Someone new to read

Listened to this interview with Irish poet and former priest John O'Donohue on NPR this morning, which set my mind spinning before Mass. Fortunately, the topic was beauty and God. Now to hunt down some of his works, although I'm curious about why he left the priesthood - or maybe the right question is why did he become a priest in the first place. This interview offers some insight - and more food for thought.  Maybe there's a reason his name is unfamiliar to me, but if our library has one of his books, I'll be thrilled. At one point in time I thought I might write a dissertation on the theology of beauty (or on the metaphoric meaning of marriage in Wendell Berry's works); I keep following threads even though the idea of a research paper sounds like purgatory now.
Reading is one form of escape. Running for your life is another.
