Remember seeing this on my desk about a month ago?  Well it is now fully coloured. And doesn't it look stonking?!  I made it in to this layout... It didn't really need much adding to it as it is quite busy in its own right.  I wanted to subdue the background where the photo was, but not to block it out completely - step in plastic wrapping from a bunch of flowers! Then to the alphas... well I tried to pull in as many colours as possible.  When I had finished the title I decided it needed some purple.  I don't have any purple alphas so I had a look through my purple embellishments and settled on the arrow paperclip. This may be my favourite layout...  I am on the look out for more 12x12 sheets I can colour in! Thanks for stopping by.

On my desk today... At last the finished doodled paper!  It is so colourful and happy - I love it!  When I finished my immediate thought was 'what else can I colour in?' Also a giant leaf that led to all sorts of inky and painty fun!! I hope to post the finished layout using this paper tomorrow... My Like For Ever kit arrived and I had to put a self-imposed ban on playing until my deadlines had been reached.  It was painful but needed! And now that they have been reached I shall be playing with these goodies!! Yesterday I was working on some NSD projects... I am up on the Crafty Ribbons Inspirations blog today.  This is the project I am sharing; A tag from Spiegel Mom Scraps, a cut file from the Silhouette bundle, a scrap of ink soaked paper, a couple of alpha stickers and an enamel dot. A close up of the details... I made the ruffle using white ribbon from a £1 ribbon pack .  I set my sewing machine to the longest, straight stitch possible and sewed down the middle of the ribbon - it doesn't even need to be a straight line, which is just as well really!!  Then pull on one thread and ease the ribbon along, et voila!  Secure the threads with a knot so it doesn't unruffle over time.  I find the super sticky red backed tape the easiest way to stick ruffles down. It had been a few days since I blogged.  I needed to make something little. Here is a little something I whipped up with some pale pink and pale blue snippets... It is challenge day at Crafty Ribbons Challenges today - The gorgeous La Vikinga set us the theme of circles . I have used three different ribbons to create my feature circle - Vintage Script, Gold edged, and Swiss dots sheer .  I tacked them down with a few stitches and then covered the stitches with wooden stars. Good Morning Deskers ! On my desk today a sheet of paper screaming out to be coloured in!  I gave it a coat of clear gesso yesterday so I can use my inktense pencils and water without the paper going soggy and disintegrating.  Now I just have to decide on the colour scheme... Also note the huge pile to the right - I have been doing the shove and go method - it might be time for a putting away session! Thanks for stopping by!

Back in 2006 I saw a painting I liked.  It wasn't for sale so I decided to replicate it.  The first attempt was too pink for me so I have tried again... I cheated a used the outline from the first painting and flipped it, for my starting point.  I used watercolour pencils to map it all out and then filled in with India ink.  Details were added using a combination of the two mediums.  The canvas is about 60cm x 75cm. Linking up to A Sprinkle Of Imagination where I bought my India inks and Inktense pencils.

I saw a lovely sketch, one that I couldn't ignore.  I pretty much copied it exactly - there was not much interpretation on my part, just direct lifting.  That is how much I liked the sketch!  I had saved some printed cellophane that a bunch of flowers came in.  I knew I could use on a layout.  I have a little fascination with ruffles at the moment.  Not really pretty girly ruffles but ruffles with a bit of edge.  I cut a strip of the cellophane and used my sewing machine to sew down the middle.  Then I pulled one of the threads to create the ruffle.  It wasn't completely successful as the cellophane started to perforate along the line of stitches, but it held together enough to use.  I stuck it down with super sticky red back tape so it is not going anywhere now!! This layout started as a card... The L O V E squares were a card but I realised it wasn't suitable for who it was meant for, so I made another one for them, and kept this one for me!  I cut it up with the idea of making a layered grid layout inspired by Susie Fish and Meaghen Calder . My wonderful Pet Crocheter came in handy and made a holey square for my neon gelli tag to peep through. Those gorgeous neon confetti hearts come from Things That Shine .  A combination of paper bags, envelopes, tags, off cuts and lace tissue make up the bulk of the layering.  A few cameo cuts painted with acrylic paint, some snippets of gelli printed ribbon and washi tape made up the rest. Oh, and gelli printed lace too! I also used up the rest of my Heidi Swapp photo corners.  Really satisfying to use them up! Thanks for stopping by!

I used modelling paste, gel medium and mica powder through a Finnabair stencil for the background.  I mixed the gel and the paste together to give a slightly more translucent finish to the paste then roughly mixed in some mica.  I didn't want my butterflies to be evenly yellow, rather that they would be several different shades.  And of course the mica plays with the light so they twinkle and sparkle beautifully. I pulled out papers from my scrap folders and layered them up with tissue and vellum.  Once I had my stack of papers and my yellow background it felt like it was missing something punchy.  I grabbed my black fineliner and doodled on the papers and the background - and through the stencil too, outlining some butterflies and adding more, overlapping some of the yellow butterflies. I went for a solid and bold foam alpha for the title

Another of the Easter cards I made... this one uses scrapbooking supplies that were on my desk at the time... Super simple, just how I like it!  And I used another of those adorable mini paperclips.  I am so in love!! How do you feel about the peel off sentiment?  I know they are old and out of fashion for most people, but I still think they have a place in crafting... Entering this card at  Scribble and Scrap Crafts . The last of the batch of Easter cards, this is made from some tissue I used to soak up extra ink when I was spray misting! I hate wasting things so I tend to swoosh some paper around in the 'over spray' on my craft mat.  I wondered what would happen if I used this embossed tissue paper, so I gave it a try and it turned out nicely. I used Swiss dot and saddlestitch grosgrain ribbon from Crafty Ribbons to make a little bow and sat my sentiment underneath.  This is one of those times when peel offs are perfect - I could not have rubbe

I just read an emailed from Paperchase entitled 20 ways to refresh your desk...  I'm pretty sure buying new stationery will not fix this! Any hoo, here is my desk this morning.  There are the remaining contents of my Like For Ever kit (new non-commitment UK scrapbook kit club) waiting to be played with... ...amongst the other stuff that should have been put away. One day it might be tidy but I'm not sure I'd feel at home! Off to hop round a few desks before playing with my kit :) See you at your desk x
