Pretty My Page | Wonky Fair Isle

Today I am using the Wonky Fair Isle cut file.  This is the third of three new cut files designed by me available at Pretty My Page as either pre-cuts or as a download. You can download the cut file here or purchase it pre-cut on white, cream or black card here . I have used Pinkfresh Studio’s Home For The Holidays collection for this layout.  (Stock up here!)   Rather than backing the main shapes (the trees and the stars) I opted to back the area around them.  I did back the reindeer though.  After much searching I found some cork to back them.  I’m short on brown papers that have a warm tone, my kraft was too grey-ish.  The cork adds an extra texture too. I created a little cluster and title using various pieces of ephemera, stickers and a word cut from a patterned paper, piecing together a title of “Christmas sweater magic”.   I embellished with some pale blue enamel dots and shiny gold sequins. Alpaca Wishes

Here is my first DT piece using the fantastic new Alpaca Wishes from StickerKitten.  Sarah did a Facebook live launch last night and you can order from the website now. I started off with 100 ideas but settled on using the hot chocolate mugs first.  They are my favourite part of the kit and feature both as ephemera pieces and a clear stamp. Here's the video: Thanks for stopping by!

Pigs Might Fly

When I saw this ribbon I knew I wanted to recreate the little tomte in paper form.  Who could possible resist a nisse riding a pig?! I made a pattern and paper pieced him together in matching cardstock.  I tried to include all the details from Ali's design.  I made it slightly dimensional by layering - I guess that is decoupage? I attached the nisse to the card in such a way that he spins... now not only do we have a nisse riding a pig we have a flying pig!! I'd love to give you directions on how to create a spinner card but I worked from several tutorials that I found on you tube and still ended up wondering off on my own path.  I will share clear instructions when I have them, it's on my list of things to do in the new year. Supplies: Ribbon from the Nisse collection from Crafty Ribbons Sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps paper from my stash Thanks for looking!

It's Frosty!

It is challenge time over at Crafty Ribbons Challenges .  This time the theme is 'Shaped' so either the base of your project needs to be shaped (other than the regular square or rectangle) or you can add a shaped character. I've made another gift tag featuring a hand cut snowman... His scarf is scarlet snowflake ribbon , his eyes and coal are from the black basics2go buttons.   Slightly obsesed with layering my tags at the moment.  The back tag is stamped and embossed. The middle tag is a vellum pocket of snow - or chunky white glitter. And it is all held together with 3mm grosgrain . Come over ad join us, won't you?
