Birds | Pretty My Page

For today’s layout for Pretty My Page I have used half of Tweet Tweet – a pre-cut cut file designed by Confessions Of A Paper Addict.   I’m all about stretching supplies so being able to get two layouts from one pre-cut has got to be a good thing, right?  You can get your pre-cut birds here . I’ve added two borders of white sewing to my white 12x12.   This adds detail and texture but still leaves the white space that I love. I pulled out some Pretty Little Studio stash.   I kept my supplies in a limited colour palette – mustard, red (and a few shades in between), a touch of black and maroon.   I picked out a flair button as I seem to collect them and not use them.   (My worst scrappy trait!)   I backed the bird cut file with two papers – one a mustard parquet wood grain and the other artistic poppies.   I didn’t like the amount of background paper showing on the poppy paper so I ended up cutting out the individual flowers and overlapping them.   This gave me a solid area

Today & Always

I'm on a roll with scraplifting for this weeks Mind The Scrap challenge... First up is this clean and simple layout based on Claire Murphy's original. My supplies are from Pretty Little Studio - a mixture of collections, the stars are from Ashley Horton's Wish You Were Here. The project life cards which are gold foiled (which means REALLY hard to photograph!) are all adhered at different heights.  It's those little details that I love! There are few more coming but will be spread out over the next couple of weeks... stay tuned!

est 2002

I've just got my hands on some of Ashley Horton's Wish You Were Here collection from Pretty Little Studios.  It is lush!  I wish I had bought more than I did! I got the 6x6 papers and knew this stripy paper needed to be cut up and stuck back down spaced out.  I added a tonne of mixed media and some stitching. I can't wait to make more with this collection.  There are some aeroplanes which I'm itching to use!  My grandfather (and my uncle) was a pilot so I need to find some photos of him to print off. Thanks for looking!

Stick It Down

Here is the sketch I designed for Stick It Down for this month's challenge: And here is my take on the sketch: Here's the process: I've used Ashley Horton's Oakley Avenue from Pretty Little Studio.  I absolutely love this pattern so bought it in a paper, a vellum and an acetate finish. As I had used acetate and vellum I added very little glue and secured them to the page with machine stitching. I'd love to see you joining us at Stick It Down

Love (Let's Get Sketchy and SpiegelMom Scraps)

Hey there.  Here is my take on the last SpiegelMom Scraps and Let's Get Sketchy team up... I've used goodies from Pretty Little Studio's Oakley Avenue, a watercolour resist tile by Amy Tangerine, and cork , sequins and Shimmerz from SpiegelMom Scraps . I chopped my photo in half and stretched it either side of the circular tile. I could spend days colouring things like this in! I just adore this vellum - Ashley Horton did such a fab job with this collection. Here's the process video...

Leaf Love

Over at SpiegelMom Scraps we are linking up with Let's Get Sketchy for the entire month of November... This week's sketch is by our Sara and screamed at me to play with lots of squares on the diagonal - so that is what I did.  I've used various sequin mixes from SpiegelMom's - Falling Leaves , Autumn Joy , A Day In the Woods - along with some cork hearts . The rest of the supplies are from Ashley Horton's Oakley Avenue from Pretty Little Studio. I'm hoping to get my photography back up to a higher standard soon, just as soon as my health levels out and the shakes fade back a bit!
