is very apt for me right now - I feel like I could have made this card for myself! Sentiment stamp also from Skull and Cross Buns, ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, heart and sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps. I love this pattern!  This is the Diamond Harlequin stencilled in blue/green ombre then the stencil shifted over by half a repeat and black stencilled on top. Having tried and failed to get this foam SMILE from Jillibean Soup on to three scrapbook layouts I figured I'd try and get it on to a card.  Enamel dots (from Pretty My Page) add a finishing touch. Gold edges and colour matched foam because the tiny details matter!  This layout uses the Dots and Spots stencil in the background. ...

Dream Big

Every StickerKitten collection comes with kraft and black patterned papers.  My initial reaction to them was 'I wonder if you can foil them?'  Well, the first try didn't work BUT it was because I used the wrong kind of foil.  Who knew there were different kinds of heat activated foil?!  The results were not the perfect teal fish on a kraft background that I was hoping for.  Whilst the fish were perfect the foil stuck to most of the background, too, but it was too good to throw away. I pulled out a sheet of teal 12x12 glitter cardstock to use as my background, my wrongly foiled paper and a few more of the kraft papers from Mermaid Treasures .  I based my layout on the latest sketch in the For The Love Of Pretty Paper facebook group. I used an acrylic piece from Skull and Cross Buns for my title. The wooden pieces from StickerKitten were coloured up with Liquitex ink.  I added details to them with mica powder and chunky glitter. Glittery Hands Box - June

Sharing a layout made with my June Glittery Hands Box today... Check out the write up over on the Glittery Hands Box blog!

Jesse John

Ah, Cocoa Vanilla... my first love! Most of the supplies used on this layout are from their newest collection with a fwe oldies thrown in for good measure! Lots of mixed media and sewing too.  I've mainly used Shimmerz products in the background but it was a case of matching colours rather than matching brands. The alphas were deep in my stash, I can't remember where from, but they are the perfect match. Thanks for looking!

Stashbusting: Wood Veneer

I have a love hate relationship with wood veneer.  I apparently love to buy it and hate to use it!! So I aimed to use a whole bunch all on one layout and this is what happened!  The cut file and the majority of the wood are from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I stuck to using white and the colour of the wood.  This helps to keep a clean and fresh look and keeps the focus on the wood (as well as the all important photo!) I added some white hand sewing for texture... and popped my title up on foam.  I love the way that this casts shadows. I also added a generous coat of irridescent splatters which show in real life much better than they show in the photos! Thanks for watching!

gift wrapping

Fancy wrapping is my thing so I love this time of year! I've used Crafty Ribbons Gingerbread ribbon on this parcel... If you need me I'll be sitting on the floor surrounded by wrapping supplies!!

Kelly Barron

This week's SpiegelMom Scraps project was to scraplift our guest designer - Kelly Barron. I took days to decide which layout to lift.  I could have lifted Kelly 's entire back catalogue!! I eventually settled on the layout above - a stunner, I'm sure you'll agree. As you can see from the video I pulled out some Shimmerz Dazzlerz and Texturez.  They are currently 50% off in the shop .  Add my code: Laura15 and you'll get an absolute bargain! The stencil is from Pretty My Page and I'm sure will become one of my favourites. The sequins are Rollin' Rustic and are the perfect neutral sequin mix. Thanks for stopping by!

Bobby's Frame

I have another box frame to share... This one is 90% Cocoa Vanilla supplies... The wood star confetti and tiny star stickers are not CVS. I'm not the biggest fan of wood veneer shapes but the CVS collections always catch my eye... this hello banner is gorgeous! And I was pleased to use the vellum and acetate stars from the Totally Rad and Made of Awesome collections as a feature. No sequins in this one - he's not a fan - so I restrained myself.  I think I'd like it better with a few sequins in!! ;) Thanks for looking!
